    ...DeAndre Jordan

I'll bet big bucks that nearly everybody on this forum plays the Lottery. So do i, it means we're all optimistic people and it shows, especially if Nick Fazekas is getting good press (holler at me Miquel lol) A large majority of the posts are player movement prayers involving improbable trades and pickups that would turn the Clippers into a championship team overnight. On that note, I'm optimistic too and I have high hopes for DeAndre Jordan. Higher than Gordon and Thornton.

I honestly think he's going to join Arenas and Pippen on the short list of Second Round pick-ups that turn into stars.

If Jordan does well this season, who knows, maybe he'll replace Brand for us, without having to spend 12 million dollars.

i hope so. he was projected to go into the lottery. i dont know if you guys have seen mario chalmers' stats, but he's scorching it in the summer league (also a second round pick projected to go into the lottery) hopefully the same happens with deandre. summer league begins today for us!

You are right about one thing, DeAndre is athletic enough to play the PF position. But he is a little on the raw side. But I also think he has enormous upside. Analyst say if he had stayed in schoold one more year he might have been a top 5 pick in the next draft. It's unclear how fast he will develop. We will just have to see. Summer league will give us an idea of where he is even though summer league is not always the best place for a BIG to display his talents because it is often a run and gun game.

He has been compared to Dwight Howard and Andrew Bynum.

Lets be honest he is no Dwight Howard, I believe he is better than Bynum though. He is Big and very athletic and will be $10,000,000 motivated. (in case you are wondering thats the difference in the contract between 35 and 10). 7.9 points, 61%FG and 1.3 blocks and only playing 20 MPG and playing in the big 12. If not for the minimum age rule in the NBA he was projected a top 10 prospects, he fought for time with a large Texas team, but seemed to produce well with the minutes given.

Is he a starter today, nope will he be a good back up for Kaman, most likely. At 2 million dollars, he is a steal.

I am actually more interested in seeing Mike Taylor play tonight.

    NO BS

I had a friend who won the lottery for $8.7 mill. He was also a doctor so he retired real fast. Then it was found he had hepatitis and he just died about 4 yrs later

I read you!! What means to holl??

On the other hand hopefully Jordan will develop into a good basketball player but I'm sure he could never average the numbers Faz got in the university. 20-10 all the three years he played there.

DeAndre did well last night, and seemed very team orientated. I hope they keep him. Wow, how good was Gordon last night, though the Hype machine was talking about OJ's 15 points.

Yeah I'd say even with Gordon's poor shooting he still out-performed mayo. Well our second to last game we play him so that should be fun.

HE has an absolutely great upside but he is raw. Like sushi raw. I sure hope that the Clippers picked up a guy that is half the guy Dwight Howard is because if they did then the future is good for us. Even Dunleavy when asked about what he thinks about next year says "If we are able to spend some of this cash on a quality PF this summer we can compete." He made it clear that if they don't get someone this summer, it's going to be a long season.

    1) Trade Mobley or Thomas and a 2nd round draft pick for ZACH RANDOLPH. 17 points, 10 boards. Then Sign JOSH SMITH to an offer sheet at 80 million for 5 years. 17 points, 8 boards, 2 blocks - similar to Elton Judas Benedict Brand's #s. If ATL matches, immediately sign ANDRE IGUODALA to an offer sheet of 90 million for 5 years and either steal him or make the sixers match. If the CLIPS get RANDOLPH to replace Brand and IGUODOLA to replace Mobley. The CLIPS will go deep in the playoffs. B. DAVIS, IGUODALA, THORNTON, RANDOPH, KAMAN. Bench: Gordon, Jordan, Knight, Davis, Powell, Taylor.

I LOVE THE idea of at least driving up the price for Iguodala. Obviously they have to decide whether or not he is the guy they want just in case Philly doesn't match but if so then why not throw a wrench in PHILLY's plans and make an offer . If Philly matches then they get screwed because that will put them above teh salary cap of 58.6 million...If they can;t then we've said FU to Brand and basicaly ripped the hearts out of Philly's team because without Iguodala, there is no way that they can compete in the East. He is a big part of what they did last year and boy that would be sweet to at least Drive up the price for him so that they'll be so up against the cap that they can't breathe. It they can't sign him then...Baron Davis, Iguodala, THornton, ?, KAman. ONly one hole to fill and we'd be looking really good. MObley is at 9 million a year, Thomas at 6 million and Knight at 2 million....That's 17 million in trade away money to bring in another big named free agent.

Iguodala seems like the mostl likely signing since Philly has already committed so much money to E Bitch.

Totally we should drive up the price on Iguodala! I agree Jordan is a bright prospect. Like ive been saying you guys worry too much about our team's state right now. Baron,Gordon,Al,Jordan,Kaman... is a ridiculously talented line up... you guys are too worried about snagging an all star PF. we need an energy fast break forward like Jordan starting for us. He can block shots, rebound and run the break.. who cares about his shooting.

Jordan can't start. He didn't start most games when he was in the university but ei he can start in NBA... It has no sense.

Deandre only has done a pair of dunks coming from assists or offensive rebounds. I still haven't seen him any move. He still must learn the game. Maybe if you think this is a transition season then he could start. But I wanna win right now. We need a good PF or we won't make the PO.

i hear you man. jordan cant start for us. we need jordan on the bench to add depth.

the bench without jordan is like this:

knight, thomas, fazekas, marcus williams, taylor, mobely, and powell

see the giant hole in the center and pf position?

i really dont think fazekas or williams will give enough efficiency to back up our new pf.

    we need jordan.
plus, jordan can back up center and pf so that means more miinutes for him.

Why cant we make the playoff's without a star pf? You guys are missing this point; Al thornton is going to more than step up for maggette. Also a star point guard is MUCH more valuable than a star power forward. This team now can make a push for 8th seed as is. Our bench isnt so thin. Dont forget Mobley and Thomas can anchor our bench if they are healthy. I agree on at least trying hard for a great pf... but stop sounding so urgent. This is one of the most talented squads since we had Odom, maggette, d miles, and q rich

If we can't get a quality PF the most likely situation is that we won't make the PO...

Our starting PF right now is Tim Thomas. And his backup is...Fazekas?Jordan? Do you think it is serious if you wanna make the PO??

Well, we lose an all-star player, another player who's was a mainstay of our offense, and we gained an all-star player back. So at this point we need to get another good player to roughly match the talent level of 2005-2006, during which we didn't even make the playoffs at 40-42. Now it's true that Al is a big factor now, and Gordon would definitely help, but considering that you'd probably need 45+ wins to make the playoffs, we definitely need another big time player to propel us over the hump.

We did get an all star in exchange for ours man. Baron Davis is actually a more valuable player than Elton if i have to be honest. It's because a great point guard will ALWAYS be more important than a great power forward. I think we should persue a PF for sure.. but again we can make the playoff's if everyone steps up. Btw in the west we might need 50 wins to make the play offs ; (. 45 wins used to be enough but not anymore really. Because there is like 12 playoff contenders.
