I have been a Clippers TopBuzz memeber for a very long time, probably three years. I do not like how this site is being run. If I want to make a post, it is not being posted as a heading but put in a stupid official trade thread where it can't be seen. Whoever is running this site, I appreciate your effort, but you need to stop putting things in threads. It is anoying. If I want to say, hey, how about Kaman for Ben Gordon, thats the topic, nothing more. Otherwise I'm gone and try and find another site. Is there another fan site.

According to your "joined July 19, 2007" tag you've been here for about a year and 5 months.

If I understand correctly you're saying if you make a completely new thread it gets placed into an existing thread? If that's the case it might be because it is too similar to an already popular existing thread and the mods are trying to tone down new threads being created every 5-10 minutes. Like your trade idea of Kaman for Ben Gordon might of been moved into the official trade thread or something like that.

edit: I see you indeed said it was moved into the official trade thread. So when it was moved there did the official trade thread bounce to the top of the list? Cause then people will notice someone made a post on there recently. If it didn't and stayed buried under all the other threads....then I guess that's annoying and I would agree with you that people might not notice you posted.

Run it up with David. This site is a good site, every site has its kinks, but whatever. This site could definately go through a overhaul - but hey, as it stands its working and its a great place to be.

Actually, I use to have a differnet password for this site and user name; I think everybody on this site now is new. I did like the old administrator, I think it was David. Is he still running the show. I'm just saying the old way was better, that all where you just post a comment and have people comment back. Besides, I've been a clipper fan longer than any of you any way. A lot of you are band wagon when Cassel joined the team. But don't worry, I don't blaim you, unleast your still around and your not a laker fan. Thank god.

wowwww... sparky... easy. we are all Clipper fans here - some pf us newer than others, but it does not break the fact that we are all Clipper fans. I hate when people try to measure their fandom... YOU ARE NOT THE BEST CLIPPER FAN, NEITHER AM I, OR DARRELL, OR ANYONE. Just people need to shut the hell up and stop trying to compete with one another. If you are pleased by aesthetic means you should be on the Purple and Gold side. They are materialistic fake fans that just try to show how much bigger and better fans they are, ITS NOT APART OF OUR NATURE.

Heck, for all you know he could be using a new username too and was a memeber since before you were born.

Eitherway, Clipper Nation needs to reamain humble.

I originally remember seeing Clipper games on channel 5 when I was a kid in the 1980s. But just like any other kid at the time living in LA, I was a showtime Laker fan. It was more fun. I wasn't really a big basketball fan anyway back then. I started to lose interest in basketball until in 1991-or 1992, the Clippers were starting to beat the Lakers. I always liked underdogs and I routed for the Clippers. Then I disapeeared from basketball. I started to collect baseball cards and basketball cards, and my cousin told me in the beginning in 1993 that there was a player named Akeem Olajuwan, now Hakeem that was incredible so I bought his card and started falling his stats in the paper. In 1994, I was surprised to see Houstan in the finals and became a fan. That was when Cassel was a rookie and he was good. I was a Houstan fan. For two years.

But here is where I have shame. Unfortunately, I had a friend who was a die hard Laker fan. Shaq moved to my city, Manhattan Beach, and he told me how good the Lakers were without Shaq with Nick Van Exel, Eddie Jones, Elden Campell, Cedric Ceballos. We hated Vlade. So I turned to the dark side and joined the Lakers for five years. But then the Lakers were boring to watch. The players like Eddie Jones, Nick, were traded away and Kobe and Shaq were not fun to watch. I didn't like being on the top. Then Michael Olowakandi moved up the street from my parents. I heard the media on him and I began watching Clipper games. I like start up teams that build from the bottom and rise to the top. The Lakers were like that in 1996, but I jumped off the band wagon when they were winning. Ever since then I followed the Clippers religiously, first getting Odom, I wanted Baron Davis, then Miles Q, Dooling Maggette, and all the other mistakes until 1996, when Cassel was with us. So, I hope that answers your question.

Well, going back to the original point of this thread........I am an admin on this site but I only write articles occasionally and set up the polls. I do not merge threads, as far as I know David does that. Dave and I are buds, but I do take issue occasionally when he has merge my threads. I have on occasion missed a thread with the same exact topic. Sometimes this happens when two guys are submitting the same topic at the exact time. But I agree with ClippersBlue, if you have a new trade idea and you start a thread, you should be respected and have the opportunity for all TopBuzz members to air out your idea. To go and dump it into a 6 month old "Official" thread that is dead and dying to me is an insult. If Threads are good, they have life and stay up at the top of the Forum. If they are bad and nobody cares, they will die a slow death and drop out of the Forum. Let the members decide, not the admins, and only merge the obvious threads with the same exact topic. JamFan

Yeah same here I'm an admin but only for articles. I can't merge and wouldn't (because I knew threads like this would come up). But David and Clipper*Joe has access to do that, and it's in their power and right to do it. I know you guys don't agree but we don't want the forum filled with little posts of trades, that IS what the official thread is for. I personally don't really like when the forum is cluttered up with the same topics but in alot of different threads so I have to check every single one.

Especially since all the trades are centered around one player lately, Chris Kaman.

I amy be new to this site but I for one am glad this is here. I am a member of a Dodger fan forum as the one provided by MLB is full of insane posters so a private one was started so "normal" people could post. I searched for something like that in Clipper world and found this site. Although probably older that most on this board and my Dodger board, I don't have time to cruise through all the websites and my head is too full with useless information to try and remember all the stats many of the younger fans dwell on, so I join thees forums in order to learn by having a single point of contact to get my information. And yes,,we merge threads on the Dodger board too.

I can't see what date joining this board has to do with how long you've been a Clipper fan though.

Sorry you feel that way CB. As far as merging threads go, can you specify a specific thread that has been merged to a more general topic?

The only ones I have merged have been specific topics that have been duplicated. I take the the newest thread and merge with the original.

Or merging the fire Dunleavy threads in the last few weeks. Other than that, I haven't touched anything.

Plus, I don't remember ever moving or merging a thread you have created in recent weeks.

As far as this site goes, david has always been the administrator here...nothing has changed. David just wants to keep the forum "clean & neat".

I'm baaaack from the cruise! Let me address this.

The purpose of the official trade ideas thread is to just that- discuss trade IDEAS. In theory, there could be thousands of possibilities for that, so it makes things really messy to have so many of these trade ideas. The official trade idea very visible once someone posts in it- like any other thread it will go to the front page. Most people don't want the front page filled with trade ideas- am I wrong?

Sorry if anyone feel offended getting their threads merged- it's really not meant to demean at all! Clipper Joe is doing an awesome job ensuring that the site rules and guidelines are followed- so if anyone else have any complaints please direct them at me.

BTW this thread belongs in the "Everything Else" Section. Razz

I haven't been on this site very long, but I give credit to everyone involved in putting it together and maintaining it, especially David. If you have a problem with the way the site it administered pm the administrators, don't make it public. Don't forget, this is a free site. I feel that this thread should be removed.

David, Clipperjoe, et all. I love this site. The expertise and analysis which is displayed is overwhelming. I am usually afraid to post my opinions because I don't feel that I am as knowledgeable about the Clippers or basketball in general. I am learning a great deal from this site, and I am thankful that it exists. I did have one problem with the site and pm'd David with it. I am sure he'll take care of my request when he gets a chance.
