It funny because if you put it into another perspective, it Brand loss. He lost his only chance to content for the championship, the Clippers organization will be around for a long time, while Brand is aging and this is probably his last contract with the Sixers. Brand also will not be the first person to get his jersey retire for the Clippers, oh how those 7 years for him off being loyal is all wasted, and I'm sure Brand knows how much he lost after signing with the Sixers. He might be smiling, but I know deep down, his conscious is telling him you F*** up big time.
The Clippers Organization have never been better, with or without Brand. Davis is now the Clippers franchise player and depending on how the season goes, he will likely be the first Clippers to have his jersey retire.
So for any of you Clippers fan who still are not over that first stage, let me ask you this question? Would you want Brand to play for the Clippers if deep in his heart he doesn't want to play for them? I think the clear answer is "NO". The Clippers will only improve while Brand don't have much time left before he officially retire and every time people talk about Brand, they will talk about his disloyalty to the Clippers.
Will Brand be remember for his 7 years? NO Will he be remembers for his disloyalty? Yes
Because people often remember the bad versus the good, take Bill Clinton for example, no one ever remember him as a decent president, but when we talk about Clinton, we think of his affair with Monica something lol (forgot her name).
So there, sooner or later Brand is gonna get more than he bargain for. You can bet every cents on that. |

| I like when people look on the bright side of things, also I see your a Laker fan, I haven't had good experiences with Laker fans but it seems your one to look on the facts instead of just bragging and band wagoning..which is good,(i really hate that dont you) anyway, I think we have a good core around the talent we have but, yes we do need to make a move to fill the forward spot (PF to be more percise), we just gotta see where we go but it'll all turn out fine. |

I agree with clippers0918, that one playoff run was all Sam. Whenever there was pressure, Sam took the shot, Elton was always kind of a no-show in crunch situations.
I live to watch the Sixers fail now, which they will. Remember the 2003 season with Elton, Andre Miller, and Corey Maggette? What a disaster. Why would it be any different now when Elton and Andre are past their primes, and Iguodala takes the place of Maggette? Philadelphia is in for some disappointment. |

| Totally agree with you guys on this post. I said before in last week's post. Elton was NOT a great leader. Thats why i think even with current roster we can win 40 games easy. Baron has the killer instinct for big shots and to win that EB never had! Maybe 10-15 players in the whole league have that killer instinct. |

| In addition to the fact that Brand is a boring player, don't forget the fact that he pretty much disappeared in the playoffs against the Suns. If I remember correctly, his numbers in the playoffs were far off what he did in the regular season. Guys like Cassell, Maggette, and Livingston really stepped up that year. |

| EB was a good player but he was not Jordan or Magic. He didn't deserve Jordan money. There was no way in hell he deserved the contract his agent thought he did. If he thought like Ron Harper, he was in jail, then set him free. We will move on without him and we will have a good season. We don't need any players that don't want to be here. When you have that, you have a bad locker room atmosphere. The players should be happy to play anywhere. If the players like EB don't like getting **** from the fans well tough. We pay there salary with our tickets and merchandise purchases. I think we do have a right to complain. EB will not win with Andre Miller. No team has gotten very far with this guy. I don't know why people think they can go far with him. If you match up BD and AM, BD hands down a better player. Time will tell what the sixers will accomplish. I really don't think its going to be much with or without Iggy. Then what excuse are they gonna use next....we need an outside shooter?!!!! |

| Slestack i agree with your overall point but actually Elton destroyed the suns 2 years ago in the playoff's. He scored at will and dominated Amare. It's just that ass**** Steve Nash that did us in. Ill have the stats of EB ina a sec in that series. Maybe im thinking of the Nuggets? But i think it was the Suns where he averaged like 30 ppg. |

| Elton scored 40 game 1, 27 game 2, 20 game 3, 30 game 4, 33 game 5, 30 game 6, and 36 game 7. Basically he absolutely DOMINATED the suns. Only reason we lost is that game winner in game 3 by Bell i think? i forget who. If we didnt lose that game we would be in round 3 of the playoffs that year ; (. |
