From Hoopsworld:::
The LA Clippers are still trying to add another marquee piece, and that might be New York's Zach Randolph. The Clippers made an offer of a 2nd round draft pick for Randolph, a daring move by the Clips. The Knicks declined the offer, but sources in Las Vegas near the Knicks say talks are on going, especially with the free agent market being so dry at this point, with only restricted free agents left. The Clippers did meet with Andre Iguodala and will meet with Luol Deng this week in Vegas, but both players may be out of LA's price range, leaving the Clippers to add the next piece in trade. The Knicks reported asked for Eric Gordon in any trade package for Zach Randolph and it seems the Clippers are not as closed to a discussion as you'd think especially if the Knicks toss in David Lee.
The Clippers have told Baron Davis that they will be aggressive in adding another "big piece" and in Randolph that might be a bit too literal, but it is daring. |

Wow really. They'd get rid of Gordon after they wanted to move up to the 4th pick of the draft to get him? He's our only pure shooter which has been one of our weakness for a while now. And he looks like he'll be able to get 15-20 points most nights even when his shots not falling. Imagine when he is scoring from the outside and he's still getting to the line.
I'd really hate to see the Clipps give up this kid even if we were gonna bring in Iggy. I think we should just try to get Randolph and then sign Smith for big money. We'd have:
Davis, Knight, Taylor
Mobley, Gordon,
Smith/Thornton
Randolph/Smith, Jordan
Kaman, Jordan, Davis
Assuming we get rid of TT in a trade for Randolph. Not sure what Nicks future would be and Shaun doesn't look to be coming back.
That's not a bad line-up. Yeah our SG slot isn't great, but Gordon has all the pentential there and if he developes fast which I think he will then we are set....
Just my opinion. What do you guys think? |

I would HATE the Clippers with more passion than anything else if they trade away Gordon for a nobody. Seriously...Randolph is ok, but not good enough to trade away one of the biggest surprises this coming season in Eric Gordon.
It would be another blunder!!!!
GORDON STAYS! TRADE MOBLEY & THOMAS! |

| I agree, DO NOT TRADE GORDON! With Randolphs hefty contract, the Clippers are the only team who can take on more payroll. I say trade Thomas (who's contract expires after 09/10, which is what the Knicks want) and a second round pick for Randolph. NOTHING MORE. |

I agree, not worth it.
And anyway, if they would really consider trading away Gordon they could set their sights on someone more interesting than Zach, huh? |

| I'm with everyone here. Why this is still open for negotiations is beyond me. I wouldn't give up Gordon for anyone on that Knicks team. I wouldn't want to give him up period. He has the potential to be something special and he's well underway to becoming that. |

I'd prefer the following deal with the Knicks: Mobley for Jamal Crawford (who has three years left at about $10M per year).
NY gets cap relief one year early (summer of 2010 instead of 2011)
LAC gets a SG more in his prime and with an ability to play some PG.
With Kaman, Baron, Crawford and Thornton in the starting line-up, I'd be more comfortable getting a PF who is not quite top tier and save some money for the bench. This would also soften the blow of losing Shaun since we'd be fine at the PG 3 years. Either Taylor or a minor pickup up like Lowry would have time to grow..
NY might also even include David Lee if LAC sweetened the pot a little (Knight and a draft choice). |

| Did the attempt to aquire Josh Smith go sour or something? Plus with Thorton and Gordon on the same team it can be like the old combination of Odom & Miles... An exciting one-two punch (and then the knock out blow with BD!!!) |

| I wouldn't give up Gordon for just about anyone right now. He's our 7th pick in a very deep draft and already looks to be great. I'd take the chance on him than get 2 PF's that pretty much no one wants. Besides he's our shooter. Without him we would have no go to shooter. |

| You can't blame the Knicks for trying to get Gordon, but the Clippers should realize that New York is desperate, more desperate than we are. They absolutely MUST dump Zach Randolph before 2010 or all their hopes go down the drains. I think if we stay strong and say "Cuttino and TT, take it or leave it", they'll take it |

| ^^Exactly. We (as in us on the boards) are not even dealing with them and you can easily smell their desperation to get rid of Zack. Come on they're on the edge of throwing in Lee. They need to drop them more than anyone needs them. I agree, if we hold out long enough, and no one else makes any offers, we'll get Zack for flea market price. |
