The Clippers do battle w/ their crosstown rivals tomorrow night in a designated Laker home game. Will the Clippers be able to slow down Kobe Bryant? Or perhaps more importantly slow down Lamar Odom (Who's going to guard him)? How will the struggling Chris Kaman fair against the surging Andrew Bynum? If the Clippers can answer all these questions in positive ways they should come out on top- we'll see!

Tonight is a must win to show who is the king in LA...Odom is playing really well and maybe it will be the key...anyways, as we have always said in this forum we have a better squad than them so far...so we are suposed to win.Let's see the answer of our inside players, specially kaman, who is going to "dance" with Bynum...let's see if kaman can teach him how to move in the paint...bryant isn't scoring so much as last years but it seems that they have improved since last season...I hope to see many clippers jerseys tonight!!!!

Yea it's gonna be a tough crowd but hopefully lots of Red & White in there. I hope CM & TT will give the Laker second unit all they can handle. TT is gonna get a tough reception from the Laker crowd and gonna shut them up with some 3's Wink.

HALFTIME...What is up with the free throw situation?? Brand missing, Magette missing....they'd be winning if they'd make their free throws. The Lakers seem to be doing better on the glass too. They got a lot of attempts in the second quarter. Kaman has 8 points. So they must be going inside to him. Sam I Am needs to heat up and this game is ours!!! We Will See. Kobe and Odom with 3 fouls (thats a good sign).

Yeah it's crazy, especially Maggette- he's been really off at the line this season. The Lakers are playing pretty solid defense, but the Clippers really need to be more aggressive. Kaman is doing very well- 8 points and 8 boards w/ 4 blocks. Let's see if Sam and Cat can heat up in the 2nd half.

Geez the Clippers are not playing smart defense on Kobe & Odom. Those two just want to keep driving to the basket but the Clippers are playing them too tight. Let them brick from the outside! ARGH!

Ok...let's take a look at tonight's game. Very disappointing. The Clippers have to learn that the game is 48 minutes and they need to play smart for that entire time. I'm not going to bring up the fact that the Lakers shot 25 more free throws than the Clippers because this is a game the Clips should have won. Coming out of halftime, Lamar Odom, the Lakers 2nd leading scorer and a big part of the Lakers, had 3 fouls, along with Kobe Bryant. Odom is guarding Chris Kaman, who had just played the best half of basketball we've seen from him this year. So the smart thing is to get the ball inside to Kaman and draw Odom's fourth foul. However, Kaman only gets the ball on the block 3 times during the entire 3rd quarter...and one of those was him getting an offensive rebound! I blame Coach Dunleavy and Sam Cassell for this. Dunleavy should demand that the ball go inside and Cassell, the leader on the court, should make sure this happens. I'm not liking what I'm seeing from the team so far this year. I don't like the slow starts that seem to be happening every game...I don't like the carelessness with the ball and the amount of turnovers...I don't like the way the offense is being run(too much coming from the outside)...I don't like the lack of defense. Come on Clippers, get it together.

It seemed like once Kaman missed that first shot in the 3rd Cassell decided that he needed to step up and he did, but the Lakers stretched out their lead wider. I thought they didn't play smart defense either- it was really frustrating to see all those fouls they got- they kept playing too tight. Getting outshot at the free throw line 46-21??? That's just not going to get it done. They played much better D in the 4th but there are just so many times you can stop Kobe- eventually he's going to get fouled and/or make sick shots, and tonight was no different. The Clippers just didn't take advantage of earlier opportunities- too many turnovers. Very disappointing but they really could've pulled it out if they had better focus offensively after they got the lead.

D*mn Fakers oh well we get them next time. -$5 for me. Stupid refs hurt us with bad calls. Everytime we go to the basket and get contact whistle doesn't sound and evertime the Clippers pinky a Laker it's a FOUL??? GO CLIPS!!!

Dissapointing but we are only in the beginning of the season...there are 3 more games for to show that we are better. At least, it seems that Kaman has stepped up...Maybe sometimes Dunleavy should start to move the bench with players like Ewing and Singleton...

Yup I think we have a good chance of seeing Ewing and Singleton tonight since it's a back-to-back. Maybe Aaron Williams also.

Singleton needs to start playing!!! it takes the heat off Brand and Kaman to get rebounds, and allows them to score. Also, I dont really care for Tim Thomas's offensive presence. Yeah he made 4 threes that one game, but he is dead cold almost all the time. All he is really doing well is rebounding. But Singleton does that also, and he doesnt try to score all the time. So this would solve our problem of shooting too much and not being patient. I got a question to anyone who's been watching the games... Why are the turnovers happening? does it seem to be a lack of concentration, or fundamentals mistakes, or what? Just curious. But the turnover battle should begin with the leadership of our point guards. I have no idea if that is happening.

I am replying to my own message after thinking about it.....I think the Thomas signing was not exactly the best thing. I dont mind him being on the team, i just mind that he's getting big minutes for being inconsistent. Maybe i'll be biting my tongue come playoff time, but I just think we need someone who we can rely on to shoot threes and let Singleton play in the power forward from the bench. Anyone else agree???

Tim Thomas is playing decent ball...not hitting as many three's as we would have wanted yet, but he is capable. Besides, remember what we could have had...the first offer was to Vladimir Radmanovic for more money and more years. Look at what he's doing on the Lakers! So it's not all bad. Although, we do need a three point shooter. Unfortunately, there's not too many good ones in the league anymore and the ones that are around (Ray Allen, Paul Pierce) are going to cost a high price in a trade...probably Maggette and Livingston.

I think Thomas playing decent- he has his moments. In general though it looks like his defense is not all that great- his lateral movement is a little slow, so I think playing him at small forward too often is probably not a good idea.... He's been the streakiest from deep for sure- he'll brick 5 in a row and then hit 4 straight. Cat Mobley is supposed be be the main 3 point threat but he certainly hasn't been consistent. Sam can stroke it from there but not so far this season. Ewing is capable but he hasn't played. It looks like Q & Shaun have improved from there but they usually don't take it unless the clock is running down. That'd be great if they could show some consistency from there.

Yeah, the three point line is a huge weakness for the Clippers. It's one of the reasons teams can get away with double and triple teaming Kaman and Brand. The team may have to do something major to improve this area. I'm talking trading some good players for a proven player...Paul Pierce.
