Anyone that reads Bill Simmons' article knows what this is:
http://proxy.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?id=1193711
Hopefully Elton Brand leaving with lead to a successful season for the Clippers. Again, teams with a power forward or center as their alpha are really boring and usually underperform when the playoffs start. 4th quarters are usually when the guards take over, especially in the post season. Sign Okafor or Smith or trade for Randolph and we have a solid PF with an alpha that is a guard and a good shot of making the playoffs. Once in, maybe Baron can create some magic in the 1st round. |

The Ewing theory. It's come to this.
If we're banking on Simmons' theory, then we need someone not too expensive and servicable at the 4. Never thought it would need saying but the Clippers need to be careful how they spend this offseason. |

| But they will have to spend the money in some manner because come next season they pay all their players more money thus losing the money kept from this season. |

| The cap space stays the same. Even when player wages on the roster increase, it doesn't eat at the cap space, especially since the cap increases every year. In fact, assuming we have $15M this offseason and don't spend until next year (sounds rough, I know), Knight's contract comes off, meaninng there is an extra $2M. There might be a rookie contract coming in, but otherwise that's $17M. |

| Man I really thought u were referring to infamous bad defense by Daniel Ewing #3 in Game 5 of the Conf. Semi's back in '06. A game which we should have won. |
