Jordan may become that man but I would prefer that the Clippers started a little more versatile big man who can rebound and defend (Jordan still has a way to go when it comes to his overall defense) as well as shoot a bit to keep defenders honest.

Kaman has too many holes in his game.

I also think that his basketball IQ is lower than you would want out of starting center for a playoff team. Just my opinion on this last point having watched him play and listened to some of his interviews over the last seven plus seasons.

name a center better than kaman that you could trade for.

I think I'd rather have Brendan Haywood.

that's the problem - you'd rather have brendan haywood during kaman's slump, but once kaman's out of that slump, he's almost untouchable.

Hmmm... all of these complaints about Kaman are curiously the exact same ones that have always been loudly voiced here on the forum, the difference being that his normally dependable shot hasn't gone in this year, thus lending a bit more vehemence to the rhetoric. There is the possibility that CK is just in a slump as well as getting used to a new system and new personnel. No more, no less. This hyper reaction to a relatively small sampling is interesting. Along with being our most dependable scorer Kaman had plenty of 12 for 17 type games last year... one wonders what the forum reaction will be when and if that happens. Don't get me wrong, I'm frustrated by his play at times too, but as long as he's giving an honest effort (which he does, and has) I'm willing to expect that his shots will eventually start to fall. Logic, and past performance says that it will happen.

Amen Taylor! Seriously Kaman is Kaman and he has been the workhorse for so long with absolutely no help. Chris logs a lot of minutes ALL SEASON which is tough to do.Del Negro will improve his game so watch for it. Gomes is worthless! Besides Blake Kaman is alone and Smith is the ticket.Hey the Clips stuck with Denver until late in the 3rd. The refs were awful and as far as I'm concerned the play was even. **** Carmelo!

I should have reiterated. Kaman sucks as of right now. How can you biff on a put back when no one's around you? How can you take that many shots, continue to take that many shots before it finally hits you in the face that you aren't doing well at all?

I love my team but good god. We wonder why nobody wants to play here, or why people leave. Probably seeing what we've seen so far is part of the issue.

Kaman just needs to learn how to co-exist with Griffin - it'll just take some time, but they'll get there. Kaman and Griffin have the ability to be one of the top PF/C combo in the L.

yeah, they were feeding kaman in the crunch moments of the game, and in OT. and he screwed up like I've never seen before(actually, I HAVE seen it before, many many times, sadly...)

Why, must we go to Chris Kaman when its close ...its really frustrating. I understand that they probably do it because his size causes alot problems up front for some teams but cmon now....Chris Kaman is the Kwame Brown of the Clippers and its becoming disgraceful. Down the stretch I would rather blake griffin or eric gordon to have the ball KEEP IT AWAY FROM KAMAN im surprised vinny has not noticed that Kaman is horrible under pressure...ive seen it all...he tries to back down and he loses the ball, he tries to dribble the ball he loses it or dribbles off his foot, he cant pass out of a double team (for how long now?) I mean really at some point you just gotta say Damn we need to give this guy to another team and see if they can fix him....

Deandre is not lightyears ahead of Kaman but atleast deandre finishes around the hoop.....Sad

I like this thread and is perfect for how i feel right now.

I am tired of looking forward to a game just to have the Clippers lose. I hate Chris Kaman. Everytime the ball is in his hands or goes anywhere near him I cringe. I am tired of us (prior to these last two games) NEVER Having leads, NEVER GETTING DOUBLE DIGITS leads, staying within 2 or 3 points almost seemingly like catching up was an impossible feat....i hate that teams never suck against us, its like they play their hardest cause its the Clippers and no one wants to lose to us.

i am tired of bums (nobodies) that shoot lights out against us (happened against the spurs and some other game i forgot) i hate the 2nd half collapses. its like the coaches just tell the other teams "ok its the clippers go at em" n thats it its over. i hate that teams NEVER miss against us and SINCE we never f***** score we always go down

when other teams miss we other dont get the rebound, and the team gets it back and gets like a million tries until they finally score when other teams DO miss we dont score on the other end

have we ever scored 3 times in a row in the last decade? its like every night (even when we play sorry teams) we are playing a defensive powerhouse that just makes it impossible to score on

i hate that baron davis bricks everything i hate that rasual butler doesnt start over Gomes Gomes sucks and he sucks so much that when he doesnt completely suck (the standards are set so low) people say he has an ok game why doesnt rasual get minutes? he shoots a high percentage he finishes he is an overall better player

i love what Craig Smith brings to the table why doesnt he get more minutes? he is undersized but he always finishes, i mean in the paint has he ever missed a layup? he gets the ball and even though he is undersized he has the strength to get to the hoop and will the ball through WHY DOESNT ANYONE NOTICE THIS? he never fucks up, he always plays great, he rebounds, he hussles, he is a scorer that even last season would score when we would have those pathetic stretches where we couldnt buy a bucket

we are 1-6, why not use Willie Warren and give him some burn instead of burning out EG at the point? hes been great but we are losing why not give him some rest here n there n actually use a real PG?

why do the clippers throw the ball downlow to kaman like if he is Kareem? why not do this every single time down with Blake atleast? they double him and he can actually pass, but god forbid he passes to Kaman cause kaman is always under the hoop, dribbles 3 times and just misses horribly or gets the shot blocked....

i think thats it for now...hahahahahahhahahah but i think ima be using this thread alot during the season and so many of these things are so repetitive and THEY ALWAYS happen so you guys can cite my rant whenever you want to rant on the same matter.....

LETS GO CLIPPERS

oh a couple more things about Kaman why do we run that play for him where he gets a wide open look a little behind the FT line ...he misses more often than he makes it, and that takes him out of the paint thus giving us one less rebounder why?

why is it every single time when we are close, we go to Kaman and he completely kills everything for us or when we have leads, his misses shots or stupid mistakes lead to points on the other end?

when its close, going to him consecutive times in a row usually means fucks up or misses and when that happens its like "there goes the game" because they wont to kaman so many times

Butler should be our starter, Gomes is scared to shoot even when he's wide open. Butler has a scorers mentality, he forgets about the misses and has confidence to keep shooting. You wont make a 3 if you dont shoot them.

Give Aminu the starting spot for 5 games see how he does. I predict like Bledsoe he will make a lot of mistakes but will surprise the hell out of everyone because he will be a big upgrade over Gomes. His defense alone makes him starter worthy as well as his rebounding. Let's try it we have nothing to lose right now. LET'S GIVE THE CITY OF LA SOMETHING TO CHEER ABOUT!!!!!

Kaman has horrible hands thats his problem. Absolutely no touch in the low post. Jumper is ok. He needs to sleep with the basketball! Smith was the one who missed EASY buckets down low in the 2nd OT not Kaman! I've said it before LAST NIGHTS GAME WAS EPIC! What is wrong with you people!!!!! No the Clips didn't win But they are earning respect in the west and learning how to play with FIRE and finish games. The wins will come trust me..

I am getting tired of teams trying to punk Blake around cause they know he is so explosive. Its one thing to play him tough because he is a rookie but **** its becoming a trend now to foul with him nasty dirty fouls and its f***** sickening. It got me pissed that the Blazers committed them on a number of times tonight and NOTHING. THe marcus camby swat should have been a f***** flagrant cause he just hit him in the head.

This **** is getting disgraceful really. I hate how "oh well thats part of being the home team" **** THAT. Why cant they just call the game even? Or "well he is a rookie he is not going to get calls" **** THAT too. Its getting really annoying man that teams clobber him and the refs are just letting it go. T

(haha i was going to post this in a game thread but i just cut it and pasted it here haha)

well they did call a flagrant 1 on camby when he whacked blake in the head, TWICE. but i agree with you. blake has got to retaliate. maybe not flagrants but he has to get some hits in there when the refs aren't looking. he's a different kind of passionate where all he cares about is his team and his game and doesn't want to get a technical or hurt the team's chances in any way so he holds things back. i just want to see him get fired up and in someone's face when he get's a dirty shot directed at him. i think craig smith has sparked that sense of fire with the clippers and things will be different moving forward. or at least that's what i'm hoping.

How are the Clippers such a bad 3 point defending team? It's so frustrating to watch them give up so many uncontested 3 pointers. How hard hard is it to not leave your man. Hand down, man down.

Yup. It started with complacency. Now we've dug a hole for ourselves by giving teams hope that shouldn't have any, and giving ourselves doubts which didn't exist a few weeks ago.

^^^exactly, we came out on FIRREEEE this season and bought into our own hype, and now look at us. We lost to the fuckin Nets. Not just the nets, we shouldn't be losing to the Twolves, we shouldn't have come that close to losing to Houston (which we would've lost if Martin had hit that UNCONTESTED 3). We need to step it up. I seriously hope we get rid of Martin and Evans before the trade deadline.

Name an elite player who you wouldn't feel comfortable with having the ball in his hands during the last play. If you named someone who's a defensive stud, that's acceptable.

Too bad Blake's not a defensive stud.

while i agree that we shouldnt lose to the nets and the twolves, martin and evans have done more than gomes and cook by a monster margin. so suggesting we get rid of martin and reggie before cook and gomes is an incredulous suggestion.

I don't even think about Cook and Gomes because they do nothing but sit on the bench. We've lost games due to Martin's T's. Evans loves to turn the ball over if he's not rebounding. Obviously they've done more than Cook and Gomes, but just because they done more for us, doesn't mean they're doing much in the plus column. I was one of Evan's biggest supporters at the beginning of the season. That dude grabs EVERY rebound, but whats the point if as soon as you get passed the ball you freeze up? Last night Martin passed him the ball, he was RIGHT UNDER THE HOOP, and he froze up, and turned the ball over. That's ridiculous.

With Vinny coaching and 3 mostly worthless starters I feel like I get deja vu every single game. Since Chauncey went down I haven't seen a single game where Clippers won a game from start to finish. It's painful and predictable. Do any of you feel the same?

Even when we had chauncey, it was clear we were only winning those games because our best coach was on the court. There has not been one game this year where we have won the game not because of our ridiculous athleticism or a hot streak of 3s, but because of well coached set plays or any definable strategy. I think I would have rather not even had the surge in the clips organization, as now its so much harder to watch us stagger back down the mountain.

I feel ya. The front office should've done something to acquire a player yet they did nothing!!!!! The only move they made was increase ticket prices for next season. If they don't hire a competent coach plus sign better players to help Paul and Griffin for next season, I'm going to discourage all my friends from going to Clipper games. This situation would just feel like McCourt and the Dodgers.

The trade for CP3 is quickly turning out to be an utter waste of time. We have failed to improve one iota from last year outside of the brief stretch of time when Chauncey was playing.

Me too. I'd rather us have been 8th seed all season than plummet fro 2nd to 6th in such pathetic fashion.

  1. There's still 3 days left.

  2. Everyone's waiting on Dwight to see how everything shakes out.
