Here's the free agent list: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2654216 Kapono & Hart sound like good choices. Jerry Stackhouse would be great if he choses to not re-sign with Dallas. Other interesting choices that the Clippers should be able to afford include Steve Blake, Matt Barnes, Bonzi Wells, Chucky Atkins, James Posey, Mikki Moore, Devin Brown, Desmond Mason, Grant Hill, Jamaal Magloire, Jacque Vaughn, and Morris Peterson. ....

We already have Maggette driving to the hoop, Brand and Kaman working around the hoop. We need a flame thrower from the outside. Jason Kapono seems to fit that bill and he was a SoCal boy, played for UCLA. He might just want to come back and be a hometown hero. I like Jason Hart, but how many of you feel we can win the NBA championship with him at PG? If the answer is....

I like some of those names: Billups, Rashard, etc. But the $/cap situation might not work. Plus with Rashard you have another logjam at SF/SG. So maybe a mid level guy (Kapono) may be what they have to do. It would be great to have an all-around PG, but they are hard to come by and pricey. I would be OK with a pure PG. We have enough offensive guys that a great passer would turn....

I like that- the idea of Cat being a 6th man like Finley & Stackhouse. If we then get somebody like a Kapono and he starts, then there's going to be a ton of firepower coming off the bench in Mobley & Thomas. But yeah Billups and Lewis would break the bank unless the Clippers do some sort of sign-and-trade. As far as having a "pure" PG- I'll have to disagree. The PG for the Clippers needs to be a....

We need consistent shooting obviously. If Jason Hart can produce offensively...It seems like he can, but we just havent seen that much of him...he's all we need in a starting PG. AS Long AS we have someone who will consistently shoot well at the SG position. When Cat is on, he's on, so hopefully he can come in off the bench, and we'll know for sure if he's "on" without having to depend on him as a....

Oh and one more thing...Picking up an older (30+) PG is NOT THE ANSWER. We cant get older, we must put some solid pieces in place with youth on their side. Period! No Chauncey Billups (it dont matter how good he is...he's old and we already got Sam...look how many good years he had here-1). We are close to being an elite team, and this team can only afford a change if it is THE RIGHT....

Jason Hart played really well but personally I just don't think he's enough of an offensive threat. Clipper opponents thought so too and that's why they kept doubling off of him. Jason made them pay a lot of times but I'm just not convinced that he's our guy if we're to advance in the playoffs. I think he'd be great as a backup/spot starter for the Clippers, however. I think it remains to be seen what happens with....

I think the Clippers should look over two areas in the roster: PG & SG PG: Livingston is still a huge gamble with his current status. Nobody knows how long he'll be sidelined and whether or not he'll ever develop to the premier player that the Clippers believe he'll be. No disrespect, but in order for Livingston to develop he needs to start each game and be the "man" in the PG position. Sam Cassell has been a huge part of the....

WOW!(see above post). Bulls/GS in 6. We will soon see the 1st documented case of spontaneous human combustion-Cuban. Who does EB want to get rid of for lack of production? This may be telling. We lack PG's. Guys, SC is 37+ and all busted up. You can't make perfume from an old fart. If he plays at all next yr. don't look for much. True unless Hart can develop some offense he shouldn't start, but who will? He's still a bargain.....

Centers are a limited quanity. Especially good ones. Kaman is average, which is not where he could be. If Kaman turns in a great year this upcoming one, then we have a big edge on most of the league. I say we need to give Baby Shaq a chance to compete for a spot on the team. He could be awesome, who knows. And we could really use a solid backup for Kaman when....

First and foremost we need a pg, I love hart and the way he played for us but he can't take us to the next level and we must use our draft pick to get a point guard. Connely would be great, but he's not goin to be there when we pick (unless the ping pong balls somehow work in our way). Therefore, the available one would be Acie Law who I think is going to be perfect for our....

I would love to have Acie Law on our team. He fights for loose balls, he defends well, he is very coachable, he takes and makes clutch shots (excluding that layup he missed against Memphis), led his college team, and is quick. I dont know how his passing or ballhandling skills are for handling general duties at the point. Jason Kopono i dont know much about. Matt Barnes could be good. Mikki Moore's getting too old. ....

I like those names- Acie Law, Kapono, Matt Barnes, & Mikki "Snake" Moore. I remember that Mikki did great for us when he was here- he's really good at running the pick-n-roll. He would be a nice backup center/PF. Matt Barnes is an energy, hustle guy and he would help the Clippers but he would probably be better served being with a run-n-gun team. Kapono would be great since he can come in and help spread....

Yeah people forget that Cat does the little things. Sometimes he'll shoot the lights out, but it's the other things you mentioned that he's had to develop over time that's kept him a starter in this league. I think we all agree that he should get a lot of minutes coming off the bench. Maybe we can swing a deal to have Walton come over and start at SG. We could send the Lakers Ewing and....

What if we trade to Seattle for Luke Ridnour and Ray Allen??? I'm no genius on this but...is Seattle is looking to get rid of salaries...could we trade our draft pick to them and give them Ewing, Thomas/Mobley and maybe Paul Davis or something?? We would have 5 solid starters and still have a core of backups. It would be great if we get Minny's pick...then we could send a pick away and still have a 1st....

As far as Walton goes- I think he's a good player- he improved his 3 point shooting and of course he's always been a good passer. The problem with him though is that he's not established himself as a consistent enough player- he really struggled in the playoffs vs. the Suns. I think if the Clippers can sign him for $3 million-ish/year that'd be fine, but at this point I think he hasn't proven that he's worth more....

seattle is under new ownership so i really don't know what direction theyre trying to go in: continue to add pieces, or unload salaries, regardless unless we want to give up maggette/brand/our draft pick, i dont see them taking anyone else in return for allen. walton would be a good addition but i dont see the lakers letting him go, and i dont see us giving him the money he would request because our goal should be a shooter, and....

Well if the Clippers can sign a good PG such as Papaloukas from Europe, then they may well draft a shooter such as Morris Almond, Bellinelli, Thaddeus Young, or my favorite pick for them Rudy Fernandez. Rudy really looks like he could be that X-factor for the Clippers. He could be the Manu Ginobili/Leandro Barbosa/Matt Barnes of the Clippers. But yeah I think if they do draft a shooter with the chance to pick Acie Law, then....

Also another shooter the Clippers might want to consider is well, a former Clipper (at least in training camp) and a former Dukie- Trajan Langdon. He's currently playing with CKSA in Europe and has found a nice niche there as a big time outside shooter. I'm not sure what his contract status is with CKSA but he would probably sign for cheap with the Clippers. ....

How high do you think Rudy will get picked?? Is he on team's radar do you think? Or will he be a steal for some team? I also believe we should take Jared Dudley in the second round if available. He'll probably not get picked in the first, but I think he is a solid player who probably wont be a star in the NBA, but definitely a very solid backup. ....

I think Rudy Fernandez is someone who's proven and not risky. DraftExpress has him being picked 16th, while NBADraft.net has him at 21. Profiles/Articles http://nbadraft.net/admincp/profiles/rudyfernandez.html http://www.hoopsvibe.com/nba/nba-draft/nba-draft-news/a-look-at-rudy-f ernandez-ar43231.html http://www.euroleague.net/news/i/11615/180/joventut-s-fernandez-wins-r ising-star-trophy http://pistons.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/951103441/m/6601078634 I think he can bring some mojo, shooting and athleticism from the SG position. Probably a lot of teams, especially playoff teams are looking at him as a piece of the puzzle. The problem would be the buyout $ with his current Euroleague team DKV Joventut. He is also a bit on the skinny....

This Rudy guy is amazing. This is the first time I've viewed the videos and articles. Now I know why you guys are so excited. This guy is amazing. He will have to get stronger against much more physical teams in the NBA, but he's very coachable according to reports and just an all out player. I think he'd be great here. Right now we got pick #14, so he should be available (HOPEFULLY)!!....

Thanks Miquel for the info. The draft lottery is in 9 days on the 22nd. Let the ping-pong balls roll then! So you think Memphis is not going to trade Pau? Wow- that's interesting how Rudy's sister is playing in LA- perhaps that'll make him more receptive in coming over, and if he does come over he won't feel as home sick with his sister around. I like Luke Walton better that David does, mostly because he is a really smart player and a good playmaker for a guy who is not a guard. He struggled against the suns because he is not a high fly act. Against the Suns and Stoudamire and Marion, a lot of players struggle because those guys are so athletic. The whole NBA is going towards speed and athleticism. But the Clippers do not. We are....

Could be Spurs and Pistons for another year, lol. Let me ask you guys something: Are the Suns and Mavs gonna play defense one of these years, or are they gonna come up short TIME And TIME AGAIN??? I think it's hilarious that one's a run and gun team with a spectacular PG who does most of the work and the other relies on Dirk who doesnt show up in crunch time. Defense is winning championships more often than not....

Yeah I agree Jlemm- I think the overall philosophy the coaching staff has for the team is pretty solid. They pretty much want the guys to play great D and then move the ball on offense. Remember the season before last we were one of the top teams in terms of FG % defense, but this last season there was definitely slippage and hence one of the big reasons for the disappointing showing. ....
