The Clippers have very interesting challenges this summer. After making the playoff but failing to repeat this year, and with Shaun Livingston out maybe for most if not all of next season, and with Sam not able to put up big minutes and being in the last year of his contract, The Clips have some big decisions to make.

I can't wait for the Clippers to announce their summer league team, and their workout schedule for potential draftees. After we know who they are going to draft, and after the summer league, we will begin to get some insight as to what the team is going to look like next year.

The draft is not until the last day of June, 33 days from now. The summer league is not until July 6. The Lakers have left the now fledgling Long Beach summer league to join the Las Vegas circuit and many of the top draft prospects will be there as well. It is going to be exciting. And some of us thought that maybe we wouldn't have anything to talk about this summer

So, who will the Clippers draft? Will Guillermo Diaz and Sofo "Baby Shaq" both be here for our summer league team? Will both players be invited to camp? Will both players make next years lineup? Will we sign a free agent, and if so, who will it be? Will we make a trade? Who will we trade for? Who will we give up to make the trade? I have questions, who has answers? .

i just had an email conversation with Eric Pincus who writes for Hoopsworld and a coule of other pubs and he says that there still is no word on whether Baby Shaq is coming this summer. He did confirm what I have heard that Guillermo Diaz is coming to summer league and camp and to the roster next season unless he has some sort of setback. Eric is not high on Rudy and thinks he is just another Sasha V. But thinks the Clippers should take Jeff Green or Acie Law is either are still available at 14.

I'm sure Rudy would take that as a major insult being compared to Sasha Vujacic Smile. Personally I haven't seen Sasha dunking over people lately. Acie Law should be a nice pick, but I'm not sure if Jeff Green is what the Clippers need. He's a talented do-it-all player, but the Clippers need a shooter and probably not a pass-first small forward.

David, I usually read Eric's articles and we talk every once in a while. A lot of his stuff is very insightful but at other times he is a little off base, but aren't we all sometimes. I think Rudy is a lot more athletic than Sasha, and Acie Law certainly wouldn't be a bad pick. But I think Rudy would be more important to us because our offense needs a shooting/scoring point guard more than a fast breaking PG. We have a slow down offense. Rudy can play PG, SG, and SF for us and score from all three positions. He can drive to the hoop or shoot the 3. He handles the ball well and makes great passing decisions. He is not a one trick pony. Depending on who we get either in free agency or a trade, Rudy can move to another spot and still produce. I'm in.

Oh no nothing against Eric of course- I mean he could turn into a Sasha but it just seems pretty unlikely. But yeah whoever drafts Rudy will have to contend with his buyout issue. It'll be interesting- we all just hope that the Clippers pick a good proven player!

I pity tha fool who drafts Joakim Noah. A tweener who can't shoot very well. He's projected to be a top 10 pick, and he should be a low second round pick if you ask me. The guy played well in college, but the NBA will chew him up unless he improves his offensive game.

Also who the heck is Tiago Splitter?? Do we really want to draft another Center??

acie law has the experience and is a proven winner, if he's there, we must take him. the pg situation hurt us badly this year with cassell always being injured, and livingston trying to find a groove and develop chemistry with the players and the finally injuring himself in the end.

I was the clippers draft Alice Law. I haven't heard a lot about Rudy Fernandez and Theo Papaloukas I have to look more on em. Reason why I say Alice Law is a better choice because he is NBA ready and is a proven winner and is also a crunch time player and the Clippers need a true PG since Livingston is out injured and Cassell almost in retirement bound. Keep Jason Hart as backup because he will provide great depth if Alice Law or Cassell gets injured. Put Korolev to the NBDL because they should have put him there to begin with then do not sign Sofo because he is not in NBA shape and he is too much overweight. That has been the Clippers biggest issue last year which was the PG position and SF spot with Tim Thomas. Tim Thomas is definitely a guy you do not want on your team especially if you're the Clippers he has no defense and is inconsistent on offense.

I also forgot Guillermo Diaz put in the NBDL for a year then sign. The LA Clippers biggest setback is drafting players without committing to put em to the NBDL to develop the NBA ready skills.

I agree with SteelLAC. The Clippers underutilize the NBDL. Dunleavy has some strategy there, but I have no idea what that might be.

However, Korolev is no longer eligible for the NBDL, only 1st & 2nd year players are eligible. So the clock has run out for him. Also, he is an unrestricted free agent this summer, so it might be a moot point.

I agree with you on the development process (or lack thereof) and also with Tim Thomas. I think he was a terrible signing and a waste of money, but that's my opinion. Time will tell...well a short amount of time (like this year)
