I don't mean to imply that Brand leaving will do the Clippers any sort of immediate good. However i do think the Clippers style of play and names on the roster were getting kind of stale ever since the playoff run.

A major overhaul and cap space shuffle may positively impact the team, especially if we're able to sign Okafor or Smith.

I'm still more angry about Sam Cassell's 8-second violation in the Playoffs than Brand leaving.

    Anybody feel me?

Sometimes one flower dies and then another one blooms. Out of the ashes a new world is born. If first you don't succeed......er....uh, I'm sorry I was starting to get carried away. But you are right, we made it to the playoffs but didn't advance, and everything that has happened since that has gone to crap. So, a new draft pick in Eric Gordon, a steal in the second round in DeAndre Jordan, a trade for Mike Taylor, and the largest free agent signing in the history of the Clippers for Baron Davis, have shaken things up. And we are not finished. We still have another 13 Mil or so to bring another star. I think next year is going to be extremely interesting to watch. Right now, nobody is expecting us to do anything. Surprise is the best prize. We are going to make lemonade out of lemons. Er......scratch that.

Hey i think Brand leaving is a good thing man! he made it clear he didnt wanna be here. Like i said in another post, BD, Kaman and Thornton as the main 3 can still be scary good if they gel!

Well the Clippers will be unable to get a replacement as good as EB, even if they sign someone like Josh Smith. In the long run I dont see how EB leaving is necessarily a good thing.

I remember that 8 second violation, I wanted to be angry at him but it was Cassell that aided us to the playoffs to begin with so....oh well. As for B*tchmade Brand, I do agreed a trade for Brand would have been nice, but it is what it is, and the way I see it we either get Okafor and take some time to develop a good
playing style that could work around our new developed team. Or we go after Smith and have a offensive terror in the west, but not the best defense( although Smiths good at defense, he ain't blocking Yao or Amare etc). Or we sign and trade, either way its all good. Giggidy

I do not really think that brand wanted a running offense. I think thats why he preferred a team like philly. We have more money and we can get players that are more suited for our new style of play. We just need to be confident management will now work with baron to get players he feels will help make the transition smoother.

If LAC can use Brand's $ to acquire another good player, then it is like a trade anyway. That's pretty much what Dunleavy said on Mason & Ireland yesterday.

Course, they won't get as good a PF, and they might fail to acquire anyone at all ... so it's not as much of a sure thing as a trade. But I'm hopeful ...

    Welcome ENJ.

By the way, Yao is almost impossible to block to begin with but you can sometimes come off the weak end and catch him that way...Josh is great at that. Amare? No problem, just look at the link I posted from another thread and watch Josh take it to Amare. In fact, watch the whole video and look at the kid work his magic on defense.

I also just think his true colors showed. Kind of sucks for us. We play in major market and people will prob never want to play here because of how all our players leave under sterlings ownership. From lamar begging not to match offers, Taylors famous finger wave, now brand. I hope they do something to prove we will be a good team.
