I don't know if he was on that list of renounced players, but we REALLY need to get rid of Dan Dickau. I love the clippers but i HATE DICKAU. I would rather bring Fred Hoiberg out of retirement. We should ship Dickau to Orlando for Reddick. We'll blow him up as a "Gonzaga Star!!!"

Dickau gets my vote for being the worst non-post player in the NBA.

^^agreed. dickau was way too clumsy and could barely handle the ball

Dickau is a free agent. It took way too long for him to become one. It was horrible watching him play. I think he had 1 decent game last year. He needs to retire with Smush. They both need to find a job doing something else. Or go to the D-league.

sorry, but we don't have our midlevel. I would be so down to get childress though. he's a local guy too and im sure would love to play here.

Why don't we have our mid-level?

Azubuike can play. If we can pick him up, no joke, I'd give us home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs

The mid-level is only for teams who enter free-agency over the cap. Currently we are about 2mil below the cap. Therefore, if we sign a player for that much and go over the cap, we still wouldn't be allowed the MLE. That's why it's called an exception, it's an exception for teams who are aren't able to spend money of free agents, unlike us who entered the free agency with money to spend. Hopefully that helps clarify.

With the recent signing on Camby, I feel ecstatic, but unfortunately, INCOMPLETE.

I still feel we have one more move to make before everything is said and done.

Trade? Sign? Sign-and-trade?

Dude, what's up with all these laker fans bashing on the clippers on this website.

Why can't they just leave us alone and celebrate the arrival of bombass nba players.

Why can't they just shut the hell up?

WHY? i'll tell you why. they're jealous that clippers are actually making moves. I'd be jealous, tell you the truth. Basically, the lakers are relying on andrew bynum to bring them the championship. That's their excuse for not winning. I mean, that's cool, cuz the lakers were close to winning it all, but laker fans(kobe fans) know they need to improve their roster a little bit.

As far as clippers go, I'm glad everything happened this offseason. It's gives us more reason to enjoy being a clipper fan. Imagine Clippers vs. Lakers, even better Clippers vs. Warriors, and the best Clippers vs. 76ers. The hype is there, the excitement is in store.

GUARANTEE this season is going to be so crazy. Sold out games left and right, winning games left and right, spectacular plays on both sides of the court. But seroiusly...

what's next?

Josh Childress?

Josh Smith?

Shaun Livingston?

No your the good Lakerfan, we enjoy you here. As for Brand leaving he actually forgot where L.A was so his agent Faulk took him to philly cause we used to give Faulk weggies, but the sixers claimed they'd only push Faulk out of the way, no weggies.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/stor ... FreeAgents

check out the list of Unrestricted FAs in the above espn.com link....like I said in a previous post: WHY ARE WE NOT NEGOTIATING WITH RICKY DAVIS!!!

sure he is a bad seed like most of you said, but if we can get him cheap, what do we got to lose? if he acts up, Coach D will stick him at the end of the bench....if he plays to his potential..WOW!!

Other notable Unrestricted Free Agents:

Water Hermann: can hit the 3-ball....like i said: we need THREES now.

Matt Barnes: a lot of us have welcomed this versatile bench acquisition

Flip Murray: no 3-ball, but provides scoring, which we could use too...

Kareem Rush: started to heat up from 3 pt. range, and could be pretty cheap...

Gordan Giricek: another shooter that would help our bench

These guys are all UNRESTRICTED...we need to be the front runners in negotiating and signing some deals before someone else, with these guys...let's get RICKY!!!

that's true...too bad we couldn't get Earl before and had to settle for Brevin...i think earl was available at the time...but ****, depending on how much it costs, I say we sign Earl back anyway...i think DTS likes him, cuz of fan appeal, but Earl can win us about 3-4 games additional alone, based on his 4th qtr. production!

plus I saw Mike Taylor in a summer league game on nbatv, and I'm not sold on him, even as a 3rd string...I'm completely sold on DEANDRE JORDAN, however...very excited about his prospect

yeah, Deandre is definantly a steal for us but i think mike taylor just needs a little more experience and he'll do fine, he has potential but he needs to play it slow and think instead of just turning the ball over constantly

Yeah, that was the knock on him pre-draft. He rushes and sometimes doesn't keep his head up. Results in turnovers.

yeah, but dunleavy is a take it easy kind of coach. he'll teach mike taylor to have more control and take his time.

i think baron davis would be a great mentor for mike taylor because dunleavy can teach him how to slow things down and baron can teach him the run and gun type of play

I really cant wait to see who the clips are signing today, and I kinda agree that it will be one of our FA. On a side note Marcus Williams had a great summer league game yesterday with 23 and 10, good to see him putting up a good one.

we need 3 point shooters so i hope the clips can bring back brent barry so he can finish his career as a clip plus he still has the sweet stroke (make our bench deeper...... and livingston we dint trade him to get AI and stuck with him trough his injuries so why why not bring him back i really think he has a lot left just a lil patience

I believe Barry has already signed with Houston.

I like Livingston, and would like to give him one chance at a reduced price. Whether he wants to come back is another question.

Id offer livingston $5 and an xbox 360.

This guy was such a tease to us fans. The clippers were there throughout his rehab and he is talking about how he doesnt know if he will be a fit with the clippers? Seriously though, I wouldnt mind giving him the min with a second year team option. No more and no less.

Everybody loves Shaun but we have Davis and Taylor. He hasn't played hard at all yet so don't know what he can do. You're buying a million dollar pig'n'a poke. Money spent on him could be better used to get POWELL

If the Warriors match our offer for Azubuike who do you think could be the next target??

How do you see Danthay Jones? I watched many games of him when he played for the Grizz and he was an OK player. He's a good defender and can score as he's proving in this summerleague with the Nuggets roster. I think he's an interesting option although I doubt he could fill the SF position, he's more a SG Opinions?

Quote from Clipsnation.com We have no MLE so all we do have is Vets Minimum to sign players.

The idea of renouncing the salary cap exceptions seems to be tripping everyone up, and with good reason. But in this case, it's really pretty straightforward. The minute the Clippers signed an external free agent (i.e. Baron Davis) they essentially gave up all of their exceptions even if they did not specifically renounce them at that time. They had to get under the salary cap to sign Baron, and the exceptions exist only for the use of teams who are over the salary cap. If the mid level exception is $5.8M, and the team is $6M under the cap, they can spend $6M, but they can't spend $11.8M. So either the Clippers had to officially renounce the MLE to make room for Camby or they didn't, but it's not relevant at this point. The relevant number is how far under the actual cap they are.

I would say there has to be someone out there looking for a job that can still hit an outside shot. It won't be House because he can get more somewhere else. It has to be someone a little farther on down the line willing to take less to be on a great team.

Style of play in phoenix suited him. He is still extremely streaky, but may be a nice spark off the bench. At this point, I do not see him coming back to LA tho.
