The Clippers have many options and are waiting it out. That is what Dunleavy said he would do over the weekend, probably negotiating deals.
Options:
Josh Smith (ATL might be cheap)
Okafor (CHA might be cheap)
Artest (SAC is trying to trade him)
Deng (CHI notoriously cheap)
Inguadala
Randolph (NY wants cap space for the last few yrs!)
Camby (DEN wants to avoid luxury tax)
Marion (MIA wants to go young and rebuild)
Rasheed (expiring contract, DET looking to trade him or Billups)
They will get someone, just a matter of how smart of a deal they can pull off
That is 8 REAL possibilties, 1 will get done! |

artest isnt a pf . neither is iggy.
deng could be in a run and gun system.
matrix wants to stay with heat.. Sheed will be to expensive and old.
camby is a C even if good he is slow and would have to push kaman to pf (which i guess could work) but dbavis wants to run.
so really josh/okafor/zack are the only choise out there.
josh would fit great if we run and gun but he is not a typical pf. Atl said they would match.
Okafor is one of the remaining pfs in classic.
zack would be good cause we can have space to get few others and he is a 20/10 player. But Someone good has to deal with ny. I am not optimistic clips getting him. WIth NY you need someone smart since you can beat him 99 out of 100 times in trades.
but we might be that 1 person that cant. |

I'm pretty sure all the restricteds will be matched by their existing teams. Which leaves Randolph and Marion. I would love to have Shawn Marion, but I'm not sure he wants to play for the Clippers. The only real possibility is Zach Randolph who I think is two years past his prime. This doesn't look good for the Clippers as their most likely scenario remains Tim Thomas as their PF this year. Maybe wait a few years and go hard after Chris Bosh.
If the Lakers get Artest, you can fit the rings now. The Western Conference is theirs for the next three years. I'm just hoping that the Clippers could get to a point where they can be roadkill for the Lakers in the playoffs along with San Antonio, New Orleans, and Utah. |

Do you think that possible even with Artest? I predict they will win championship but I don't think it will be a 3 peat, since so many team are getting stronger including the Clippers, that bring so much excitement to the NBA once again! |

| It doesn't really matter if Marion wants to play for LA, it's not up to him if he's traded. Then once he's here, he's trying to earn a huge contract for the next few years, so he'd play incredibly hard for us. After that, Marion would be off the books and we could look at NEXT year's free agency |

| I would like to see either Smith or Emeka next year. If the Clippers can't get either of those two, I say go after Sheed. If they can't get any of those players, I say try for Deng. |

| A team that has alot of talented big men is Portland (oden, aldridge, diogu, frye, outlaw). I am curious if they have any interest in getting rid of one that they dont play as much... |

| The Clippers are done. I am a past season ticket holder and will not be renewing this year. The team is in bad shape without any solutions. Elton Brand was a beast and whatever we did to alienate him is the teams fault and now they are going to face another miserable season. None of those guys are viable options to replace him. Okafor and Randolph are both slow and Smith cant guard any of the West's PFs. It sucks we got BD because now we are wasting his time while still in a rebuilding mode. |

Do not be so pessimistic. There is a lot of off season left, and we can still make some changes and do good things....True Clipper fans have been here for the good and bad, and have to have a thick skin to deal with the bad |

| Elton Brand was NOT a beast. He had a "magical", otherwise known as "lucky", season in '05-'06, the next year people knew how to guard him and we didn't get to the .500 level, and the year after he gets injured. He's incredibly overrated |

So could this work: We arrange a 3-way trade in which we receive a PF from a team we haven't thought of, that team receives Josh Smith (who can then sign for an amount higher than ATL is willing to match), and we send to ATL draft picks or other assets.
Clipnasty's suggestion of Portland may be that third team. It allows us to get a true PF that's not a FA, Portland reduces their glut at that position and ATL has more money to give to Childress.
You can replace ATL/Smith with Chicago/Ben Gordon or Philly/Iggy in this deal. These players will get limited contracts if they don't explore this option.
FA is loaded with wing players we don't need - can we get creative and move pieces around to get us a PF? |

| All I am saying is having attended the majority of the games in the last few years is that EB was the face of this franchise and while they were not very good made the Clippers somewhat respectable instead of the complete joke they are the most of the time. There are no legitimate PFs that will help this team besides maybe Sheed who is not coming here. the team is going to end up overpaying somebody who will not pan out like they always do, have you followed the team in the last 15 years? this always happens, get out of your tickets while you can still get your refund. |

| Thats right EB will surely be missed. Sheed would not even help this franchise. nothing except a new front office could. I feel bad for BD for getting himself into this, he deserves better. |

| If we package DeAndre Jordan with Mobley and/or Thomas, a lot of teams will be listening. Jeez, the idea of us getting rid of those players and picking up Randolph and Iguodala is just awesome |

| It seems like a no-brainer. I've had enough of these players with potential. People say that about Gordon, but at least he's shown how amazing he can be in college, DeAndre never showed anything |

Even though the Clippers will not likely make the playoffs this season, I'm kindof excited about their team in terms of entertainment value. Eric Gordon and Al Thornton certainly will be good for some highlight reels playing alongside Baron Davis and, if they really tank, maybe they'll give DeAndre Jordon some real minutes. Compared to the Lakers who hardly ever have or need young rookies to look forward to, the Clippers seem to always have plenty. I renewed and am happy that I did. Plus, they brought back the buy one get one free deal in the 200's section. |
