The Phoenix Suns are short on point guards and, after missing out on Chris Duhon and Anthony Johnson and with Tyronne Lue also looking at the Celtics, a player of interest appears to be Shaun Livingston, the East Valley Tribune is reporting.
One of the league's bright up-and-coming point guards, Livingston crumpled on a drive to the basket, injuring nearly every part of his left knee (torn anterior cruciate ligament, posterior cruciate ligament and lateral meniscus, a sprained medial cruciate ligament, and a dislocated patella tendon).
Livingston, 22, has not played for 17 months.
As we all have realized in Shaun's blogs and interviews, he hasn't given us much hope for him to return to the Clippers. Now that we have signed Taylor, as well as having Knight and Davis under contract, I can't see us even making an offer to him. Where would he play? We already have Cat and Gordon at SG. That being said, he's not worth a lot due to his injury so I assume would could offer whatever Phoenix may offer him but seeing as he has a much better chance to be the suns starting PG than starting for us, I think he'd take it. Barron will most likely be our starting PG for no less than 4 years (most likely the 5 though) It really would be in Shaun's best interest. Never thought we'd lose him though. But it's obviously time for change and everyone is moving on so why not him. |

| Odds are livi wont even be able to play next season. His knee is that bad. They say he may resume playing at around the 50-60 game mark. And we could offer him something based off games played or give him a small contract and he will sit this season and resign him next. Its very risky to rush him back considering he had a injury usually seen in football, and its is usually career threatening. So i think teams are reluctant to sign him right now. |

| let's face it...even if shaun comes back, the kid injured his knee that bad on a wide open fast break dunk..i'd understand if shaq slammed him down or some sh#t...his body is too weak for professional sports, and is a lot weaker now...i loved him and still do, but its just not good for us...i loved his defense at such a young age..he helped big time 2 yrs ago when we went to POs...oh well |

We would have Taylor too, not just Knight. Though we don't know how Taylor will transition into the NBA. Yeah Livingston would be nice I just really don't see him coming back here if he has other options. Though I hope he does. Hopefully we hear some news soon on who management will be bringing back. |

| If they offer him a minimum salary deal for 2 yrs and say he didn't take then I think the clippers have gone as far as they can go with him. With hi injury he needs atleast 2 yrs to rehab. Maybe a year or two from now he may play a full season but definitely not next. If they did resign him they would have to put him on the inactive list every other game. He's not even ready to be a back up for every game. If you got rid of Knight that would mean Taylor would be the back up on days Livi's knee swells up again, or has tendinitis. Anyone that takes Livi now is taking on a project that might not be ready for a year or two. |

| I still think the Clips should have offered a little big of money. He is not worth anything more than 5 mil right now because we don't know how he will perform.. Clips made a mistake on this one. |

| well, however big the mistake, it'll never be too big, since we still got Baron who will go a ton of minutes for the next couple years at least...we could always draft a good PG to groom with our 1st rounder next year...don't we have Minnesota's 1st pick that is unprotected next year? thanks to the marko jaric/cassell deal.... |

| It sucks because he was viewed as a guard who soon would be compared to Magic Johnson, and I still think he can come back someday strong but, he is without a doubt injury prone at the moment, and say we do keep him, I don't want to rush him back. I think this is cool though livi for Barbosa, Barbosa a.k.a the brazilian blur, I'm sure he'd like to rival Kobe after the coment he said about him lol. But yeah I was sad to see that injury because he was just getting back on track. |

This year it is not protected. They can only keep protecting it for a number of years and this was there last. |

| I'm pretty sure the Minny pick is top ten protected for two more years. So unprotected summer of 2011. |

| They have built up their team so hey if they can get it together sooner rather then later would be good for us but I'm not holding my breath. I think they will make it out of the bottom ten this year. |
