No Lamar means it's time to look at trade scenarios since in my opinion there are no remaining quality bigs available. I just want a guy who could do a pretty good job covering for Blake if he gets injured but who normally plays as our third big. Nobody on our roster is even close to third big status right now. ....

Well, if he's abusing drugs, there's no way the Clippers can take Lamar now. At the same time, they should still absolutely refuse to take Jamison. At this point, I would take Lou Amundson over Jamison. ....

Tyrus Thomas and Drew Gooden are still available. I also don't think Jamison is as bad as he was made out to be on the Lakers last season. He just didn't fit the D'Antoni system. Of these three I would probably go with Thomas as he is probably more of an enforcer than Gooden or Jamison can be. ....

i think the top choice right now would be Gooden. he can rebound and he's not a bad defender. he also shoots a free throw pretty well, better than Tyrus Thompson. What about Jason Collins? i don't really know him that well? is he a good fit. ....

I want Drew Gooden. I preferred him over Lamar even before he got hooked on crack and heroine. He played great for us a few years ago. Still a real good overall player, especially for the minimum. He just had a bad situation in Mil. Dude still has something in the tank. ....

Gooden was bad last year scoring-wise, but even then, he hit his free throws and appears to be solid stat-wise. I say the Clippers should go for it. ....

Heroine/crack...No I was just making assumptions lol. He's actually on an interesting mixture of acid and gasoline huffing. Hobbies include sniffing glue and eating crayons. Regardless of the chosen cocktail, I still think Drew Gooden is a better choice than Lam Lam. ....

I like Gooden but don't think he is the best fit.I like the idea of having another big besides Griffin who can score in the post but he is another liability on defense like Crawford. We already lost Bledsoe's defense off our bench and now our only defensive minded player off the bench is Barnes.Collison isn't a bad defender but he doesn't have the size or explosiveness to really bother anyone of defense like Bledsoe did. With how our bench is formed....

Why Gooden? He doesn't really play defense.
Compared to what? Our options are Jamison, Gooden, and I don't even know. Lou Amundson doesn't really play offense or defense. Compared to the Jamison defensively, Gooden is Scotty Pippen reincarnated. I guess I just rather have the best player available and that's Drew Gooden. Al Harrington would have been preferable for me but Gooden is good plan b. ....

Ivan Johnson, Shavlik Randolph, hamed haddadi, Louis Amundson and Antawn Jamison, possible trade options (Brendan wouldn't be a bad option or a Arnett Moultrie or take a chance on Patrick Patterson would rather get Thompson or Hayes instead but unrealisic) probably a few other players, then Drew Gooden- I'm not a fan of his stint here, I wouldn't be upset and had Jamison in this spot a week ago. I'm just disappointed that we sat on players like Bernard James, Jermaine O'neal, Blair, and others.....

Cole Aldrich is probably a better defender than any current Clipper bench big, but he fouls a lot. I say just wait and maybe try and make a trade for Brendan Haywood, though of course that takes Hollins/Mullens minutes (not like people are worried about that). ....

I really think the Clippers should trade for Brendan Haywood. He is a defensive minded big with Championship experience. We could trade Willie Green and Maalik Wayns for him since we don't have a need for them. The downside on Haywood is he isn't a consistent player and is a bad free throw shooter. But those were the knocks on him when he was a starter for the Mavs and Wizards. As a back up playing 10-15 minutes I think he could make an impact....

Yea I think it's a good idea.We might have to give the Bobcats a 2nd rounder or two to sweeten the deal. They have a lot of bigs so if we offer them Wayns,Willie, and a 2nd round pick I think they will take the deal. They already have Al Jefferson,Bismack Biyombo,Cody Zeller,Anthony Tolliver,Josh McRoberts, and Jeff Adrien(not sure his exact position but I think he's a PF). They have a mix of young bigs and veteran bigs so in my opinion I would....

I think they will bring in a few guys to training camp, but probably won't pick up anybody until the later in the season unless someone just blows Doc's mind in training camp. I'm not that high on Beasley, I don't want another scorer (especially one that is as inefficient as him) that lacks on the defensive side. Then you add all the possible locker room issues he brings. The locker room we have could turn him around, but I don't....

I was saying this a few weeks ago. It's a smart idea. Any cons you can list about Haywood don't really matter because of the small but important role he would play...And the fact that we wouldn't give up anything too valuable to get him. He's got 3years left on his contract at 2mil per. That's probably why they won't do the deal but wow, that really makes it attractive for us. To have a guy like....

I was reading about Gary Payton the other day and what he said reminds me of DJ's situation now. Gary said he had been contemplating quitting basketball early in his career. His coach at the time didn't believe in him and would only play him in the first and third quarters. It wasn't until the team got a new coach, who actually believed in Gary's abilities, that Gary started his impressive NBA run. I'm hoping the same thing happens with DJ.....

This is probably New Thread Worthy but I'll let mods make decision. Mark Cuban tweeted this link and I spent about 3 hrs staring at it last night. Pretty awesome. advanced analytics regarding each team's offseason and how they'll fare this season. Extremely detailed down to each player on every team. Primary point is who did the best in off season signings, best value for the buck, and so on. Based on this, Clippers are #1 and Lakers are dead last. Also....

the only thing wrong w/DJ's game is the conjecture here on this board.... he just needs minutes, and.... growing tired of people offering up our draft picks like they're tp.... do people even look at the draft boards for the coming year.... if we are slotted next year about where we were this year, we stand to be able to draft a very competent backup for Blake, pretty much our most glaring need at the moment........

seems like DJ is great/solid value, at least according to the numbers above, and thinking CP3 and our team's ranking for that matter, is a bit inflated, in that the author used a CP3 salary of $60m/5 years rather than the $107m/5 years, which am guessing might knock us down a few pegs,
That was a foopa that will be remedied. In his initial pass CP3's "real" worth in WP was 140 mil. http://wagesofwins.com/2013/07/03/the-nba-offseason-list-part-1/ ....

I'd love to see them get another big since none of our bench bigs are sure thing contributors. Not sure if Melo is the guy but there would have been a lot of the same things said about DJ after his first season if he wouldn't have been in a nurturing environment/bad team where minutes are....
