Shumpert has knee problems and he's not tall enough to guard big SF's.

You can put Butler on the opponents best perimeter player.

Is there any way of getting Iggy if Golden State trades for Kevin Love?

Iggy making +12 mil next year. It would be tough, plus don't know what we have that GS would want....besides the obvious, which they ain't getting. Very Happy

Iggy might be dealt as part of the trade to Minny for Love.

It would be a 3 team trade with Minny so they might want some of our guys or draft picks.

Again, not sure we have he pieces even for Minny.

I don't think we do either. Jimmy Butler might be easier to get.

Would love to have Butler, just don't know why in the heck Chicago would trade one of their best players who's is also great bang for the buck (2+mil for 2014/15).

If they trade for Melo they will have very little need for Butler.

If they trade for Melo, he's most probably involved in the trade. If NY doesn't demand him in that trade, then Jackson should be fired, LOL.

Butler can play SG and SF equally well. Again, would love to have him...but

Is there anyway we can get Gerald green? Long athletic and can shoot the 3 well.

^I doubt the Suns are going to give up Green anytime soon, unless they trade him for another superstar.

Serious question: is DJ worth a #3 draft pick?

I'd love to trade DJ for Joel Embiid and use the money we are saving from DJ's contract to sign a SF.

If I owned a team and my GM proposed trading a top 3 pick in a loaded draft for DeAndre Jordan, I'd fire him on the spot.

Throw in a GS 1st rd pick.Eh. *shrugs*

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ntmjq74

Sign a back up PG at vet min. (Livingston)

Trade Dudley. Trade Barnes.Waive Willy. MLE on Ariza. BAE on Blatche.

CP3 / Livingston

JJ / Crawford

Ariza/ Green

Blake/ Blatche / Draft Pick

Pek / Dieng / Aaron Gray (vet min)

We'd have a lot more size and we'd be a lot better defensively.

Imagine a defensive unit of CP Livingston Ariza Green Blake to close out games. We'd cover everything!

DeAndre is only 25 and is probably the best defensive center in the NBA right now. Orlando would be a perfect trading partner for DJ and they'd be directly in the playoff hunt if they did that move.

Oladipo/Afflalo/Harris/Vucevic/Jordan

That team would be the 4th seed next year in the East.

Does anyone realize that if we give away DJ we have absolutely NO defense? Blake makes many positional mistakes, and guards blow by our back court, only man left standing between them and the goal is DJ!

So you would trade Wiggins/Love/Embiid for a center who isn't even top 5 in the league at a time when the center position is the weakest it's ever been?

I think DJ's trade value is high, but not that high.

That's the difference between me and you, I think DJ is a top 3 Center right now.

And also Orlando won't draft Jabari or Wiggins. They already have Afflalo/Oladipo and Tobias Harris. They need a big to pair with Vucevic and a PG.

Do I think DJ is better than Parker and Wiggins? No. Do I think DJ is better than Exum, Embiid, Smart, Randle...etc? Yes

Essentially if we were to trade away everyone not named Chris paul, Griffin, and Jordan clippers will only be able to clear around 10 to 11 million under the current salary cap. But it is estimated that the salary cap may increase by 5 million next year.If it were to happen clippers could potentially free up around 15 million in cap space. At starting 5 with cp3, Bullock, Melo, griffin, and Jordan would be epic.

also i believe this year heave the Mid level exception and bi annual exception that could help out in resign some for the bench.

Our starting C is slow footed, can't really guard the pick and roll and is not a shot blocker or rim protector. Our backup C has nice length, but similarly, he isn't so quick, and he's also not a shot blocker or rim protector. I fail to....

Purely a "for fun" NBA2k trade. Just curious what people would think (*again, not a real proposal, just what I thought was an interesting thought experiment)

Cleveland: CP3

LAC: Kyrie and No. 1 pick and Luol Deng

My thoughts:

Deng likely won't resign in Cleveland so throwing him in is mostly to make $ work on Cleveland side and for LAC, to shore up SF position for the next 3-5 years.

Kyrie <<< CP3, but is significantly younger and would be cheaper for a few years at least.

With the No. 1, the Clippers could either draft Wiggins/Parker for SF of the future after Deng or Embiid to shore up bigs and/or replace DJ if they can't afford to extend him in a couple of years.

For Cleveland, they aren't resigning Deng most likely anyway and CP3 gives them a much better (still slim) chance of convincing LeBron to come back.

Points for being creative but Cleveland will never go for that. You're leaving them with cp3 at 29 and nothing else

76'ers get: DeAndre Jordan/Derrick Wlliams/#28 pick

Clippers get: Jabari Parker (#3 pick)/Noah Vonleh (#8 pick)

Kings get: Jamal Crawford/Matt Barnes

Clippers sign: Pau Gasol ($5mil)/Avery Bradley (3yrs $14mil)/Channing Frye (2yrs $10)/Paul Pierce (Vet min)

Roster:

CP3/Collison

Redick/Bradley

Jabari/Pierce

Griffin/Frye

Gasol/Vonleh

I like that trade for us, but the 76ers and especially the Kings get shafted badly with that trade Razz

Maybe, but the 76'ers would be getting 3 young players for 1 and the Kings would be getting 2 Veterans which they were asking for with the #8 pick.

Very unrealistic that this trade happens, but I think it's fair for all teams involved IMO.

I don't think Philly can afford to mortgage their future on another 7 footer who hasn't played a game in his career and has already had MCL surgery.

I think DJ brings what was not there with Bynum. Durability.

I thought of Blatche but what I really meant was Jordan Hill. Hill with the BAE, Ariza with the MLE. You don't think we'd be better defensively with CP3 / Ariza/ Green / Blake / Hill closing out games? I could tell you right now the Thunder wouldn't beat us with that lineup. I like the Marc Gasol idea, that would be killer. Why not trade DJ at the deadline and sign Marc as a FA in the off-season?

These propositions are just fun n games but realistically I think Ariza and Hill would improve us drastically defensively and and in the rebounding department.

Trade candidates on the current roster : Barnes, Dudley, Bullock,Crawford

That would be GREAT!! This trade would give us a lot of flexibility. Trade Dudley and the 1st for an above average big. Maybe something like this

The Wolves because they get absolutely robbed in that trade. IMO Love is worth Jimmy, Taj, and a 1st round pick (better than bulls pick).

K. Love is overrated but even I think the wolves are getting hosed in that trade.

I think Ariza is the key to the off season. He's a huge starting SF upgrade over Barnes and is killer from 3, which will give Blake/CP3 more room to operate. In a dream world I'd love to see him sign for the MLE (4 year deal starting salary of $5.3M), but that seams unlikely.

A sign-and-trade with the Wizards could look like this: Clippers send Barnes, Willie (can be waived before July 1st) and whoever the Wizards would like with the 28th pick (b/c Clips traded 2015 pick, they'd need to make the pick, then complete trade) - In this scenario Ariza could sign for a starting salary of $7M to $7.5M which should be in line with his going rate. It may not seem like much in year 1, but 4 years $32M is a big difference from 4 years $21M (MLE)

The Clippers would still have their MLE and BAE to fill out the bench and get that much needed backup 5.

In all honesty i think going after ariza is a trap, the two years he had his best season was when he was in contract year with the lakers and the wizards, i think we should look elsewhere.

clippers need to draft an good player!!!

a point guard or a center..

there are a lot of point guards...and some good european big guys..

then during the summer ..when they see who stays and goes...they can make a few trades..

That's a really good plan. We should keep it a secret from every other team so they can't use this amazing offseason strategy.

We have the most sought-after point-guard in the league, a center who leads the league in rebounding and FG%, is near the top in blocks, averages a double-double and is as durable as a rhino, yet we have a couple of matadors at the 2, and a pair of journeyman SF's whose jumpshots are broke... so naturally, acquiring point-guards and centers is what we should be focusing on to fix our woes. roll

"Simple" and "no-brainer" indeed.
