Hey all,

Here's my latest - mostly it's on other stuff (Phil Jackson's foot - Kg's knee)

http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=12214

Here's the part on Camby (although I certainly could use the page views if you have the time):

I'm working on my "fixing the clippers" article - when I get a chance - should be good (I hope Smile )

Maybe that million dollar savings will help with eating Dunleavy's contract.

Coaches salaries don't count against the cap. Dun is probably gone at the end of the year but keeping a role as GM

I know it doesn't go against the cap. Saving a million dollars is still saving a million dollars. If we fired Dunleavy we would still owe him around 11 million. Put Camby's savings on that and you could say we only owe him 10 million.

I was only saying since it does not count against the cap, whats the difference? You would be able to spend that money on a player. It would really have nothing to do with Dunleavy. So that million dollars is money eligible to spend on players, since the two have nothing to do with each other.

Great article ( overall), Emplay. Can't wait to see your perspective on "fixing" the Clippers.

if The Clippers bring in a new coach,

Dunleavy wont like it and leave as the GM.

He thinks he's a better coach.

Dunleavy knows he should've been fired by now. He stated earlier in the year that the only reason he's still around is his contract. Dunleavy does have a very strong personality, but I think he might be smart enough to figure a change needs to be made. I have a feeling the team will give him the option to remain GM and if he turns it down they'll just fire him out right. The same thing happened with Baylor. Baylor was given the option to stay on in a lesser roll at the same salary, but he declined.

Dunleavy just needs to move into the broadcaster booth. He does the playoffs most years and I really enjoy listening to him. He does a very good job of explaining what's going on. The man really knows basketball, but his personality just rubs the new generation of players the wrong way.

You are right. I do think he has a good mind. But he might fit the Hubie and Larry Brown thing. They are to old school. They are not fit to coach some things, because of how they coach. But if Dun were to leave on his own he gets less money, so he benefits by keeping the GM role.Thats probably why they promoted him after firing Baylor, saves the team money. And he gets more. Resigning takes away the guarantee, but if he were fired he gets what the contract states.
