LAS VEGAS

First Atlanta’s Josh Childress headed overseas, signing a lucrative deal from a Greek club. Now Houston’s Carl Landry is entertaining offers from across the Atlantic.

Lakers’ Sasha Vujacic also has been contacted by several European clubs, according to a Slovenian newspaper. (Probably a good move for him considering no NBA clubs have expressed interest in signing the restricted free agent).

Kobe Bryant said he wouldn’t be surprised if Vujacic takes the money and runs to Europe (if the rumors are true) considering the Lakers aren’t offering him more than a qualifying one-year deal worth $2.6 million.

“It depends on how much money they’re throwing at him,” Bryant said. “You got rules (NBA’s salary cap), so you’re playing with an uneven playing field. So if they want to throw a boatload of money at him.”

Such as two years, $50 million? That’s the amount Bryant jokingly said it would take for him to leave the Lakers and play in Europe.

“If he gets that, I’m calling Rob Pelinka (his and Vujacic’s agent) right now (and telling him) you better get me $150 million for two years,” he said laughing.

Recently, Kobe said he was optimistic the Lakers could sign Vujacic

Nothing would be more American than a parade through downtown Los Angeles in June with a Red, White and Blue theme!

His name is Sasha. Noone with the name Sasha should be aloud to play any sport. period. He should only be around for noogies, wedgies, and swirlies

His name is irrelevant. The problem is his reputation as a defender is unfounded and his offense comes only when the team holds a comfortable lead. The one positive of getting him would be to deplete the LAL bench but that's not enough reason.

He does not fill any need. I dont hate the guy, we just do not need him. We have 2 PGs, 2 SGs, 1.5 SFs, 1.5 PFs, and 1 C. The holes are at big man and wing....

Josh powell is still under contract. So we have 2 PF. I think he will be decent backup.

we have a good solid starting 5...i personally jus wanna get quality guys on the bench and run with'em...didn't we draft Kandi cuz we needed a center? LOL..j/k..i kno kandi was top prospect...but needs shouldn't be overrated over talent...Sasha will hurt the lakers if he leaves..that is a big plus in itself

We def. don't need Sasha. If the Lakers don't want a player...it truly means they are garbage. In the past they have gotten rid of players like Devean George, Mo Evans, Smush...and they did it for a reason, cuz they suck. They know Turiaf is just a back up and not worth big money...same goes for Sasha.

Now that Azubuike will be staying with the Warriors I'd say the Clippers should try and make a offer for Sasha Vujacic.

They do want sasha but whatever they pay him would basically be double. So if they were to offer him a contract for 3 mil it would basically cost them 6 since they are over the cap. I am scared of players that perform well under contract years so i dont know about him. If he can shoot the three why would you not want him. Thats instant offense in the run and gun. That would be a great addition.

Don't know for sure what, they'll do, btw the warriors re-signed Ellis today to a multi year contract, so he's not to be discussed.

Even though Sasha has some big shots, I think he is pretty inconsistent and not worth the money.

Before his contract year, he shot awful. He brings absolutley nothing but a 3 point shot. Dunleavy wont go for that kind of player.

You're an idiot. First off, that's a stupid reason. Secondly, his real name is Alexander.

And this would be a great signing for the Clips. It wouldn't happen because other than obvious ones, management is oblivious to young talent (exceptions Eric Gordon (i think) and of course Baron Davis). For all who said he was inconsistent last year, he was the most consistent bench player for a finals team (albeit losing team but still finals) who often played in crunch time for a very veteran favoring coach, Phil Jackson. He is a feisty player who plays a bit out of control sometimes, but brings great intensity and energy when he comes into the game. And if the best player in the game loves him as a player/teammate, then I'm sure he is doing something right. But Clippers fans don't know what talent is when they see it because they're not used to it. Hopefully the Clips can get back into the playoffs this year but in the ultra-talented West, that doesn't seem very likely. Go Lakers! Very Happy

sasha is horribke and so is your advice to have signed him... thank God he signed with the lakers so i dont have to wake up worrying each morning as i check hoopshype at the possibility we signed his lopping i only make threes when my team is ahead and cant play D butt Sasha. seriously the idea of trying to spite the lakers is retarded. Grow up sometime clippers fan if we ever want to be taken seriously...
