I don't think Mobley is getting any better he needs to improve on his shooting. I'm pointing fingers at him I am blaming Mobley why we haven't made the playoffs and Kaman too. Tim Thomas was ok but not blaming him he's a bench quality player. If Mobley don't shape up next year look for a trade for Mobley next year Maggettee is better than Mobely so Maggettee won't go no where. I know Kaman will bounce back but the biggest question will Mobley bounce back?

Trade Mobley? I'm not convinced. I think we wouldn't get a ton of value for him. He's at an age that he won't get any better like you said. But every other team knows that as well. Plus he's not a cheap salary for someone to take on.

I would like to see him come off the bench as a veteran scorer. He can still break down defenses, especially the opponents' 2nd units. He might be expensive as a bench player (but how much is Stckhouse earning?), but with Corey, Ross and whoever we draft/sign, we might not need him as a starter.

I agree with Ether. He is a veteran, who is best suited now in his career as a strong role player. And remember all those games when Mobley was dead on shooting and gave us offense when we had troubles getting it from injured Cassell, worn out Brand and Maggette who for half of the season had problems with the head coach. He is valuable. If we can get a reliable shooter to start at SG, Mobley has the perfect role. Guillermo Diaz, Nick Young, Rudy Fernandez, Ray Allen, or someone else??

He fits better on the bench I agree but you have to answer this question who will be our Shooting Guard then? Diaz and N.Young don't have no NBA experience; whatsoever, their opportunity as a starter could arise soon.

His inconsistency can appear at times too.

Yeah I agree- I mean unless he can be packaged with draft picks for an All-Star player it's much better to have a vet like Cat on our team. He's still got the goods and the experience. He was an iron-man last season too- playing so many minutes.

Wow. Trade Mobley? Am I hearing that you want to trade one of the most solid and consistent players on the team? A player who actually believes in the team and has the mentality of a team player? Who's also an upstanding citizen and worthy of wearing Clipper red? Remember when Mobley was willing to give up his starting role Maggette, just so Maggette wouldn't get upset at management?

I suppose in the cutthroat world of the NBA anything's possible. So who do you think we'd get for Catino? More spare parts? Catino isn't getting any younger; what you see is what you get. The only team I could see taking him is one that's very young (and could use Catino's steadying influence) or a team that thinks they can win a Championship now. At the very least, I'd want to keep Catino as a player on our rotation to develop and supplement any SG we might get in this years draft.

Surprisingly though, over the years Catino's defense has actually Improved...

Yeah Cat has solid D, and can guard bigger guys too. I think he's still in his prime and probably won't tail off much this coming season.

Cuttino Mobley needs to work on his shot selection and his speed.

umm, there's no way a person can work on his speed. Either youre young and still growing and your speed may increase, you have speed and you have only time to lose it, or you dont have speed and never will.

well if you listen to the radio or watch him on tv he turnovers the ball at times that's due to lack of quickness and shot selection and sometimes his ball handling.

Mobley does suffer from poor shot selections at times. However, this is a problem with most SG/SFs in the league. I don't think Mobley's shot selection or thought patterns are anywhere poor as Maggette (what was his 3 pt% this year?), and Maggette was great last year. Anyways, what I did see a lot more of this year was Mobley driving to the hole, Mobley getting fouled, and Mobley converting his freethrows. This shows he's not just a standstill shooter and knows he can also put the ball down.

Mobley has to improve his shooting touch he struggled through that last year also. One game 25 second game he can get 10 that's a lack of consistency.

I have noticed though, that when Mobley is having an off-night, he usually tends to back off on the field goal attempts. Some games he led the way, but until Maggette got it right with Dunleavy, Brand was getting doubled, Kaman wasnt getting enough shots and our offense struggled. So in my opinion, Mobley did a lot to jump start our offense, as well as play the best defense effort can provide even though he's not as quick as he used to be. And the intangibles and veteran leadership are big strengths.

Yeah I agree JLemm- plus he's always playing big minutes. If he doesn't play as many minutes perhaps he'll be resher and be even more effective.
