I wouldn't say he is horrible player. Of course he hasn't been great. His is athletic, and can play D. Has a shaky jumper. I just like his game. He would be wanted if we weren't loaded at SG.

Would Charlotte take back Dudley and hometown Bullock for their third center? Biyombo would help us with defense in the paint and help when our bigs are in foul trouble. Not sure how much Marion is looking for but we would have a little bit more money to work with. Or we can just get the kid from summer league to fill the SF spot.

I don't think the hornets do that because they are actually looking for a little more depth to back Jefferson and Bismack up too.

Didn't they just draft Vonleh? And don't they have Zeller? They would probably do this if they kept McBob.

How do you guys feel about Greg Oden? I really like the risk-reward ratio on him especially since it would be for the minimum. His agent said that he just wants to go somewhere where he has the opportunity to play.

He played a total of only 23 games (starting in 6 of those games) and 212 minutes with the Miami Heat. Averaging 9.2 minutes, 2.3 rebounds, 0.6 blocks, 2.9 points, 55.1% FG, and 56.5% FT. With us I think we give him a great chance at a bounce back year, because even with the second unit he would almost be an after thought.

I would just sign him out right because I do see that Oden still has enough in the tank to be a solid back up big. Though I know Doc Rivers would definitely want to see him go through an entire training camp before he makes a decision. Also there has been a report of the Celtics medical staff saying to stay away from both Oden and Brandon Roy while the two had yet to be drafted. I don't see the harm in at least extending the invitation to training camp. What do you guys think?

Also I hate to be that guy but I honestly think we're stuck with Dudley till the end of his contract. Unless he bounces back this season and we off load him immediately, I don't see any team having any interest in taking on his contract no matter what we package around him.

Pelicans fans like the idea of him a lot, I believe Sixers fans have said some similar things but more in a moving Thaddeus Young sense, so Dudley, expiring, Bullock and a second round pick kind of deal. If our sole goal was just to trade him, sure, we could, but we likely only want to trade him if it actually helps us, so we aren't just jumping at whatever comes our way.

I'm assuming you know that there's no value in just trading him for the sake of trading him because one is mad that he underperformed last season. At the least were better off letting him play and showing he's healthy and can still shoot and increasing his value.

We could move Dudley for a future 2nd round pick to some team with cap space most likely, the issue is that it hurts us. Let's say Barnes gets injured and we have moved Dudley and not added another SF. Now we're not only forced to start Reggie whether he's ready for that role or not, we also have no backup to him. So whatever we think of Dudley, he can still play minutes on an NBA team, and we still need that at SF until further notice.

I'm not saying to just off load him for nothing, I wasn't clear about that. Doubt anyone on here would even think/say such a thing, but I get how you thought that's what I meant. Though I am frustrated by his lack of production this past season. When I said no team had interest in him, I meant that there's no team who is interested in him that can give us something in exchange that will help out the team. Bullock I'm not willing to part with unless the deal is right, he's got a lot of upside to him and I honestly can be developed into our starting SF by the last year of his contract if not the third year.

Honestly, I'm not really sure we know how much of his potential Bullock can reach, we've seen too little to truly say either way, and at his draft position, you never know, it's up in the air. I hope he does develop into a nice role player though. We do need to understand that his ceiling is an above average role player, so we need to clarify what potential means here. Thing is, if we are upgrading, which a guy like T.Young would easily be, then certainly Bullock isn't going to be the guy holding us back in such a move, that would be dumb of us. For example, Young put up numbers Reggie will likely never put up in his career (even per minute) in his second season at 20 years old, so of course.

Yea, I wasn't sure what you meant, but there's at least JQuick who thinks getting rid of Dudley would magically solve all the teams problems and give us cap space somehow. I think it is hard because we basically want to trade a SF to a team and get a better SF back, trades generally don't work that way, that's why it is so hard for us to find a team to give us what we want. If we were trying to trade for a different position / need then we would be more likely to make something happen.

If we want to move Dudley and improve at SF, trade deadline when people start making certain decisions could be a more plausible time, but also we would have to add a sweetner, maybe help the team improve at another position or give them something. So if it is a good enough player, we'd have to do something like move him with Jamal, so yea, it's certainly not easy to say take our SF who just had a bad season and give us your SF with currently better trade value.

I think it's in the best interest of the Clippers to wait till the trade deadline to part ways with our question mark players like Bullock and Dudley. No point in selling low right now when there's a better than good chance that they will both be better than last year, which essentially will drive up their value.

And in a perfect world Dudley will return to PHX Dudley and we won't have to trade him.

Repped High Quality Post

In a perfect world (for us at least) Dudly would start balding, get a little darker, get stronger, more athletic, and change his first and last name to Lebron James.

I recon it's worth taking a risk on Okafor or Oden if we can get one of them on a vet minimum contract (preferably Okafor). Both offer the sort of rim protection we won't get from big baby or Hawes. Another option is Udoh if he'd be willing to take the minimum. You guys like any of these 3?

Okafor has actually proven he can play at the NBA level, so I would prefer him the most.

Udoh

Okafor

And Oden

In that order

You'd take Udoh over Okafor? I think I'd rather take the chance of Okafor being healthy than just settle for Udoh. Udoh is just meh while Okafor can actually be good.

No to all those guys. IF Okafor was healthy he is a no brainer. But he hasn't played an entire season. His latest Injury a herniated disk in his neck, which obviously isn't healing properly.

Oden is another injury riddled player. Why the hell would anyone want him?

Udoh is str8 garbage.

I'd take my chances with hollins over any of these guys. Hell I'd rather bring back Paul Davis. lol.

You obviously don't remember Paul Davis Wink no back up big was better than him, lol.

Maybe Udoh could bring something but the others can't even make it off the hospital bed onto the court, sadly

Oden, LOL. Remember when Heat fans were saying that Oden was going to be solution to all their problems with a lack of size, and people actually thought he was going to help him. Other than rejecting Blake in that one game last year, I don't even think I saw him play. Absolutely no way on Oden or Okafor(that neck injury really scares me.). Let's get someone who can actually run and up down the court without suffering a career ending injury please.

Dangit, post a source. Copy and paste the link at the very least. Don't make us scour the internet to see if you actually found something, or just pulling our leg.

EDIT: Here's the source, for those who were wondering:

Yeah I saw the Blatche, Oden, Bynum & Emeka Okafor tweets earlier too. Blatche is really the only one that has shown he still has game. The other ones are really gambles but we don't really have anything to lose.

I really want Blatche!!!! Shocked that he can be had for the vet min. His offensive game is great for a big, like half a step below Hawes' level. Doesn't solve much on defense but who would at this point?

I really like us looking at Okafor and Blatche. If we land Blatche I seriously can see Big Baby dropping out of rotation which isn't good because we need him playoff time and he might....

If you want rebounding/defense get Emeka. If you want scoring get Blatche.

If Emeka is healthy in the workout he is a no brainer. He's played with Chris Paul before and he's a good character guy.

I'm definitely not opposed to Blatche. I even would've considered giving him the full MLE if we couldn't have gotten Hawes.

Blatche is actually a really good defender and rebounder just sometimes he will hang on the high post a little more which can affect his rebounding numbers. If we could pick him up, combined with Hawes this would be a great off season!

Blatche is a good rebounder and a pretty good defender, but what I'm saying is Okafor is a lot better at those things and we need those things.

Can't go wrong either way though.

So now it's down to either Emeka or Okafor. Oden and Bynum aren't options.

Quite surprised about the lack of interest in Blatche, thought his time in NJ gave him more positive reviews. Our bigs are guys who have had very healthy regular seasons though, so where would the minutes come for a guy like Blatche? Basically we'd be looking at stocking 5 bigs who all require playing time. Two with 30+ (DJ and Blake) and then if you only played Blake 30 MPG, you'd have 36 minutes to share between 3 other guys each game.

Seems like a weird choice of team to go to for the minimum for Blatche and probably not a good choice for us to get him in a situation where we can offer him desirable minutes and where he would most likely be frustrated and not actually as productive as you would like.

Didn't Sam Cassel coach Okafor in DC?

So maybe doc talks to Sam Cassel about what he thinks and he has something to do about signing him?

Why would we need Baby in the playoffs if he is out of the rotation? The rotation only gets tighter in the playoffs, so he wouldn't be playing then either.

I like Okafor because we probably need another defensive / shot blocking / rebounding big. Still no one knows his recovery post injury.

Looks like no blatche for us I got this off of hoopsrumors

12:11pm: Andy Miller, the agent for Blatche, disputes the report, telling Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times that his client has no workout scheduled with the Clippers (Twitter link).

Blatche would be ideal but maybe not a possibility. Too bad he's such a douchebag, he's a good player. Okafor would be a good 1-year rental if he's actually healthy.

Bynum and Oden would be a waste of time imo.

Agent0

Since we have 4 bigs already, unless we are saving a roster spot for something specific, Okafor is a good sign and stash and hope he's healthy. Really no risk since the team doesn't need a 5th big to have a solid big man rotation and the reward if he's decently healthy is good for the role. He could play like 10-12 mpg off the bench.

Looks like in the wake of Paul's injury the pacers are trying to pursue Marion per hoopsrumors

The Pacers are looking to make an impact addition in the wake of Paul George's injury and today's development out of Indiana comes as no surprise. The Pacers are making a strong push on free agent forward Shawn Marion and have placed calls on him in recent days, a league source tells Shams Charania of RealGM (on Twitter).

I know people are upset with Doc about this last trade because he gave up a prospect, a pick, and a bench bum. Obviously our bench needs some help still and I'm not sure Nate Robinson or Prince will be the answer with Prince being old and Robinson having a down year. What if we were to go after someone like Seth Curry (pg) and Mychel Thompson (sg/sf)? For one, it would mess with their brothers every time we played Golden State. The other thing is that they really played well together in the D League in the past and I think they would be good complementary players to Crawford on the bench. Check out "Santa Cruz Splash Brothers: Seth Curry & Mychel Thompson" on Youtube if you want to see for yourself. Curry has a shooting stroke like his brother and Thompson attacks the rim fairly well.
