Give a 2nd rounder + BJ to Raps for Amir Johnson.

You do know Masai Ujiri gets paid to manage his team in a positive way, right?

And if they say no, go back with a better offer... a 2nd rounder ONLY!

Mullens is the only "BJ" that no man is interested in getting.

Just throwing out something for Amir... Not saying it's a fair trade.

Raps still haven't decided if they want to tank or go for playoffs. Tanking might be the best way for the team and Masai knows it. Raps need draft picks to rebuild, Amir's a solid hustle player that Clips need.

^ I like him too. I think he'd fit well with the 2nd unit, but NOBODY'S Taking Mullens off our hands.

Why fix something that ain't broken? Were just FINALLY after two months starting to kick on all defense and offensive cylinders, and y'all want to make a trade? Redick isn't even back for us, and were ripping teams, Chill

We can't trade any 2nd round picks because we technically don't own any, and a strait up trade for Mullens for Amir Johnson can't be completed because Amir makes around 5 to 6 million and Mullens makes 1.3 million, we have a trade exception but only for about 2.5 million but that's about it. Raptors would do that trade since they're shredding salary and Mullens is a viable trade piece since his contract is fairly low, it's a 2 year deal, and I think the 2nd year is non guaranteed. Plus if they blow up their Team then they would be trying to Tank for Jabari, witch means they don't want world beater's.

The talk is of trading a player that never plays, and getting a decent back up big is probably going to complete a team that is coming together. I don't see why this is a problem.

Fair enough... Mullens' removal from the rotation has coincided with us "kicking on all cylinders" and "ripping teams", and we've been VERY lucky our bigs have been healthy... but maybe it's just bad JuJu to trade a victory cigar for some much-needed insurance up front.

Amir is someone I'd love to have, BUT;

  1. He makes 6.5 mil.

  2. Cannot combine the TE with a player in a trade.

  3. It would probably have to include at least 2 players (most likely from the wings to make the $ match) from us not named Mullins.

  4. We are very close to the "hard" cap and that puts a damper on some deals we may want to do.

The Raptors just dumped Bargnani, no way they would want the homeless man's version, even if the contracts worked.

They are trying to make the playoffs and are 4-1 since trading the chucker Rudy Gay.

You really think the GM wants to make the PO's? I think he's pissed every time they win and will continue to shred that roster until they're sufficiently bad.

Mullens is a good bet in that case. He's been largely useless, check. He's cheap, check. He's still young with some potential to get better some day, check.

Seems like a good match. There's not much on that team I'd want other than Amir or JV but who knows.

I wouldn't mind Hansbrough.

Btw I don't think the Raptors want to make the playoffs. Its just that their team right now is too good to tank and even though Rudy Gay was helping them lose you shouldn't give up the opportunity to dump him just for the sake of tanking.

They are at a weird position. They want a good pick, but they also want to be competitive. You have to understand the conflict there because the fans have witnessed a lot of poor teams, so they don't want to continue down that path, but also want to have a chance at Andrew.

If he wanted to loose though, trading Gay is a terrible way to accomplish that. Gay was killing their offense. Trading a turnover prone chucker doesn't help you loose more games as their offense is better now, and Gay wasn't doing anything note-worthy on defense.

The players they are trying to trade are Lowry first, then maybe DeRozan. Amir is one of those nice value guys that teams don't look to trade just for then sake of doing so.

LAC trades:

Willie Green

Atlanta trades:

Gustavo Ayon

That's a trade that can help the Clippers, but doesn't really do much for ATL

Exactly, we already see that with him getting any minutes at all is bad. He's just sitting on the bench so it makes sense to trade him for...anybody

In that regard yes, there may be some value to Mullens. What surprises me is how Toronto keeps rebuilding and rebuilding. Was't Rudy Gay supposed to be the centerpiece to this new direction the team was supposed to have

Los Angeles is still a threat to poach Carmelo Anthony from the New York Knicks. It's just not the Hollywood-based team you're thinking of. According to Hoopsworld's Steve Kyler, the Los Angeles Clippers-not Los Angeles Lakers-are....

If we get melo by trading BG then it's gonna be hard for me to root for this team. Don't turn back on the player who turned the franchise around

Raps are taking a wait and see approach at the moment. Though tanking's probably the best option. Maybe throw in Barnes, BJ, future 2nd for Amir? We have too many wing players.

In Brian Colangelo's mind, LOL. If he we're still in charge he may have been the one who thought there was SOME value in Mullins. Now that they got a real astute GM, they are getting rid of their trash and are trending in the right direction.

Maybe DeRozen is next out the door. wink

^You are correct sir. Maybe find an injured team in need of a SG and do a three way with Green going there, something going to ATL and Ayon to LAC

Bleacher Report, lol

Amir is a pipe dream. He's been beasting lately, it's going to take a first round pick and Bullock to at least have Masai Ujiri's interest.

Clippers don't really have first round picks to throw around.

Amir Johnson last 10 games:

16.9 pts / 9.4 rebs / 1.0 stl / 1.4 blk / 1.4 tov / 66.4% FG / 42.9% 3PT (0.7 3PA) / 80.0% FT / .698 TS% / 133 Ortg / 33.6 MPG

Drool.....

He wouldn't be a one year rental either because he has a team option for $7M next season. 3 big rotation of Blake, DJ, Amir is drool worthy.

Now back to reality...

What gm is gullible or stupid enough to take Dudley Hollins and Mullens off our hands? I'd even throw barnes in there.

OK... we're short a serviceable bench big, so we should not only give up half of one serviceable big (Hollins counts for half - Mullens doesn't count for sh!t), but also our starting and reserve small forwards?

We'll get our guy... the Clips are big-market players these days. We'll have somebody new by the playoffs. It wouldn't be prudent to shake things up too much right now. We're a good team, getting better and missing a 16ppg scorer.

We're at 20-11, not 11-20. I enjoyed a great regular season last year... this year, I want to enjoy a great postseason.

Ed Davis from the grizz? 3 mil contract so wouldn't have to give up too much. Maybe Green and Bullock

Or Marcus Morris for Bullock and Mullens/Hollins

^ Ed Davis is nothing special. Bullock has way too much potential, that trade just sounds like a panic move to me. We are fine, we lost 2 games in a row in which one we got shafted by the refs (hate to make excuses but even Clipper haters pointed out the horrible officiating) and tonight we put up a great fight against a very hot team coming of a b2b. The best is yet to come for this team and we are improving in every area.

My only worry is Jared Dudley, he needs to do a better job at impacting games even if his shot isn't falling.

It hurt us to not get Landry in the off season. I think that Landry/Odom would have been an ideal backup for our bigs. I'd trade Reddick and a draft for Garnett at this point.

Honestly, Garnett and Pierce have not looked good at all, it appears we dodge a bullet possibly in not acquiring them. Too early to tell though, these geezers seem to turn it on in the playoffs.

SMH

I don't care for Landry even though he's a nice player, but Clips need somebody over 6'10 who can provide a little scoring and Defense, Hollins is killing them every game and Jamison can't throw a "Penny" into a Wishing Well.

I know one thing, I hear Larry Sanders is on the Market and the Bucks are willing to deal him for a 1st rd pick.

Sanders makes $11mil a year, and we don't have an attractive 1st round pick to give them.

We don't have any asset to trade for a back up big. We just gotta settle for Odom or any big that magically gets waive around march

Ed Davis would be a very good pick up and better then you think particularly for the $. But he ain't going anywhere darn it.

Posted this elsewhere wanted to get reponses. Would be tough getting all three agreements but all must be met and then Stern would have to not get in the way. Two part trade but three part agreement.

1.Mullens, Hollins, Green, Jamison, and Wayans plus cash (some of KG buyout) for Jason Terry

  1. TPE (Bledsoe) and 2014 first or future pick 1st for Plumee

  2. KG buyout agreeing to come to Clippers (the 1st is for paying the buyout).

We would have to figure out what to do with Terry but overall would have the bigs we want.

Paul/Collision/Terry

Redick/Crawford/Terry

Dudley/Barnes/Jackson

Griffin/Plumee/Garnett/Jackson

Jordan/Garnett/Plumee

Nets-clear two of the Boston deal contracts and get a late pick. We may not be able to trade this year pick because we don't have one next year but a pick is better than nothing.

Clips-Spend and try to win now.

Which Plumlee? Miles or Mason? If it's Miles from PHX then I'd just rather do that trade without all of the other stuff. I don't think PHX would do it though.

Mason from the Nets he is playing pretty well himself. Not as noticeable but good for a bench big with length on a good deal. We cut the fat while keeping the core.

The pick is basically for getting a prospect and them paying the buyout which is a blow in itself for them .

We wouldn't be able to get Miles or Mason both are Big time role players for their teams, and both have too much potential to trade this early in their Career, Only reason Pacers Traded Miles is because the got Scola back, witch was a pretty even deal.

I'd swap Mason out for Reggie if it was a deal killer. Nets would have to trade or release two players to take our expiring.

Very good question. I think there's always the fear that since we are a new squad with so many injuries occurring this year we may not make a trade. My guess is that the FO and Doc may not want to make any decisions until after this season. They may be thinking if our current standing is due to players not being in the systems long enough, injuries, or other things vs. some players just suck and need to be traded. My guess is that they aren't going to trade anyone

sorry to burst your bubble but their are no trades coming for the clippers this season.

2 reasons:

Our team is just starting to Gel. Would be dumb to make a trade right now. When

JJ gets back we will be even better, which is scary.

  1. We having nothing to trade at this point. Anybody of value on our team has

been critical to our success and would only leave a bigger hole to fill.

I like the team we have. Jamison sucks right now, but a guy that has scored 20,000

points in his career doesn't just forget how to score. HE has to get in rythym. Doc

didn't play him the first part of the season and its showing.

Also I think with Stephen JAckson we can bench dudley for now.
