Hey guys and gals...

It's been a long long time since I've posted on here. Just hadnt had a lot of time...and considering there's been a ton more people added to the discussions than there was last year, I just didnt feel the urge to read everything on this site.

But since you people are awesome, I had to check in.

Just have some thoughts on the wild Clippers season. I really like the way the team is playing. Novak is getting the chance to do what he's supposed to do (shoot). Thornton and Gordon are making the most of their leading roles. DeAndre and Mr. Samb are getting some good experience (although they need fundamental work obviously). Freddy Jones and Mardy Collins been playing well. Jason Hart and Ricky Davis are dissapointing.

I also think the Clippers need to trade Chris Kaman. Wait until the deadline, and try to trade him to the Thunder, Wizards or Kings for their first rounder. And get a somewhat decent player in return also. That way we can get a very very good shot at drafting Blake Griffin. He can learn under Marcus Camby for a year, and then when Camby is probably not re-signed (age factors)...he can start. Plus we'd have an additional lottery pick with our own choice.

One of those teams could use a veteran presence among the talented youth. Maybe the Thunder would take Kaman.

Blake Griffin would be the perfect draft pick for us....with some luck maybe we'll get him.

Well hope everything is going well for everyone...and especially for David, DWB, Clipper Joe, Henry, Miquel, Calm_Insanity, the infamous JAMFAN...and anyone else, I apologize for missing, but give yourself a pat on the back for sticking with the Clippers. I'll try to check in more often here.

lets say we did trade chris for a first rounder from one of those potential top 3 teams. what happens if we miss out on blake griffin? how exposed do we become at the 5. blake's a true PF.

trading kaman is a recipe for disaster

I've always threatend to want to trade Kaman (espcially when he played like he did in the preseason), but the guy is still a top player. Stated before he only started slumping after the injury he suffered in the OKC game so he was playing hurt from there on out and that was when he declined and eventually shut it down.

Another thing Camby in no way should be in anybodies long term plans past next season, unless a miracle happens and we go DEEP in the playoffs. Camby is going to Bolt like the star runner if not dealt. With Camby gone and Kaman gone anyone we get won't give us what Kaman will. With trading Camby if there is a clear sign he is leaving and we aren't in the playoffs again we keep the young bigs (Z-Bo, Jordan and Kaman) plus can get some talent in return to strengthen the bench.

My issue with the current "Kaman sitituation" is I believe the recent story of Kaman's insecurity to come back out of fear of being traded. I don't put too much blame on Kaman on this but on the FO for lack of communication with their talent (this brings Elton Brand flashbacks all over again). Why hasn't Kaman one of our star players not felt secure about his spot. He is our core guy the franchise should assure him that the franchise is commited to making it work and he has nothing to worry about. Wth all this going on where is player managment to tie this thing up so Kaman can be focused on playing ball instead of fearing being traded at any second.

Hehe thanks for your thoughts Jeremy, I'm glad you checked in!

I must agree with ekker though, I would ONLY trade Kaman if we got another center in return. Our center position is not solidified yet... Even though right now the position is still in danger with Kaman getting injured so much. But let's hope this is the last of his injuries and that he can be trustworthy afterwords. At least he won't be mad coming off the bench since he owes it to us, we've been supporting him even while he's injured. It's the least he can do.

You should post on here more often. The mood has brightened a bit- now we're seeing what our "bench" is truly capable of with almost all our starters out! Think of it this way, the squad we're playing right now (that is actually battling with other NBA starters) is going to be COMING OFF THE BENCH for our healthy team of even better (yet less motivated, last time I saw them) players. That's going to be exciting.

Thanks for staying with the Clips and for mentioning my name Smile

I don't know if Camby would bolt as fast as you guys think...

He's pretty happy here, his kids love it here, he loves the weather, and Camby's a really good guy. He values the team and his friendships over winning. Didn't you see how devastated he was to leave the Nuggets? Any time he's left a team in the NBA it's because of a trade.

Call me crazy but I have a feeling Camby doesn't like leaving teams or being traded. He's a true professional and he himself has said how much he loves the talent on this team. He wouldn't leave it when he has that much faith.

He's even sticking up for Gordon who isn't getting foul calls. And the season is pretty much over for playoffs, yet he cares about the development of our players.

That is hopeful thinking and I hope your right next season will make the difference. If we go play a strong season and get it done, go into the playoffs and advance a round or two I can see him coming back.

But if we have another lackluster season, I can't see the guy not wanting to finish his career in another direction. So again I hope your right a lot rides on where we are after it is all said and done next season.

Hey Jeremy, keyboard finally thaw enough for you to chip in? Nice to hear from you again... thought maybe you'd been struggling with Favre withdrawal or something. Blake Griffin eh? I like him, (how could you not?) he's a rock. The guy is one of the most athletic strong men I've seen in a while. I'm not sure he fits at center... wouldn't he be more a power (emphasis on that word in his case) forward type? Regardless he'd be a nice piece for anyone to have, just don't know if Kaman would be the best way to go to get him. CK WILL be aces for this team if he ever heals, it really sucks that he hasn't been able to maximize on that nice start to the season he had. Ah well, maybe the second half will bring out the REAL Clippers! And, hopefully a few more observations from the frozen north!

i agree with ekker- it is a risk to trade for a draft pick when you dont know exactly what pick it will be. what if we had our high pick and the thunder's first round pick, but we end up getting the 2nd and 4th pick or something in a draft that is weak. then we most likely dont get griffin and theres a chance we cant fill the hole at center that kaman leaves, unless deandre is a lot more improved by then. while its hard to be patient with our season the way it is going, i think our best move is going to be to let the entire team get healthy and give a healthy team the last 20-25 games of the year to judge what moves we need to address. if things dont improve, then maybe we can trade kaman in the offseason, but all we know right now is that kaman may be the perfect fit when our team is healthy.

well to all of you guys that dont want to trade kaman, think about it reasonably. ever since he started to play good, hes been injured more than half the season (o7-08 and this year) so this kinda tells me that the hard play that kaman is doing is putting too much pressure on kamans body. this tells me that kaman is not ment to play good, because his body cannot keep up with his talents. he is more bad than good. i understand that he is a top 10 center, but id rather have a top 50 center thats healthy than a top 10 center that is injured more than half of the season. and i also know for a fact that when we trade him he is going to get healthy for whatever team he plays for. i know that he will be a clipper killer, becasue that is always the clipps luck. but, id rather have him killing us when hes on another team, than have him kill us when hes on our team with his injuries, his pay, and his roster spot. this is just my well thought out opinion.

Thanks for chiming in JLemm- miss seeing your posts bud- hopefully you can find some more time to post! I wouldn't mind seeing Kaman traded for talented shooting guard/small forward. Frankly I wouldn't mind seeing Baron traded for that SF/SG we really need either. It all depends on who we'd get in return.

Yeah. I had realized some weeks ago that you weren't posting as usual in the past but I supose you must have better things to do than writing about our recent situation. This season is definetelly a nightmare as you can see. Hopefully you find more time to post since I always thought you had interesting points of view...

About your ideas. Man, I don't want more draft picks. I don't want more promises. I don't want more potential. I want to win. Now. Sincerely I'm lost and I don't know what we have to do to win. We have good pieces but this year experiment is being depressing. Trade kaman?Trade BDavis?I don't know. I'm pretty sure that the first thing to do is fire our coach...Anyways if we trade players I don't draft picks. I want quality players. That's all.

Yeah I may be jumping to rash decisions, but to me, Baron Davis foremost isnt the quality player that people thought he might be. At least he hasnt proven it yet. I'll give him to the end of this year. I dont have much of a problem with Kaman (except his lack of tenacity), but I just think we could get better players for him. And I want Blake Griffin even if he's more of a PF, lol.

I'm sure the Pistons could use Baron Davis.
