Assuming that the Clippers get the 11th pick from Minnesota, + their own pick (~14 to 18th), and the 47th pick, whom do you think the they should select?

I'm thinking that they need a PG and a shooter SG or SF (to spell Mobley and Maggette), + an athletic player.

Here are some possibilities:

For PG:

-Acie Law (18 and 5 assists/pg, 50% FG, 46% 3's, known to hit clutch shots)

-Mike Conley (11 and 6 assists/pg, 51% FG, 2.2 steals/pg, penetrating PG)

-Gabe Pruitt, USC (12 and 4 assists/pg, good D, speedy)

For Shooter:

-Marco Bellinelli (can shoot it and can D it up, known to hit clutch shots)

-Morris Almond, SG, Rice (26 and 6, 45% 3's, big time shooter, gets to the FT line)

Athletic:

-Rudy Fernandez, SG (good D, loves to attack the basket, high bball IQ)

For the second round maybe someone like a:

-Jared Dudley, SF, Boston College (19 and 8 boards/game, 56% FG, 3 assists/pg, high bball IQ)

-Dominic McGuire, F, Fresno State (13, 10, 3.6 blocks/game)

-Stephane Lasme, PF, U Mass (13 and 10, 61% FG, avg. 5.1 blocks/game!)

-Bobby Brown, PG, CS Fullerton (20 ppg, 5 assists/game, 39% 3's, very quick, good shooter)

With Korolev gone, Ewing probably gone, Rebraca gone, and Livingston maybe out for the entire next season, the Clippers may have enough room for a an influx of young talent.

Those are great names if you are picking somewhere from 10 to 16. But if we get both picks, Minney's and our own, I look for them to trade up for one of the best players in the draft, or trade both picks for one very proven veteran. So let's expand the search to include those two additional areas. One, who would be the player they would trade up for in the draft? Secondly, which proven veteran player would be a good fit? Let the search begin!

I'm not sure which lottery pick would be worth trading two picks for, other than the first two guys. As far as veteran players go, there's Chauncey Billups, Mo Williams, Matt Carol, Gerald Wallace, PJ Brown, Steve Blake, McDyess, Matt Barnes, Mutombo, Chucky Atkins, Jason Kapono, Ruben Patterson, Mikki Moore, Devin Brown, Desmond Mason, ... so some nice players out there up for grabs.

Being realistic I think we could be interested in these players: Chucky Atkins,Mo Wlliams and Kapono...These are the best names I see from David's list.I know that names like Wallace or Billups are more important than my names but if you think in our salary possibilities and our needs (PGs+shooters) I think these names are the best...Furthermore looking the complete list I have seen a player who, although he has proved his quality his whole career, right now he could be a robb.I'm talking about Bonzi Wells.A heck of a player but he just couln't shine in Houston due to have a special coach like Van Gundy, known for devaluate great players...

On David's list I like Kapono. The last time I checked he was hitting over 50% from the 3. And we are in dire need for another outside shooting threat. Since Kapono went to UCLA, he just might want to come home to California. But that list comes from the free agent list, players we can sign without trading our picks. Free Agents also include Mike Bibby, Michael Finley, Rashard Lewis, Jalen Rose, and Vince Carter. It is hard to imagine who we can afford within the cap limits.

Yeah Kapono would be nice if he doesn't ask for too much. Chucky Atkins is an interesting choice- he's a little small and getting old but he can still shoot. He'd be a good backup PG. If Hart leaves then Atkins would be a decent choice to replace him.
