1) he said more then once he doesnt want to be back with the clippers. and wants to go to a team were he will have a chanse to start.2) he isnt close to ready to play(from what i hear) but if he is ready to play and clippers can get him to agree to stay then why not?its just a 1mill. not really much to give one of your top prospects a shot.
A chance to start???Maybe in a few years....

Lots of teams have projects as their 13th, 14th, and 15th players. They do not even dress to play in games. Some of them are moved back and forth to the D league so they can get some playing time and dress them to play when they are ready or when needed because of injuries to other players. We owe Livie at least that much of an opportunity. We have absolutely nothing to lose by offering....

I was in support of the efforts to sign KAZ, but I would also support bringing in Mo Evans if he could be had for similar numbers. At 29, Mo is freakishly athletic. He is listed as a SG but can and has played backup SF. Last season he averaged 9PPG and 3RPG while shooting 49% from the field and 39% from the 3. He did all of that in only 22 MPG. In the playoffs....

Wasn't Jackson suspended for a gun problem or something thugish?
That's correct. Plus he's not a FA, so it's a non factor. Plus GSW loves him, wouldn't trade him. ....

At 3 years and 8 Mil he might be a good bargain.
Mo would be OK. But didn't he turn down a larger offer from GSW? ....

What about Fred Jones. I've heard people talk about him. Is he a decent player.

You know, I like Sasha and his outside shooting, but Sasha wants 5-6 Mil. We could probably get Mo for 3 Mil, and Mo can play backup SF even though at 6'5" he is a little short for that position. It is his long arms and athleticism that allows him to play SF, though his natural postion is SG. He is quick so he can D up pretty well. ....

Ok, JR only made 2 Mil last season, so 3Mil would be a raise for the 22 year old. When his minds is right, he is another scoring machine. At 6'6" he is listed at SG but is considered a swing because he can play some SF as well. Last year he went for 12PPG and 2 RPG but in only 19MPG. He shot 46% from the field and 40% from the 3. He is another guy....

i think we actually have more than 3 mil to shell out....hoopsworld including buke's conract at 2.9 mil still had us with 800,000-900,000 left under the cap....so technically we could offer somewhere around 3.5+?? ....

I agree completely, JR Smith is the way to go! People seem hesitant to sign him because he has attitude problems, but it's not like it's Ron Artest here. He's not getting drug violations and suspension, dude's just got a bunch of tattoos ....

I think this would be a great move because I love his game and think that that if he keeps his head on straight he has a chance to be a star. The problem though, and the reason why I don't think this is going to happen is because we face the same situation that we faced with the Warriors. The Nuggets will match no matter what because of all the heat they are getting for the Camby trade. They can't....

You would think krapper11 would be right, that Denver would laugh as they matched 3 Mil. Or would they? Their coach does not like him. And JR was quoted as saying the other day that he has not had a single offer. Could be that no team feels they could make an offer that Denver wouldn't match, so it is scaring teams away. This is a hard situation to read. But you would think....

Trading TT ot Cat wouldn't be a good idea now. With the present line up they are important pieces. The only sensible trade is TT for a SF backup. We'd have to however depend on our young bigs but Powell. Davis and Jordan are a gamble. TT is a known (unfortunately) quantity
i wouldn't consider powell a gamble....he played really well last year and with an all star point running the show he should fare even better....we need a back up....

You can't make a case for a player purely with a You Tube vidio with only 1 play on it. I can make Kwame Brown look like a legit #1 pick with a You Tube. Everybody has highlights and a few good plays that make them look like a rock star. I even once saw a You Tube that made Keith Closs look like an All Star. So, give us a real case. We will....

Well even without Camby on their roster, the Nuggets are at 71 million already for next year's salary. So they're in a serious money situation. I think if we offered JR 3 millilon a year, the Nuggets would match, but anything above that might be too much for them to pay ....

How is Q-Ross better? He's one-dimensional. He's only good for perimeter D and he's overrated at that. I like Q, but he has no intrinsic value on this NEW Clipper team. We have one of the best PG's in the league! Would you want a guy like Ross running the floor with Baron? Snyder had his best overall....

hahaha, I'm just saying, that's his trade value. And as far as JR Smith goes, we should break the cap a little and offer like 5 mil a year. I don't think the Nuggets would be willing to pay 10 mil next year for him, considering they're significantly over the cap already ....

Aw man... I hate to sound like this but JR Smith, Rickie Davis and Artest belong to the same psyche ward, or should. All three LOOK good, but somehow just don't do the chemistry of their teams any favors. And if (or make that when) discipline is needed, sticking them on the end of the bench might keep them off the court, but it doesn't keep them out of the locker room, where their complaining, bitching and whining....
