Jason Hart was waived Thursday by the Sacramento Kings on the last day a player could be waived and still be on a roster for the playoffs. After he clears waivers Tuesday, reports say that a deal has already be struck for him to join the Clippers. Jason is a 30 year old vet PG out of Syracuse who has been in the league for 6 seasons.

Hart was traded from Charlotte to the Kings for a second-round pick in 2005. He came to the Kings after the 2004-05 season, during which he posted career highs with 9.5 points per game and 5 assists in 74 games for the Bobcats. He is a Los Angeles native who works out with the Clippers at their practice facility during the offseason.

So the Clips have filled a temporary need with the only guy who was readily available. Let's hope he has game.

I think the Clippers are saying to the Kings: "Thank you very much!" Smile

When you look at Jason's number this year, 50% from the field, 50% from the 3, 90% from the free throw line, you might would think, well this guy can really shoot. But when he was traded from the Bobcats to the Kings he was buried behind 2 PG's that were already there. He played less than Daniel Ewing does for the Clips. But when you look at his last season with the Bobcats where he got to play 74 games, his numbers still looked pretty good. He looked like a young PG starting to come into his own. Having said that, the Clippers do not ask their PG's to do very much. We do not run the break, we do not push the ball up the floor, and when we set up our offense, we just might be the only NBA team who never uses their PG's to penetrate the lane and dish off to shooters. Will Bynum came in and ran the Clippers offense adequately after only 1 day of practice. But adding Hart certainly can't hurt.

Yeah it shouldn't hurt especially since he's had experience with a successful team like the San Antonio Spurs.
