They should trade for him. Even if they have to give up draft picks

He's already 34 and we have a center, though he could play PF. Yes he is a great defender but.....eh....I don't know. He also commands a lot of money. Not likely to happen....

So Kaman is a ghost now or something? Camby is aging and he is injury prone. If Kaman can get a little better on the defensive side, this thread shouldn't pop up.

CAmby make only 8 mil a year..and he can be a power forward...He plays that already with the Nuggets at times. He has a little jumper

Camby would be nice alongside Kaman.

Why would the Nuggets trade him? He's reasonably priced.

What would they accept from us? We have nothing they want (in fact, we both need a PG, and they are mulling Livingston and Cassell).

If the Nuggets wanted dump relief, they'd offer Kenyon "Insane Contract" Martin or Nene. If we want Nene (overpriced, injury-prone), we might as well be targeting Beidrens/Okafor/Smith, all of whom would be more reasonable in comparison.

There's probably a 30% chance Camby will miss a lot of time because of injuries especially since he's getting long in the tooth

Guys, done deal. Camby is a Clipper. Check for announcement later this evening. He and Kaman should compliment each other both offensive and defensive end.

Just take his salary, or at least that's what my 'source' is telling me. It all happened in the last few hours since Nuggets heard that Clippers were willing to get Randolph for a 2nd round pick.

Nuggets want to shed salary since they are way over the cap. I've been told the Clippers are trying to pull a hat trick. Offer sheet is out to Smith already. Perhaps a sign and trade between Smith/Atlanta and Camby/Clippers. Worst case Camby's contract expires in 2010, along with Mobley and Thomas'.

    here's camby's contract

07/16/04: Marcus Camby (DEN) signed a 6 year, $45.1 million contract. With likely bonuses, the contract could be worth $57.1 million.

So we promise Baron Davis we're gonna sign another "big name" player and we get Marcus Camby? I hope this isn't true

It's basically 2 year/20 mil. So Clips still have the $$ to sign someone at/near the MLE (perhaps Livingston, Azuibuike, Barnes, Landry, etc.). Should be interesting how all of this plays out. At least Camby+Kaman on D will be fun to watch. Block party!

i know.. i wouldnt have a problem if we get him via sign and trade which will have to include tim thomas cuz camby's contract ens in 2010. And the clippers sign another shooting guard help like josh childress or iguadala.

Nice to see you again man!!
I think Marcus is a good pick. He can do the dirty job inside. A great shot blocker, with a nice shot and veteran. He just have 2 years left of his contract so for me it's a good move. We don't have to spend millions of dollars on players who could hinder our young talents.

    I like it

Camby can hit from 18-feet, whichi would help Kaman. He's also a terrifc rebounder/shot blocker.

According to this page it's less than 16 million for two years, not sure how accurate it is though
