I think DJ fits well and he is still growing, maybe needs a little bit more strength to hold up against the bulkier big men of the league. He is doing well and I think he will continue to get better as the team continues to get better.

DJ and Blake continue to get better at their rotations in my opinion. As long as our perimeter players keep to get better at stopping dribble penetration our bigs will continue to do better too. I think Jackson will help this quite a bit.

I would really like to see Bullock play the 2 guard a little more, and think once he comes back he could get some playing time there since we got Jackson.

Is Jackson and Barnes to redundant, or can Barnes play the two guard. I know they both can play the 4 spot in a small line up, but I think we can have quite a defensive small ball line up if we have Bullock at the two, Barnes at the 3, and Jack at the 4 without losing as much rebounding potential.

Anyways, I think we need a solid back up center. With Jackson here now, I think it might be better to get someone who can convincingly play the 5. I think the only way we can get a solid back up at the 5 is by trading Jcross or Dudley.

What would it cost us if we just waived Mullen, so we could pick up a big. I think Griffin and DJ are playing to many minutes.

Clips Get - M.Gasol/Aminu Grizz Get - Jordan/Anderson Peli's Get - Randolph/Dudley

I would be bummed to get rid of DJ, but I'm starting to question whether Blake and DJ can operate together to maximize each others potentials. Instead of Blake having to facilitate for DJ, now Gasol can do the same for Blake and spread the floor on offense. Memphis gets a rebuilding Center and a floor spacer they've been coveting forever. Pelicans get the perfect partner to go along with Ant Davis and a shooter at the SF spot.

It's rare for a 3 team trade to happen with all the teams being in the same conference, but I think the stat geeks over at the Grizzlies FO won't care about trading to a rival team.

AFAIK, Asik is a better defender than DJ, and a better free throw shooter.

That's really about it though. Plus, if we get him, he will have to start no matter what.

CapsNClips: That's a dream trade right there. Too bad I can't see the Grizzlies ever giving up Marc or Zach unless it was 100% clear that it's time to rebuild.

I hate to say it, but M Gasol would be perfect for Blake. A burly big who may not block shots but is a SOLID defender and deadly from mid range. Would totally allow Blake to do his thing inside. SIGH...never happen in a million years.

Only way Memphis would honestly get rid of Gasol is if they got draft picks in return, which we don't have, but we do have a young athletic Center which I would think is the next best thing for a rebuilding team.

This is all assuming Grizzlies are rebuilding. Maybe they aren't.

They would, and probably should start thinking of trading Zach. He's not good enough to take $18M of cap, and they have hit a wall. If he was a two way player (and he's been part of some nice defense, don't get me wrong), or a better passer, or younger, then you can continue to roll with it.

It is probably time for them to explore other avenues.

Gasol though? Don't think so.

Yea, that's good and all, but team probably wants a better than 25% 3PT shooter at SF (yes, Dudley has been awful, so far, but Turner has consistently been poor). He's shot well one year of his 3, but his attempts are also really low.

Turner isn't really a good fit for this team both because of his poor spot up shooting, and that he's only been effective in a high usage role which he can't get on LAC.

Probably some better options fit wise out there.

Not only did you saddle us with a chucker in Melo, but Byron Mullens is now our starting center. Congratulations, I think you've come up with one of the worst trades in this topic. This is the sort of trade someone would do in order to make sure the Clippers are irrelevant for the next ten years, if not more.

Again people, there are no quick fixes (like a trade) for this team. I know most of these are just hypotheticals/pie in the sky scenarios. Just reiterating, that's all.

Bledsoe got 28 last night. If we played Bledsoe at sf (he has 6'7" reach) and some 2 guard we would not look like a non-playoff team. That is going to go down as another of worst Clip moves in history.

. Melo isn't a chucker, he's a scorer. Too many people say that BG and CP aren't aggressive enough, but the truth of the matter is that that's just not in their game. They are pass first players. We need a player that's a superstar but also is aggressive. Melo would do that for us. Sure Mullens sucks, but who was miamis center the last 3 finals? It's not hard to get a center that's a FA to sign. Cp,Melo, and BG would make the clippers unguardable. You're basically saying you would rather keep DJ over a player who averages 26-27 PTs a night. That makes no sense

I dont know how to post a URL to the trade machine, but tried this one. Heat are shopping Anthony and want some backcourt presence. Joel Anthony IMHO is a decent backup C, an above average defense guy. Awful ball handler and even struggles trying to catch the ball, but I like his defensive presence. Not the greatest trade of them all, but I feel like we could have a use for him. Plus, we get a sniper.

I wouldn't do it because Melo is better at the 4 now and surely going forward. It's not going to work with Blake.

Rumors today from "sources" are Blake/Duds for Melo. Hate it. Wouldn't trade Blake in any circumstance unless it's Durant or Bron.

. He doesn't even play The 4 on the Knicks, he only plays the 4 when they're shorthanded. Naturally he's a 3. He's just versatile, if anything it's a plus that you get a player who can play 2 positions. Were basically going in the playoffs with the same team as last year, and if you guys think were winning a championship with this roster, then you guys are crazy. Why wouldn't Blake do well with Melo? Because Melo would open up the court with him way more for him? Because Jared wouldn't be here anymore? Because Melo would be the only player on our team that can take the ball from the 3pt line and drive in the paint not being afraid of body contact? Or because teams could never double Blake again leaving Melo and JJ open for an uncontested shot?

If the Clippers trade BG for Melo, I'm out. I can handle losing and everything that goes with it, but I can't handle non-loyalty. We've already stated Blake is a Clipper for life, can't go back now.

These are just stupid Knicks based rumors, haven't seen one legit west coast source say this is a possibility.

Melo is better then Blake.. Those of u on Blake's side need to realize that this is a new culture and we want to win.. U guys are putting the same things that kept up losing, loyalty to one player and not on the fan base to win.. So I say do it.. Blake will always only be a good 3rd guy but never a number 2 option.. We may feel sad.. Heck I will.. But in the end we will be a lot better.. If u want to leave as a fan for a player.. Go ahead shows how much of a fan u really are.. I'm a die hard clipper fan in a sea of laker fans around me.. No matter what they do.. As long it's to get better..I'm all in

I would like to know how is Melo beter than Blake?

Melo has been to many 1 and done playoffs in his career (with arguably better coaching til Doc got here). Blake is an overall better player. Not as good a scorer but he can still put up 20 a night. Blake is the better defender and play-maker and is younger than Melo which means he can still get better.

Let us also not forget that if it was not for Blake we would not be where we are now. Yes Paul made us into contenders (two different things) but Blake put us on the map. That is why people do not want to give up on him.

Lets face it. It took the Heat, with 2 superstars and a borderline super all-star (already established as such) 2 years to win anything. We are going in with a superstar, a border line superstar, and a border line all-star into a season, 1/4 of season at that, and we are freaking out!!!

This is new waters for us, especially the long suffering fans, imagine how this guys feel. Most of them, if not all of them, have not won anything and are now put into a stressful situation of win now or else.

a 6'7 reach is below average for a SG, it's the small SG's reach, so I'm not even sure how he even used reach to justify that, lol.

Naturally he's a 3 but as he gets older he's gonna be more of a 4. He's already slower. Most important though is he doesn't know how to play with 4 other guys. Our offense is based on movement, like most decent offenses in the game, and we have two of the most unselfish stars in the game. I don't want to add thee most selfish guy in the game and lose our center and all wing depth in the process. Denver got better when they sent him out and they're still a lot better team than the Knicks despite a huge disparity in payroll.

He's a bad fit. I doubt even the desperate/disfunctional Lakers would take him this summer. Not a team player and not good enough win on his own.

Melo is better scorer. Blake is better at EVERYTHING else that happens on a basketball court. Plus he's the identity of our franchise. There's before Blake and after Blake. Everything that happened before him, in the history of the franchise was a failure, literally thee worst franchise in sports. He changed everything. You don't send him out when he's entering his prime in exchange for a ball hog who's exiting his prime. That's the kind of $hit the Knicks do and they've been a joke for decades.

I only trade Blake for KD or Bron and even that would be a bit heartbreaking.

. I disagree, just because a player get older doesn't mean he changes positions. Stephen Jackson is super old and he's still a 3 and so are most other players that age. Melo isn't even old btw, and is not slow, he's in his prime. He can still get by a lot of defenders easily. Maybe he does take a lot of shots, but he's in a system where his coach runs a lot of isolation plays for him. That's THEIR, system. The coach rather him shoot the ball than anyone else, he had a system in Denver where he was supposed to shoot a lot too. Denver got better because they had a team full of selfish players when they had Melo, when they traded him they got back team players. But we need a selfish player that will take over and attack opposing teams, we don't get that consistently from Blake and Cp. But Melo will do it, he's a too 3 small forward in the NBA

Carmelo isn't necessarily better at the 4, Carmelo is the type of player that needs a point guard that can utilize his offensive tools to his peak potential but also a player that can lead him to make better team decision. i believe the sheer fact that Blake griffin and Chris Paul are unselfish players would allow him to thrive on the clippers. additionally it would allow Paul-Griffin pick and roll to be more fluid because Carmelo could command a double team which would make it hard for teams to collapse on the pick roll.
