I think the coach and the gm start out to create the team. But when we signed Tim Thomas last year who's fault was it it was Dunleavy and Elgin Baylors fault. You see when I listened to Jeff Van Gundy's convo 2 nights ago he said that if you grab the wrong good player in the league that your team will lose games. What we should have got is a player that plays defense and some offense. That was true for 2006-07 season for the Clips because they got Tim Thomas, Daniel Ewing, Yaroslav Korolev, Guillermo Diaz, and Paul Davis which was a total waste of lottery picks. When you said they needed to fire Dunleavy is it because his coaching chemistry doesn't match up well with the players? And when you said they should have hired P.J. Carlisemo is it because he coaches better than Dunleavy? I think Mike has got his hands full in this Draft. You got to have player that matches up well to the coaches philosophy that way they can score well on a daily basis. I still don't know how to build a good team whether it starts with the players, owners, or GMs.

I think it's hard to blame everything on a particular party- it was more of a combination of things- injuries, bad training camp, personal problems (e.g. Kaman) and conflicts (Maggette), drop-offs in defense and offensive production from pretty much everyone, being too complacent, etc etc. I think coming into next season everyone is going to be way more determined to do better.

You said it "Complacency". Last year there was the "fight for everything" attitude. This year, it got harder as it should, and I dont think the Clips were ready for it. They got some lucky breaks in their early games and we all thought it was gonna be a great season, but they dropped off the map soon afterwards and it took the last few months to get their fighting attitude together and make a playoff stand, that wasnt soon enough. The rose colored glasses have been cracked, so-to-say...Some internal retrospective and a common goal, combined with a good draft, and it's gonna be a great season in november!
