I read in espn that the rumors on thursday were that the clippers are in talks with the Thunder about a possible trade

The hottest rumor at the camp Thursday had the Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder in hot and heavy talks about a swat of the No. 1 pick for the No. 3 pick. I heard a number of variations, including Oklahoma City sending Jeff Green to Los Angeles and another in which the Thunder take back one of the clipper bad contracts, particularly those of Zach Randolph or Chris Kaman.

all this by Chad Ford

Yeah saw this report on NBA.com or ESPN.. anyways.. i still doubt these reports. They are only out there because of Clippers history and well because were the Clippers. Nobody wants us to outshine the Lakers... ah that day will come sooner than you think...lolz.. Of course Mike Dunleavey did state something like if there was a deal they couldnt pass up, they would do, but for hte most part, Blake Griffin will be our #1.

So again, I read but ignore alot of these "reports"

According to Andy Katz during today's NBA Combine he said that the reason there is a lot drama around the Clippers about the 1st pick is because the NBA told them to not to say who they're gonna take. Also that Dunleavy and Asst. GM have made it clear to teams that the 1st pick is NOT for sale and they will take Blake Griffin. But that Randolph, Camby, and Kaman are ( not a shocker).

This is from MikeRod56 on the ESPN boards.

What's the point of taking either Zach or Kaveman if we're not gonna pick Griffin? IMO there's no point in trading away either of these assets for Jeff Green. I'd rather trade Kaveman for G-Force any day. These rumors are very annoying. I've been ignoring them mostly but I don't like many of the ideas.

Never head the Jeff Green rumor. NOt bad though. He would fill out as a SF for us and serve as a back up. Good defense, decent shot. Only will improve. I see upside to this kid. Dont mind that trade, but they better package it with an expiring or future draft pick or something.

Yeah im annoyed to by all the rumors but again their rumors. Just pay no mind. Thats all we can do

Ahhhh, I guess since the Clippers made it CLEAR who they were gonna get, someone needs to make a sure thing...unsure by putting a cloud of doubt on the obvious. Unless a team hands over their "future", I don't see anything changing.

Actually the article said the Clippers are following the rule " Don't tell who you are drafting until draft day." But all signs point to them keeping the pick.

It would be nice if the team could offer a vote to each one of the season ticket holders, and just made some key moves based on majority...that would surely decrease the fan heckling significantly..

even if the team doesn't follow through based on the votes, for the ones they do follow through, they could keep the voting records to remind the fans that we chose or doom, or hopefully, success. Also, it could play a factor in team's decisions...fans these days have great ideas for team management, and are well versed and knowledgable in their team's salary situations.

Bingo! If Blake isn't coming to LA, I WANT Randolph on the team. And is Kaman even considered a "bad" contract?

I can't imagine Dunleavy making a deal unless it involved Kevin Durant, which I am praying for on a daily basis....

If Dunleavy is a complete idiot, he'll make the trade.

But, even I don't think he's that stupid.

I read on an OKC site that they would love to trade with LAC for the Griffin pick (duh), but that Durant, Westbrook and Green are untouchable. If that's the case then THEY HAVE NOTHING WE WANT!!!

I smell "No Deal"!

http://newsok.com/trade-in-works-thunde ... nes_widget

This article is OKC dreaming of getting the #1 pick cheap.

The only deal with the Thunder that I would except is for Durant. Durant is a stud right now for the Thunder, but what are the chances that he sticks around three years from now when his contract is up. Swapping Durant for Griffin would guarantee that their main guy was around for 5 years. They would have a solid young nucleus of Westbrook, Green, Griffin, and whoever they take with the 3rd pick.

They could offer us Green who I really like (way more than Thornton), but with us having Thornton there is no need for Green. I'm really not sold on Westbrook either. I can't figure out what made him so special last year. Every time I saw him against us Gordon was torching him. Also if we were to trade down with OKC it would be to take Rubio and then there is really no need for Westbrook.

They only deal I think in general that I would make is to swap picks with Memphis and for them to include Mayo. I would then swap picks with the Kings and have them include Thompson. All of this would have to be agreed upon in advance, but I would then love the makeup of the team. We would have talented veterans and a solid young nucleus of Mayo, Gordon, Thornton, Thompson, Jordan, and whoever we took with the 4th pick.

So this writer thinks we'd make that trade without it involving Durant, Green or Westbrook? Sounds like he put a lot of thought into that article...

If i trade the Thunder for number one pick, i expect:

  1. Durant - with a 5 year contract extension that isn't a max deal

  2. They take Zach Randolph

  3. 2 future unprotected first round picks

  4. Westbrook

I'm surprised he doesn't just assume we'll hand over the pick, free of charge. I guess the promise of more draft picks is supposed to add a bit of verisimilitude.

It's funny, OKC won't give up Durant/Westbrook for the 1st pick, while we won't accept anything less.

A guy that they have, that I think has a chance to be pretty good is D.J. White...

[quote="Cliptonyte"]

i agree with everything, exept since we would not be getting griffin, i see no point in trading zach. and we should give em baron, since we are getting westbrook.

Why would we need Westbrook. If we were to trade down we would draft Rubio.
