"The Clippers can still sign players to minimum contracts, and they are in talks to retain rehabilitating point guard Shaun Livingston and forward Paul Davis, both unrestricted free agents."

-LA Times

These two will be the final pieces to the Pacific Division Championship!!!

If Shuan is brought back then he should definitely be sent to the D-league. It will probably be at least a year before he can contribute to this team anyways. I'm not of the group that really feels that we need to bring him back. I wouldn't mind but my concerns with him are his confidence which was already pretty shaky, and his lateral quicks which he admits he will have problems with now.

I'm more concerned about making space to bring qross in the fold. I don't think anyone has really thought about the fact that we don't have anyone to d up the quick guards in the league. Maybe Taylor. Baron can't do it fulltime nor should he be asked to.

As far as Davis is concerned I think that this is a very important part of our team that gets overlooked on a regular basis. We solidified our playoff team behind the hard work of Little Z when Kaman was stinking up the joint so davis, jordan and powell or Faz will be very important this season.

One of the things that makes me feel better about having a quick guard to D up the fast guys, is that when they do manage to penetrate they will have Kaman, Camby and Jordan waiting for them. It would be nice to have a link to this rumor so we could read the entire context to see how much credence we should be putting on this. Both players are unable to play at the moment as far as I know.

D-league is only for 1st and 2nd year players. By NBA rules, Shaun cannot participate.

Also, who is "Little Z"? Thanks.

I agree- Q Ross would round out the team perfectly, and I would love to see Livi and PD back as well.

I don't know, I read the story and it looks like throw away statements at the bottom of the article. Livie is somebody they probably want to keep around if it is for minimum money. But they probably will not sign both Davis and FAZ. They did not renounce FAZ. And FAZ can actually play, where Davis still can not, and wasn't even available for summer league. And Q isn't likely to take a cut in pay. We are out of money.

Correct!

Oh and thanks for the reminder on the D league rules. That makes me really not want Shuan back.

One of the things that I really liked about SL when he was healthy was his ability to lock down certain players of similar size. Without that and still no shot, no confidence, no lateral quicks, to me = no reason. I would love to see where Dun thinks that he will really fit though. Maybe banking on the future pairing of him and Gordon. I can get behind that if management are confident that he will recover.

I agree JamFan - LAC are probably keeping in touch with Shaun and Paul, but that doesn't mean much. And Faz and Paul are interchangeable (not identical), with Paul having the injury downside ... so I'd put my money on Faz. Also, we'll know about Powell by Friday.

As far as confidence and I hope I'm wrong, is anyone familiar with pitcher Herb Score from years gone by? If we need a big, maybe Kloss is still around

HAHAAHAAHAHAH Kloss. That guy was one tall pole. He had no weight on him what so ever. Thats a flashback for those like myself that remember those crazy old days.
