they were answering questions and some one asked if they all like to play on the same team. CP quickly said he and Blake do!!! and the look on Melo's face when he realized he should/could join the dark side

U left out. A center who has been in the league for over six years and doesn't care to improve his offensive game. Can't hit fee throws and gets fouled intentionally. And who is an average defender at best.

My personal favorite trade idea:

Clippers get: Marc Gasol/Tony Allen/Jeremy Tyler

Grizzlies get: DeAndre Jordan/Amare Stoudemire/Shumpert/Hardaway Jr.

Knicks get: Zach Randolph/Jamal Crawford/Jared Dudley

Clippers would do this because Gasol and Allen would really push us over the top defensively and Marc would be fantastic with Blake offensively.

Grizzlies would do this trade because their franchise is unstable right now and they need youth on their team.

Knicks would obviously do this because they get out of Amare's contract and they get 2 really good veterans that can help them with a title run and convince Melo to stay.

I hope so. The SF position needs a huge uprgrade. Barnes has been terrific, but he should be a bench player not starter. Also, Dudley is useless and just eating up $4 million of cap space. To be honest if this is the case I see it as a huge step in the right direction. After the SF upgrade we would just need to bring in some defensive guys and we could be set

No way in hell this would ever happen lol. Grizzlies will probably never get rid of Gasol, and Crawford and the Clippers players have formed a really good bond it seems. I say develop Jordan's game even further which I do think his ceiling could be really high and just shop Bullock and Dudley for a starting SF and put Barnes on the bench. All we would need then is some big men... Definitely championship material team then.

I wonder with Dudleys contract gone how much flexibility we would have? Would we be under the cap?

Honestly, I would much rather use Dudley to get a good backup big than another small forward. That being said, I don't know who they're targeting, so we'll see.

Memphis wouldn't do it, Phil Jackson or just the Knicks in general won't sign Randolph, remember they already had their Randolph experience Sad, but it would be nice for us.

Wow, why did you mix those two, hill and Blatche is a totally different situation, Hill would be a different story. Not sure about Pekovic still though, he'll still demand minutes and it is a lot of minutes with no rim protection and poor pick and roll defense, might not be worth it.

To this day I still believe Lamar Odom was our best Pick and Roll Defender. Showed Correctly, Got Back with Active and Up Hands. If we could I want Lamar back. Lamar and Big Baby!....

He was excellent at it, but he was atrocious on offense and a self check and he started going down hill as the season progressed. Odom was theoretically a great fit for this team, but his offense had disappeared and he had other issues of course

Yeah his offense was atrocious with an atrocious offensive system. I think he would thrive in a Alvin Gentry,Doc Rivers offensive system. You can't just say his offense was bad without applying how bad our....

Well, the offensive system can limit effectiveness a little, but he was historically bad on offense. The offensive system last season had little to do with his struggles. We had some trouble against good defensive teams because we didn't have enough counters and motion, but we still killed bad and average teams, because the base system was actually good enough, but Odom sucked vs all. He couldn't make open shots, teams would leave him wide open. His rhythm was off all season, and he just never seemed to get the feel for the game back. For the quality of shots he got, he didn't finish well enough at the basket, he committed a lot of bad turnovers, his handles were no longer secure, he shot horribly at the line which has no relation to the offensive system.

An offensive system really can't save that. Boris Diaw would be a nice player to get in the off-season as a versatile do it all on offense guy who defends (despite his fatness), but I can't see how the Spurs let him go.

I really wish he got his game back though, and I loved his defense and rebounding. If we had a guy putting up about 9-10 pts/ 8 rebs / 3 assists / 46-47% FG / 32-33% 3PT in 28 minutes, he doesn't have to be prime Odom, but doing that, playing good defense, it would have been great.

With DJ playing so many minutes at C, it might be a waste to use both those guys on a C like that. We're talking about a combined $9-10M, that seems excessive. It would make more sense to use that on a solid SF, or to use Crawford alone on a big and package Dudley/Bullock for a SF.

I wish though, probably the most realistic part is signing Pierce, but most likely he would command part of the MLE.

Why though? What is accomplished in doing those? Of course, secondly, we ask why Indiana is doing those, because now they have no good SF. Evan Turner? Oyy...

Some of the ideas being thrown here are so stupid and impossible, it is f***** unbelievable! Why suggesting trades that do not work money-wise and the other team will NEVER DO? Why on Earth will Indiana give up West and George for Blake, seriously?

The biggest issue we have is no reliable defense ANYWHERE, at any position. This is where we would have used Bledsoe but we gave him up for thin air in useless Dudley and JJ, who is injured way too often. We need a guy, who can guard multiple positions, most notably the 2-3 and he doesn't even need to be remotely competent in offense. I would love us to have Jimmy Butler, who will only get better with age and is already a much better defender than anybody we have.

As much as I like JJ and Jamal, I think one of them should be used to get someone a little more defensive minded on the perimeter.

I hope we don't get Pierce. He's a similar version to Dudley. Looks out of shape, lost his 3pt shot, and slow. No thanks. The guy is done just like his friend, Garnett. No more old Celtics please.

Pierce was always slow, Doc was saying of how rookies noticed Pierce's sluggishness, licked their chops and got torched afterwards... He doesn't need to be quick to be effective.

I have to agree with Joe on this. I wouldn't mind Pierce on a min deal, but we all know that won't happen. Don't want to spend anymore than that on him. I'd be ok with spending slightly more than that on KG so he can come and spit some knowledge on our bigs. I'd actually be ok with Doc bringing him onto his staff if he retires as a player.

Pierce was always slow though, like CP3 said. What happened to his 3PT shot? He shot 37.3% on 4 attempts in only 28 minutes, that seems like some pretty good 3PT shooting. What makes you say he lost it?

In the end it depends on what is available to us, if Pierce can still produce, he's better than any SF we have, a regressed Dudley and Barnes who is no young man himself, neither is Granger. Also Pierce's defense was quite good this season, but certainly we'd need another SF along with him, a younger and more athletic guy.

Because David west has one year left and so does George and George might not resign and Blake USA star indiana da needs help onoofemse not defense this would help both teams and Blake would torch the east bigs with ease!

And defense for us would improve! You must not know that that Indiana team is breaking up! They don't get along and can't score enough to compete!

Other than Brooklyn maybe, I don't see anybody offering him midlevel money this summer. For a guy who's made astronomical amounts of money already, kind of doubt the difference between 1.5mil and 3.5mil is going to make him decide to go to Denver (or wherever) instead of the Clips. Even if we throw him the biannual at just under 2mil, it's not a big investment, especially since SF is by far our weak position.

Personally, he's the guy I think we sign before anybody else and I don't think he would really consider many other teams. Celtics would just be a Derek Jeter- like farewell tour and since they're rebuilding, I doubt anybody on either side is interested in this. Lakers ain't happening. Heat ain't happening. He has no connection to the Bulls, hates the Knicks and I'd be shocked if he goes to a small market. PP is from here, Doc is here, there's PT available and you can win a chip here. I'll be surprised if we don't have Pierce on the opening day roster.

Just for the record we have THREE un-tradeable players. Blake Griffin, Chris Paul, and Jared Dudley (not for the right reasons though)

That is a total Knicks trade, LMAO.

I don't see us getting Chandler as much as I'd love too. Then add Iman, that would be too good for us. Not enough ball for Houston in that case. I don't think we get that much for Jamal.

Kings looking to unload Thompson and/or Landry for vet help and could move 8. If we took both and send our first I've seen kings fans I've chatted with are willing to take Dudley.

Something like Barnes, Dudley, Green, draft night first, and future first lotto protected for Thompson, Landry and 8. Would make a resigning of Jordan more difficult but the team would be better than ever. You could still add Pierce for vet min. Deal doesnt work on trade machine now but once guys are renounced or opt out we get the cap space.

Paul/Smart (maybe)

Redick/Crawford

Pierce/Bullock

Griffin/Landry

Jordan/ Thompson

Two teams that I think would be great trading partners are the Charlotte Hornets and Sacramento Kings.

Hornets assets: McRoberts, Kidd-Gilchrist, Cody Zeller, Biyombo, Gary Neal, 9th pick, 24th pick

Kings assets: Carl Landry, Jason Thompson, Reggie Evans, Ben McLemore, 8th pick

Both teams need veteran help which we have.

Its been reported they wanted to trade the 8th pick for a veteran! Dudley has been to the WCF and Willie is just Willie. Great Professional. Ryan could possibly give some tutelage over DC

I mean, if you're not sure what teams will trade, ask the question, if that team was the Clippers and we were in the same situation, would you make the said trade that you are proposing? If not, then the other team probably isn't doing it either.

I think part of the issue is that the Miami series last season overrated him. Hibbert was a mediocre rebounder, a slow pick and roll defender who you have to play a soft hedge on pick and roll with because he isn't mobile, a low percentage scorer (shoots in the mid 40's). Those issues never went away, but Indiana masked his defensive weakness, offensively, he looked dominant vs Miami but is at best a below average offensive player against the rest of the league, and he isn't mobile enough to get rebounds outside of his area on defense, but Indiana boxes out and has very good wing rebounders.

Hibbert isn't a bad C, especially defensively in the right system, but when people look at snippets of a player and not their whole body of work, the overrating or underrating, depends, tends to happen.
