I read the Draft Express profile, and it seems that everybody was impressed with Jared. Not athletic, just effective.

they said this on ESPN- Jordan was one of the best pure point guards and one of the most enjoyable players in the draft. He lacks size and athleticism, but he has great court vision. Nice pick for the Clippers.

Also on Thornton- Interesting pick for the Clippers. He's kind of like Corey Maggette, which means it's far from a good fit. He doesn't have a great basketball IQ, but he is the second-best athlete in the draft. And they will love the energy he plays with. A wrist injury may have hurt his stock a bit

Ok...time to weigh in on the draft. I was also leaning towards Nick Young, but I'll take Al Thorton for sure. At least we know he can step in and help this year while some of the other options were possibly players we would have to wait for. Of course, if we had drafted Danny Granger instead of Yaroslav Korolev then Nick Young may have been this years pick. I think Dumbleavy learned from his big mistake in 2005.

Jared Jordan is a good chance to take...a sort of John Stockton type. Not athletic but a good ballhandler and passer. Pretty good pick for a second rounder.

Here's were it may get better. When New York traded Steve Francis to Portland for Zach Randolph, I read that sources have said that Francis will be bought out this summer and he'll become a free agent. Maybe Cuttino Mobley should start calling his best friend and put a little bug in his ear to come to the Clippers. I still think Francis has some game left in him...he just didn't want to be in New York. And he probably can be had on the cheap if Portland actually does buy him out. So maybe we can solve our point guard problem in the free agent field.

I dunno if Francis wants to play with us though we have to ask ourselves does he fit in Dunleavy's system?

I like that possibility. Maybe just a one-year deal if possible. I mean Portland just drafted and traded for a combined 2 or 3 MORE point guards so I'm sure they're planning to buyout Francis or trade some of those surplus PGs.

Not a bad idea about StevieFranchise, Benoit...Mobley would be happier than a pig in S*** with that. His 2 best friends playing along side him. It would solve the PG problem at least for a few good years. That would give us better chances at playing for a championship this year. With all those players Portland took, and considering they have Jarrett Jack and many others at PG, maybe theres some big time stock in that rumor.

Did anybody listen to Elgin Baylor on the Joe Mcdonnell show. He was really surprised that Thronton was there. At first, I was like another forward!!! (Brand, Maggette, Singleton, Thomas, Ross) But they are saying that this kid has some talent. Baylor ruled out a trade, and drafting and is looking to sign a guard in free agency. He sounded like with what we have, that he wants to win now.

Either way, it's a win/win draft for us, and I am satisfied with it.

To bad we couldn' pick up Ray Allen, but he is up there.

Wow, I think that takes Golden State a step back, and a nice improvement to Charotte.

Portland did very nice. (Oden,Frye,Roy) Nice young trio.

Yep, I was confused with the pick, but in the end, I like it. And we should have been in the playoffs last year, so winning I think is the only thing the Clips are thinking about and I'm absolutely confident they are gonna beat teams consistently and make the playoffs. This draft produced an underrated player who can step in and contribute off the bench right away and a point guard who can avidly distribute the ball. Now it's time to lock up Q-Ross somehow, to help at SG and SF.
