Return the King of Lobcity, Baron Davis. And then just waive Farmar please. Moral of story just get Farmar off the team.

This has nothing to do with the Clippers, but just want to say Dirk is an absolute legend.

I can only hope CP and BG take the Dirk route at the end of their careers and not the Kobe route.

One of the nicest times for teams is when a long tenured player is getting closer to retirement and they take less money to make things happen. Of course it helps to have guys that age finely and are still playing at that stage of their careers.

What's wrong with West is he's taking his meds? Good two way player, can defend 1/2, can play a little PG, can shoot the outside shot, athletic. Seems like a nice two way all-round role player / glue guy guard to have, again, if he's taking his meds.

If he's taking his med lol. This isn't 2011. If we didn't sign Farmar, I would be fine with him but why are we overloading on 1 spot. If we're gonna gamble on someone might as well do it at the 3 spots.

Its true though, lol if he isn't taking his meds, then he isn't stable enough to be playing. He didn't leave the NBA due to lack of on court production, it was the extra curricular stuff, and we don't have time for that.

We still need a PG though. We have 2-3 more signings to make. We can sign a PG, a wing and a big. We have a lot of wings already and only two players that can play PG. If one of our PG's gets injured we have no backup PG while we are 3 deep at SG and SF.

Thoughts?

Aminu / Dudley / M'Baye

Griffin / Jordan / Hawes / Ed Davis

Looks good to me, a good mix and match of skill and shooting with athleticism and potential, I'd be content with that based on the assets we went into the off-season with.

Nah, now that we have a scoring center, we need a banger/defending PF.

Don't you have to be under the cap

To bid on an amnestied player?

Yea you do, lol, so we can't bid anyways, some under cap team will put a decent sized bid to get him, I doubt he clears amnesty waivers.

Doesn't fit on this team anyways, need more of a defensive big next

If no team Hudson him he becomes an unrestricted free agent,if that were to happen I wouldn't mind boozer off the bench we wouldn't have a issue scoring, and maybe in smaller minutes he can use the extra energy to defend

If Thibedou of all people couldn't get Boozer to defend, I don't have much faith any coach in the NBA (outside of maybe Pop) could.

Some players just aren't going to be good defenders, just like some can't bee become good offensive players. It isn't even about the coaching with him, it's just not part of his abilities / skills.

Wesley Johnson and Big Baby and I'm happy.

Aminu or Shawn Marion and Big Baby and I'm ecstatic.

I hope we can pull off one of these scenarios.

Defense takes some skills, but mostly to be a good defender or rebounder takes more hustle skills. A lot of players get more of the glory/highlights from the offensive numbers. Hustling on defensive/rebounding just isn't as sexy for a lot of guys.

Don't always have to be tall to be a good defender or rebounder, although it obviously doesn't hurt if you have both.Smile

Some guys have terrible awareness though, I don't know how it happens, but its like their brain just can't keep up or read players on defense, Amare is like that. Then there are out of control guys like Hollins who technically isn't a bad defender, but because he fouls so much and sometimes over extends himself, he can hurt the defense. Boozer is a good rebounder though, great effort in boxing out and on the glass actually, but everywhere else defensively, especially as a big man, he is lacking the tools it seems.

He was so lead footed, which meant if a PF faces up, Boozer is getting beat, then your defense is rotating and out of position, in pick and rolls he isn't effective at preventing the ball handler from turning the corner, he is late on rotations, he can't really effectively contest shots. He can hold position well though, that's about all on defense. James Harden is a no effort issue, Boozer though, he isn't devoid of effort, I mean maybe he could add even more, though he might die, but he's just so slow in defensive movement and reaction.

No Metta Peace or bunch of older players, I prefer younger players that can keep up with the speed and defense against other stars 3. Like Wesley Johnson.

We need to convince Shawn marion to be our starting 3 great slasher that we need we have enough shooters we need slashers and tall long defenders

Would be nice, but I'm convinced that a treadmill team will offer him more than the minimum.

I think Marion will go to a team like Houston... or at least I'd zero in on him if I were them.

For the minimum I'd like either Wesley Johnson or Evan Turner. 2yr/$2mil, 2nd yr player option type deal.

If that's our last signing I'd give this offseason an A-, outside of moving Dudley's contract, which isn't terrible, I feel like everything else went as well as we could expect.

exactly, I wonder if Udoh was available when we were negotiating with Glen Davis. We probably wanted a secure signing rather than risk it and lose both Davis and Udoh.

Wes I think would be great. I think given the possibility of quality minutes on a contending team we should be a team of interest to him. That should stay true for Aminu and Evan Turner. I'm on the fence on Evan, personally I think he has potential to be really good or really bad and not too much in between.

I was hoping we'd give Brandon Rush a look, but he went off to Golden State.

Chris Douglas Roberts wouldn't be a bad guy to take a look at in my opinion.

Good. See how long he last there, lol.

Marion still out there and he wants to play for a contender. Maybe...

@ZachLowe_NBA

A few high-profile teams thought they might have a shot at Evan Turner at the minimum. We'll see on final price, but not much risk for BOS.

Make sense for Boston outside of their collection of wings. Brad Stevens is a very analytic guy, he's a good person to really try and direct Turner to his strengths. If he plays well, good, if not, they aren't trying to contend or anything anyways.

I like the "low risk / medium reward"

Quote:
they decided to make a low-risk/medium-reward transaction by signing Evan Turner, according to Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald.

Marion wants to get paid. We only have 1.2mil. If he wants it he's welcome to it but I doubt it.

Marion's already gotten paid...to the tune of 133+ mil in his career. Maybe, just maybe the extra 2-3 mil some team MIGHT paid him won't matter as much as playing for a real contender, unless that team is SA, Houston or ??

Francisco Garcia. Can play 2/3. Good defender. Good size, decent 3pt shooter, and could be signed for cheap.

I like Garcia, but he is just like adding another SG like JJ and Crawford. I'm not sure what you consider good size at the 3, but Garcia is 6'7 195 soaking wet.

Rashard Lewis' 1 year deal with the Mavs has been voided after finding out that he is going to be having knee surgery. Not my ideal last pick up especially since Greg Oden is still out there. On a vet minimum deal Greg Oden can be a huge pay off, I still think he has something in the tank. The way he was playing this last season wasn't great at all but he's been out of the league for quite awhile so some ring rust is to be expected. It doesn't mean that he's completely out of it. It's a huge reward if he were to get healthy enough to at least play an average of 7-10 minutes which I think he's totally capable of. We need one more big, no point in trying to upgrade the 3 anymore. No SF's are out there that can be considered an upgrade, we have Matt Barnes at starter which is solid and IF Jared Dudley has a bounce back season we'll be in good shape.

Yea, Brown doesn't bring much to the table, he's just a really high jumper, but doesn't fill any need on this team
