I've been optimistic about this team for the last 17 years, maybe it's starting fade a bit, but by getting Camby, it's difficult to get EXCITED about next year

yeah my optimism is fading as well. it's hard to be optimistic if the front office and owner has only offered misery.

I'm looking for Camby articles but am not finding anything, not even rumors. I did find out that Najera has signed with the Nets. Too bad, I would have liked to tsee him on the Clips. He's sort of the Anti-Thomas.

There is something on Hoopsworld, nothing real credible though.

Wait, I just got excited. What if we get Camby, then find a way to get Artest, hahaha, we'd hold teams to like 50 points a game

Yeah was just about to post that. The guy is old though lol. Guess we'd only have him for 2 years though. Guess it wouldn't hurt. But then what?

Artest is piece of work. We don't want that guy on our team. He's great when there's no drama but when there is, that guy ruins everything. Lakers and Miami are making a run for him anyways and both are way more appealing than us.
    Don't want him anyways.

Yeah he's definitely a head case, but no one can deny his talent, plus it would only be for a year. Looking back on that potential trade for Maggette and Artest in '05-'06, we would've gone to the conference finals at the very least

The sign and trade is just a speculation more on my part and my source, but the Camby to Clippers is 90% legit I'd say. I just spoke to a Hoopsworld source over the phone who has very close ties with Denver and he heard it too. Look for something on Clippers.com/ESPN/etc.. around 5-6PM (pacific time).

You da man Henry- great call on this one.

Sources: Nuggets agree to trade Camby to Clippers for second-round pick

The Los Angeles Clippers, exactly one week after finding out they had lost their face of the franchise, have rebounded with a significant trade acquisition.

The Clippers on Tuesday agreed to terms on a deal with the Denver Nuggets to acquire center Marcus Camby as their replacement for Elton Brand, according to NBA front-office sources.

Sources told ESPN.com that the Clippers will only have to surrender a future second-round pick to acquire Camby, who is being jettisoned into the Clippers' salary-cap space vacated by Brand to generate payroll relief for the Nuggets.

A trade call with the league to approve the deal has been completed, sources said, clearing the way for the teams to announce the swap later Tuesday.

Camby, 34, is coming off a productive season in which he averaged 9.1 points, 13.1 rebounds and 3.61 blocks for the Nuggets, who won 50 games to claim the final playoff spot in what is regarded as the most competitive conference race in league history.

But the Nuggets have yet to advance out of the first round with their Allen Iverson-Carmelo Anthony-Camby core and, according to sources, opted to shed the remaining two years on Camby's contract (worth nearly $15 million) to create the flexibility that could allow for more changes.

The Nuggets had the league's fourth-highest payroll last season and are required to pay $13,572,079 in luxury taxes for last season by July 23.

here's my wish list to the money we have left... these players are around the mle.

Flip Murray(indiana)- great backup pointguard with great outside shooting and dribbling skills
nened kristic- Camby is a defensive guru. kristic will provide offensive relief off the bench
michael doleac- mid range game.. again offensive relief. we can get him for much less than the mle
jannero pargo- understand his role as a back up. not afraid to shoot during the 4th quarter.
fred jones (new york)- athletic sg
gordan giricek- i know he struggled shooting but would it hurt to have another verteran sg
erik piakowski- bring back one of the original clipper
carlos delfino- worth every penny for mle

We just Got Camby. Done Deal. Not the best deal but let's give Dunleavy some props. We have no idea that every other team would have matched and we would have been stuck with nothing. As long as Camby is healthy he is an amazing defender and rebounder. Where the hell is Elgin? What does he do??? As far as offense, look for Thornton to have a break out season. And Gordon will score as well. We have an exciting team and we can still sign one more player.
