    Dear Clipper Nation,

I'm writing to you all from across town. I've been a Laker fan since the Van Exel/Jones days, but I've had the Clippers in my peripherals the whole time, and let me tell you this: Of all the fans in the league, you guys are definitely the most devout and loyal fans of 'em all.

Even in the face of constant impending doom (in the form of disappointing losses, lack of team morale, consistently bad management moves *no offense*, and a seemingly bottomless pit of bad fortune), you guys stick with your team and hold your heads up high. During your great postseason run a couple years back, I'll admit I was rooting for you guys to take out those nasty Phoenix suns. Yet, for all of those temporary Clipper bandwagon fans, it amazes me how loyal you guys are to your team. Never mind a horrific injury to an up and coming player in Shaun Livingston. Never mind the hasty departure of Sam Cassell. Never mind Corey Maggette's condescending attitude towards the team, trying so damn hard to jump ship.

And with the Baron Davis deal, I'll admit; I was excited for you guys. I was excited to see how you'd fare in the Western Conference with the awesome combination of BD and EB.

Yet, what goes up in Clipper Nation, ultimately seems to always come crashing down.

I just wanted to extend my sympathies to you guys; in this Boozer-like situation, I don't know what I would've done if something like this had happened to the Lakers. I don't know what I would've done if both Shaq AND Kobe had left the team. I don't know what I would've done if Kobe had gone through with his offseason threat of leaving. I don't know what I would do if Andrew Bynum doesn't stick with us, especially after all that we've given him.

This whole Elton Brand situation; it caught all of the NBA off guard, but I can't pretend to know how it must feel to have that sting of betrayal taunt me all the way from Philadelphia.

Keep your heads up Clipper Nation; I'll be in the back of Staples, wearing my Laker gear, secretly cheering for you guys to meet us Lakers in the Western Conference Finals one day. That'll be the day. And it'd be a great day indeed.

    -MambaMonk87

*PS* I hope you guys get Emeka Okafor Smile

And forgive me if you don't appreciate me jumping onto your site. I just felt really, really bad for you guys. And I think I speak for a lot of fans in the league.

No need to get on his case guys. The sympathy is legit and he's not rubbing it in our faces. Come on we all know not only Clipper fans feel the way we do. Everyone is upset with what happened whether you root the for Clipps or not.

Thanks for the kind words and we'll meet you in the playoffs soon enough Wink Can't wait for that day. It'll be huge for LA!

I definitely will. I understand the league is a business, but money wasn't even the issue here. It was, in Elton Brand's opinion, to WIN.

Well, you guys got Baron Davis and I felt that Elton just didn't want to TRY, as though he was scared off by the Western Conference.

    And for scudsy and steveeeec,

Remember that I'm giving props to Clippers fans and I'm hoping for success in your franchises future. I'm not trying to be some condescending Laker fan; I'm far from it. The Lakers were crap for the past 3 years, so I'm not just team contender-jumper.

I'll just attribute your comments to the lingering effects of this now infamous EB betrayal.

Thanks LS for your sympathy. I have to say it was moving and heartfelt. Nice to know that not all Laker fans like to rub it in. Your time and effort in righting this doesn't go unnoticed...at least not with this Clipper fan. Wink

I'm a Lakers fan but I think most Lakers fan are ASS HOLE. If you guys go to Lakers ground, a lot of selfish Lakers want Thorton for Odom deal which only benefit the Lakers. I can't stand selfish people who only think about themselves. If anything I rather have the Clippers beat the Lakers just to shut them up. Anyway sport is not just a game to me, it a serious business, and with that said it like taking your little brother girlfriend away from him, you just don't do that, even if it benefit you, though I am only speaking for myself. Sometime I think Lakers fan are Fakers, who only root because we are the 2nd best team in the NBA.

I still miss you EDDIE JONE!!!

I didn't know Laker fans were rubbing it in your faces. If that's true, let me just say that those dudes don't represent the whole of Laker Nation. I guess I apologize on the behalf of real Laker fans.

Btw, I'm over at LTB, and there are some of us who feel really passionately about this whole situation, so just know that we're with you guys on this. I'm pretty sure Elton Brand's going to be hearing boos in Staples Center from EVERYONE in LA, Clipper or Laker fans alike.

I am also a Laker fan, and registered just to second the heartfelt sentiments of lakers.sympathizer, a member of my same board, which is not, by the way, the rather low-class ground.net site!

Regardless of franchise affiliation, there are some things that are just wrong. It did not take very long for the stench of Brand's atrocious behavior to reach across the entire City of Los Angeles. Among true basketball fans this stuff is pretty much universally condemned and the spin being put on it by both Brand, and his sycophant Falk, is not being believed...

Some of my recent postings in this regard, and in moral support of the true Clipper fans, for whom I sincerely make common front in this situation.

This really made me feel a little good toward laker fans because all the laker fans I know are always saying kobe this kobe that and constantly target me for bets on laker vs clipper games...makes me sick, but at least there are some actual civilized laker fans, good to know.

Also I hope we get Josh Smith, I get this feeling Okafor might be out if we were to get him( I just do...its weird)

I know what you mean, most of the Lakers fan (most of my racist community anyway) sport Bryant Jersey, while I know some of them don't even watch the Lakers game or a fan of it. OK lol my own little vandetta, sorry back on Topic!

See you guys in the conference final!

And I think I speak for a lot of fans in the league.

hey man. true and honest from a real basketball fan. my homie here is the huge lakers fan, but he was excited for us when he (as the rest of us) thought that we'd have davis AND benedict brand at the same time. but we all know how that went. it's good to hear from someone who roots for the other team and can come up with something better than "clippers fans suck. kobe for life. HAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHA" cuz that's been played out for years now.

Hello Clipper fans. I'm also here to sympathise with you all after this shocking turn of events. Like my fellow LTB brethren, I was excited at the prospect of facing a revamped and dangerous Clipper team in the WCF. That really would've been the show for the ages. Sadly, you all were dealt another crappy hand w/ EB's betrayal and Maggette's departure.

But as horrible as it is, every dark cloud has a silver lining... Don't forget about your new star trio of Davis, Thornton, and Kaman. This core could be quite successful for years to come. Just surround them with more capable supporting players, and you guys can definitely contend in the Wild Wild West.

So good luck Clippers, and may good fortune swing your way now that you've been to the abyss. Again, there is nothing that I would love to see more than the rebirth of a cross-town rivalry.

Definitely props to all you Laker fans lending support on this matter to Clipper Nation- you've definitely shown yourselves to be very knowledgeable NBA fans for sure!
