This guy seems legit and probably wouldnt cost us much. Now that we lost Kaz we got figure out how to use the rest of that cap space.

yea this sounds like a no risk situation, lets take a shot with him, bring back powell, and get ourselves a backup small forward...well have a beastly frontline

Some unrestricted free agents that may be able to help....i've listed SF, PF, and Centers.

Jamal Magloire, Ricky Davis, Flip Murray, Bonzi Wells, Fred Jones, Brian Skinner.

I truly believe that Mobley and Thomas are going to get good #'s this years because Davis is going to get them open. I think with Davis' style of play we should go after a Fred Jones (high flyer) or Flip Murray (explosive)....Bonzi is getting a little old, but he can still play....Ricky Davis is not a great chemistry guy but may be available for cheap....

Flip Murray already turned us down last season. I dislike Rikcy Davis very much. Not crazy about F. Jones, but if it's the minimum, it might be worth a try.

Yeah just about to say Murray was on the verge of signing with us but bolted last second.

Might as well...a little disappointed because I know that the warriors wouldn't have matched if it was another team going after Kaz.

Yeah still can't believe they matched us lol. Doesn't make any logical sense.

After all thats been happening I know for a fact none of these players will be mentioned when we sign someone else. When we were looking to replace Brand, did we get who we spoke of? no, when we looked through the Free Agency did any of our choices pop up? no, so I am going to just go by what I see officially.

We are that mysterious.

You know Dunleavy will find someone else. Hopefully the burn by Felton is still motivating him so that he gets out there and finds us another decent wing player.

I can't believe much of what I read about the Clippers anymore because the actual news always seems to come out of left field.

I think Rush, Wells, or Giricek would be ok. They aren't gonna be expected to carry the team, just score a little when they're in there. Its hard to see who the Fo is looking at next. It's really slim pickings on the free agent list.

Please no Devean George. We're trying to get rid of our cancers, we don't need to replace them with lesser skilled cancers. Same goes for Ricky Davis and Bonzi (but I might give them a chance if they were really cheap).

I'm also a big fan of giricek....2 things, #1-i think he may go to europe, #2 he wants more than he's worth....i doubt the clipps will go after him, BUT...he his a big body that can hit the 3 when he's on!

i don't think theres anyone really out there to sign that can help us. i say we should trade mobley and thomas and see what we can get out of them two. we can also throw in a future first round pick and see what we can get. personally, I really like mobley I wouldn't want to see him leave. he can play defense, can shoot the three very well, good free throw shooter, uses the glass very well, and a great post up player. if you guys don't remember, I believe the first 4 games of the season cuttino was are leading scorer.

You can shop Thomas and Mobley now, but there will be much better offers for both when they become expiring next year. If you don't believe in expiring contracts, remember that cake-throwing big man (who's name we're not allowed to mention) that netted LAL the big Spanish guy from the Grizzlies.

Ramona Shelburne says the Clippers have signed someone, more details later tonight.

http://www.insidesocal.com/clippers/

BTW, you all should check this blog out, she does good work if you read her articles on the Press-Telegram.

I'm guessing Mo Evans. Anyone else care to guess?

I figured they would react fast. Ever since Duneleavy got here the Clippers have made their off season decisions quickly and decisively. I like that. Oh, and agree with journeyman, now that Art Thompsons clipperblog has been sunk so that the OC register could use him to provide "the Ultimate Laker coverage" as they state, I think Ramona Shelburne of the Long Beach Press telegram provides the best Clipper coverage with her frequent clipper blog entries and articles. She's been on top of most of this summer's ongoing before anyone else.

first off, there is no way Harrington is worth Thomas and Mobley, especially considering that the 2 of them are even more valuable with their expiring contracts. harrington really isnt that good. also, losing 2 for one would hurt our depth even more. our bench would be jason hart, gordon and powell and thats about it.

second, with that lineup, wed have a point guard, 2 small forwards and 2 centers. thornton really isnt a guard, and it wouldnt work with so many people playing out of position.

Baron Davis/Jason Hart/Mike Taylor

Cuttino Mobley/ Eric Gordon

Al Thornton

Marcus Camby/Tim Thomas/Josh Powell

Chris Kaman/Nick Fazekas/DeAndre Jordan

thats our depth chart according to ESPN.com

anyone else notice the glaring hole at small forward? Mo Evans may be our only option at this point, as much as some people don't like him. Or Quinton Ross

If Ramona's right (no matter who it is), then it's yet one more case of the LAC FO sneaking up on us. They do an excellent job of keeping things quiet (MDsr said at the Camby press conference that it works better that way). Also it would validate what he said about having a Plan B already in place.

The problem is always waiting for the plan to pop up on a news wire somewhere when you least expect it. I guess the flip side is similar to what happened with Evans and the warriors. It was in the papers before it was a done deal.

The rest of the players out there that the Clippers can get actually get are basically stiffs. None will dramatically help the team. Atleast, Kwame is big, plays decent defense and can use fouls against Shaq, Bynum, etc.

You spoke his name; JamFan will be displeased.

Anyway, Brian Skinner would serve the same function, and without all the Laker/sex abuser/cake throwing baggage.

For some strange reason we are not allowed to mention his name on this website. Someone will say if you mention his name again your banned. And to answer your question no. I dont want him.

As long a were throwing out names, how does Stephen Jackon sound? They have a glut of swingmen. We have $3M in cap space, so we'd only have to send back $2.5M. Assuming they could make the numbers work (and assuming they would deal with us) would anyone be interested?

We really need to consider JR Smith, that kid has crazy upside and we could get him for cheap. He's almost the ideal spark off the bench

And as far as Stephen Jackson, that would be great too. Both him and JR Smith are really ballsy, they thrive in pressure situations, and they scare the other players with all their tatts

Yeah but I think both have been rumored to be bad seeds. I wish we'd have been able to steal Buke. We'll see what happens....Supposedly the Clippers are going to be making a free agent signing by tomorrow. Not MO EVANS THO! He's the reason we didn't get Buke.

Trading TT ot Cat wouldn't be a good idea now. With the present line up they are important pieces. The only sensible trade is TT for a SF backup. We'd have to however depend on our young bigs but Powell. Davis and Jordan are a gamble. TT is a known (unfortunately) quantity

Shaun Livingston to a reasonable contract. The Kid deserves another chance with the Clips to prove that he wasnt a waste of draft pick nor $ for the Clips management. If we release him and dont resign him back, we are basically treating him like Korolev (which I believe deserves to be cut by the Clips and should have never been drafted in the 1st place). Livingston showed his passing skills during the playoffs against Denver & Phoenix. Flashes of how good he could be. I know I know...everyone's going to argue about not having anymore time for him to develop when the team is leaning towards winning "NOW"...but see it this way. If we sign him, give him a 1 year tender contract in which he can use to prove he can still compete...and if he does, he is deserving for an extension. If signed...get him to bulk up a bit and surround him with the right nutritionist, trainers...etc.

Seriously...Livingston needs to play for the Clips. If Livingston sign with another team, he'll be a bench warmer and will never able to have the opportunity he deserves to show he can still play.

Sorry, this is the NBA where Darwin is king, not sentiment. I feel for the kid but I don't want to use a needed space and money for someone who may not pan out for someone who will. Sentiment doesn't win games. David mentioned hiring him as an asst coach and if he's able to play then sign him. This is the best we should do.

Toohip has it right. Although I would love for him to re-sign again, it might be a detriment to the team at this point . If he is willing to sign at the min then i would take ANOTHER shot at him as a means to show loyalty. You also have to remember, the investment really never paid off.

1) he said more then once he doesnt want to be back with the clippers. and wants to go to a team were he will have a chanse to start.

2) he isnt close to ready to play(from what i hear)

but if he is ready to play and clippers can get him to agree to stay then why not?its just a 1mill. not really much to give one of your top prospects a shot.

Guys Livi is far from being able to play at an NBA level. Since we renounced his rights there has not been any discussions between him and the team. They say he looks ok on the court but has lost confidence in taking it to the basket. He can only play one on one ball right now. The only popsitive is that he is young and can still rebound but probably will never reach his potential of an elite pg. iF HE SIGNS FOR THE MIN Sure lets sign him but at this point he is no use to us. Some team will offer him more money than us, taking a chance, but according to coaches he is very humble and very thankful for what he has. He is a good kid but this is the NBA, What can he do for us?
