| I just knew this would happen. Newly signed Baron Davis has now convinced the Clippers to begin negotiations with his old team mate Andris Biedrins (reported in Hoopsworld). Baron is familiar with Biedrins game and knows how good he is. Biedrins averaqed a double double, has a very respectable 18.5EFF effienciency rating, But more importantly actually shoots 62% from the field. Those lofty shooting percentages are reserved only for centers who dunk all the time. But Biedrins shoots a lot of jumpers as well. Moreover, when he played in Europe, he was a power forward, not a center. The biggest reason the Clips would pursue Biedrins is the Warriors are less likely to match than the teams that Smith and Okafor play for. Why? Well the Warriors already signed Maggette to a big contract and they certainly are not going to let Monte Ellis go. Monte will cost them big bucks as well. If they matched an offer to Biedrins, their salary numbers would skyrocket. The Clips are proably thinking they could get a better deal with Biedrins and Baron would be happy. And they might even have some bucks left over to sign other players. |

| Yea. I was actually doing some reading on him. The guy looks pretty solid. Blocks might go up with the caveman behind. Really solid player. |

Good move- I like Biedrins a lot- good defense/rebounding and doesn't take bad shots. The only knock on him is the poor free throw shooting, but he's improved on it.
Maybe we can go after Monta Ellis, make them match it, and then say thank you very much, and grab Biedrins who's our real target. |

| Is 2pac taling about Biedrins? But 2pac is right about one thing, at 6'11" and 235, he is a little light to be playing center. But that is not his natural position, PF is his natural position. Funny, his free throw percentage is the same as his shooting percentage, 62%. You would think his FT % would be higher since he seems to be able to hit the jumper. Biedrins gets out on the break, runs the floor and is quick with his first step, so I don't see how we could call him slow. Fazekas is slow. And Faz still manages to be effective with what he has. |

That would be excellent strategy, great suggestion. |

I'm a Clippers fan but i live in the Bay Area (Golden State territory)... I follow both teams and i can safely say from watching 82 regular season GS games a year that Biedrins is not the answer. You need a beef guy at the PF spot. A banger that will make hustle plays and is able to box out other heavy PF's. Josh smith is skinny too but he can probably jump over a double-decker bus, Biedrins on the other hand probably cant clear a soda can. Josh smith is a walking highlight reel, I think the only times Biedrins makes sports center is when he's getting dunked on or they're doing a special on international players.
Right now the clippers need to send offers out to Smith and Okafor...FAST.
The ABSOLUTE last thing the clippers want to do, is go get a Quick-Fix like Biedrins and miss out on players like Smith and Okafor next season when they're UNrestricted free agents b/c they blew all their money on Biedrins. |

| those numbers are also in 27 mins. i dont know much about the guy, but seem legit. how good of a scorer is he? how much potential does he have? i think it would be a good move as long as we don't overpay him. |

That is so true, I've seen him play a few times and the dude does not jump, but he can still get rebounds. Must be nine-foot wingspan (I'm guessing). |

Yeah, everybody making jokes but I remember Fazekas getting some nice numbers of rebounds last season...It's not all about jump in basketball. And a man who averages 20-10 for Nevada-Las Vegas 2 years ago must know play some basketball...isn't it?
About Biedrins I have my doubts. Many players who come from GS and Phoenix have their statistic numbers inflated because of their game style.
Biedrins in GS was the man who always went for the garbage. All the game Davis, Jackson,Harrington and others shooting from every position and Biedrins trying to grab rebounds and scoring from second opportunities. This is not the Clippers style. I never saw him playing a slow game where he had to play back to basket. He's good phisichally but I have doubts about his offensive skills. |

Fazekas is not a starting player, but I was surprised with his skill last year for us. He has an excellent touch around the basket: making baskets off missed shots. It's amazing how many big men miss that two-footer, but Nick makes them consistently. |

Yeah, Miquel, I'm leary about Beidrins too. I think he had a great season last year, but could be very overrated right now. The price will probably be managable, and I'd hope they'd use him at PF first and Kaman's backup second, but I'm not sure. He may be quick-fix, like someone above said, but if we can sign some backups who create offense and re-sign Ross, we'd have depth and enough in the starting lineup to cause major havoc.
I dont think Beidrins is the answer to PF, but as a fifth player filling out an awesome starting lineup, I might be willing to take him in, especially since Baron has played with him a whole season. |

| ladodgermaniac, are you talking about Biedrins? He shoots 62% from the floor. I think he leads the league in shooting. That percentage includes the fact that he shoots outisde jump shots and jump hooks, not just dunks. So instead of being the worst shooter in the NBA, he is actually one of the best shooters in the NBA. Check you facts before you embarrass yourself. |

| Yeah, but he has been working on that and improved to 62% last season. He says his goal is to get to a respectable 70%. Anyways, when a guy is hitting 62 from the floor I can accept free throw shooting in the 60's. Lots of big's shoot throws in the 60's. |

That's good to hear (he's working on his FT; Duncan was also 60% from the line, bumped it into the 70% range). And you're right, 62% FGP is unquestionably good (no doubt because of Baron, who we now have). |

| If you look at that You Tube, Biedrins and Baron were working the pick and roll to perfection. Biedrins comes out high and sets the pick. Baron goes around the pick, the double team ensues to stop Baron's drive to the bucket. Andris rolls to the bucket. Baron passes to the roll. Score. It is a beautiful thing to watch. |
