I was talking to a guy at my gym who interviews the clippers and knows the European leagues that the reason Baby Shaq won't be coming to the clippers is that he has gained 40 to 50 pounds and that he didn't even play last year that much for his greek club team. The coach they originally had that motivated and got on Baby Shaq left. Since he gained all that weight and was out of shape the whole season, he barely played. Baby Shaq seems to lack self motivation and discipline. If this is his attitude, he won't be playing in the NBA.

Welcome clipperblue12! Thanks for the Sofoklis Schortsanitis report. That's too bad he's gained so much weight, maybe the Clippers ought to send a dietitian over there to help him out Wink. Right now he sounds more like a "Baby" than "Shaq"....

The Greek team keep signing him to contracts. Maybe the only way he will wake up is if he wakes up one day at 350lbs. and with an expired contract, and nobody offers him a job. Its to bad that being broke would be his only motivation. You have to have some pride.

Actually, I just heard Mike Dunleavy on a local radio sports show this past week. He said that the Clippers thought they had Baby Shaq signed last year. They had the cap space and an apparent agreement but the signing period hadn't begun. By the time it did begin, Baby Shaq and his agent had decided to stay in Greece. From what Dunleavy said, agents only get something like 3% of an NBA contract but 10% of a foreign contract. He also said that the Clippers didn't have the financial flexibility to bring him over this year, but that they would have space next year. But he also said that a lot of it is up to Baby Shaq (dang, I hate that name...I wish his real name was easier to spell) so that was probably an inference to his weight issues, motivation, work habits, and desire to come to the NBA. We'll see next year.

Hey Benoit, you have been invited to come up to San Luis Obispo for a weekend getaway. We have a pickup game for you to play in, typically an over 40 crowd on a short-full court with soft wood floors. And church rims that cradle every shot. I just wanted to see the look on my buds faces when you walk into the gym. So tell me which weekend you can come and I will do the rest. I will just tell them that you are Baby Shaq. Oh, and TopBuzz fans are invited to come and watch. Just as long as they don't make fun of my 3 point shot. The church rims no longer help me very much. I think that EB's film crew will probably want to come and carry the game live on Fox.

Hey JamFan, you're going to tell them I'm Baby Shaq? Are you calling me fat??? LOL I don't know about that pickup game....I'd probably come to play with two left shoes (just like the real Benoit Benjamin did for an NBA road game...couldn't suit up because of it!!) I do like the sound of having a short-full court though...can I just stand at the offensive end and cherry pick??? LOL

Hey, you can play barefoot. My game is just like Rick Barry's.......well, 20 years ago............uh..........maybe not. But when we walk on the floor we will scare them to death. We are scary aren't we? Let me get my game face on.
