There is a question of whether or not MT(Mike Taylor) will be cut, ride the pine, or be sent to the D-league. It's a valid one for sure, and I hope this is just the beginning of things in the NBA for MT.

I think that Mt has all the tools to be somewhat of a defensive type role player in the mold of Qross for this team, add to that the fact that he is actually more of a scorer than a pure pg, and BD is that type also, then I think this woud definitely be the best oppurtunity for him to be here now and absord as much as possible for BD.

This situation would be more desirable than the Sam/Liv situation we had before. Sam was the worst person for Livingston to learn from, and i think that it stunted his growth the short time that he was actually able to stay healthy. Sam said the right things, but acted differently on the court. It was also spoiling Liv because he kinda knew the teams was to be his sooner than later(so he thought at the time). The environment just wasn't the most conducive to groom a future pg. Sam and Liv were just too diferent in terms of personality and style of play. Maybe it could've worked if it was only one of the two but I think it being both was a bit much.

MT has been through enough already that he seems to have been really humbled by life, and he is having to work for everything.

We spent a 2nd rounder on him, i don't think that the management is ready to just throw that away now even though we just shored up our pg troops for the now. I think they realize now that this is how real teams build for the future especially at the position of pg. You don't throw a guy out there for 2 season and expect him to just get it, you work him in and let him learn hopefully from a good to great pg.

MT is probably one of the most solid picks for this team when you look at the fact that he would have actually been just coming out around this year for the draft, and where he probably would have placed had he stayed in college in a pg weak draft, there would have been no way for the Clips to pick him up that late(probably). You add in the fact that he has had some next level experience winning in the NBDL and I think things are perfect exactly the way they are.

DeAndre and Mike, if they are able to learn from the vets and player in their prime that are around them right now then they will both have futures in this league even if it doesn't mean being a 'star'.

If he makes the team of course.

Put it like this. He was not going to see many minutes anyway. With Hart and Davis he was going to ride a lot of pine. I think another year in the d-league will benefit him. As he will be playing more days and minutes. If there is an injury i am sure he will get called up to replace somebody but he was also a late second rounder. With three decent point guards we actually have depth there now. So let him learn and when Hart comes off the books next year invite him to summer league and see if he has progressed at all.

I hope M Talyorl works out fine for the team. For now he's going to have to work hard on his game and show the staff what he's got during practice. He's not going to get alot of pt now but he'll definitely have a chance to improve his game as he learns from BD and J.will. As we all know, the team is only set in the pg spot this year. So, if we have a great season, J Will and Heart might walk the following year, although Heart loves it here so chances are he'd like to stay. But, the good thing is Taylor wont be rushed this year, the team will have a chace to groom him a bit, and they should know by the end of the year if they've got a keeper or not.

I also hope everything works out for him. I watched him in some of the summer league games and was very impressed. So when I read he and DeAndre Jordan were signed I felt he is a keeper.

Also with the league seeming to depend toward PG's you never want to give up on one. Espcially the ones that have potential. To boot if he can improve his all around shooting game he can be a valuable combo guard.

He was alright in the summer league. Have you seen this guy turnover the ball 10 times (or was it 11), but I'm with you, there still might be with this guy that he have'nt shown us yet.

Lol damn misssed that part. Yeah believe he can improve though, with time he can be molded into a strong player. He seems like in time he can be a Devin Harris type player getting better year by year.

He does not have a guaranteed contract but I think they will keep him around and use him as a 2 guard. MD has a lot of flexibility with these players, they can all play different positions. I would like him to continue to progress in the D league though. Or maybe do what the Fakers did with Farmar and have him play in both leagues. The good part is he is young and can still better his game and we don't need him to contribute right now. Who knows??... our team may blow out opponents and he will get a lot of garbage time minutes!!! wink
