Why is Marcus Camby said to be available in Clipperland so soon after being frequently described as off-limits leading up to this past season's February trade deadline? Because the Clips have discovered this month that they can't move Zach Randolph or Chris Kaman unless they're also willing to move down from No. 1 in Thursday's draft order. Which they obviously have zero interest in considering. The Clips also love bargain-find frontcourt man DeAndre Jordan, so Camby -- whose defensive pedigree and expiring $9.7 million salary make him a hugely popular trade target -- is the big man easiest for L.A. to....

^^^ if we can bring in some decent assistant coaches and FO staff, then that would help. we need hall of famer bigs to mentor blake and deandre!

At this point, I'm all for anybody not named Dunleavy. Heck, let's give Ralph Lawler a shot. lol

But seriously though, I still feel that we're gonna continue to struggle with Dunleavy next season. He just is not the right fit for this team with the style that our team needs to play which is an uptempo free-flowing system. We need to find a coach who is creative on offense and can let our athletes loose. Dunleavy can talk all he wants about how he's stressing a more up-tempo team next season, but until I see it, I won't believe it.

A few people on this board were saying how important a good start to next season is. After the first 20 games, if we start off 13-7, it's safe to say Dumbleavy's job is secure. However, if it's 5-15, then we will likely see the end of a (sad) era. I really believe he's in the hotseat, and a lot of pressure will be on his shoulders. Show and prove.

Hughes is the mentor to the bigs... Not sure why Sterling brought Dunleavy back as coach only to have the season not even started yet and he's already twisting in the wind... There were inexpensive coaches he could have tried to start the season, who wouldn't have added that much to the payroll.

Not sure who Hughes will be as a coach... But like the rest, I have no love for Dunleavy.

I think if he starts 10-10, given where we're been the last two years, that will be enough to keep him through the season.

Sam Cassell is on washington wizards staff. DTS will not pay Dun to sit at home, he's too cheap for that. The team will have to tank the season the same way they have the last 2 years in order for Dun to be fired during the season. Like Illastrate said 5-15 to start the season may lead to him getting fired. I am interested to know who he will hire as assistants. Most of the best Big man coaches that are out there are on other teams so it should be interesting to see who he adds on.

He should get Mchale, J/K.

What woudl Casell have cost to hire? Dunleavy moves to the FO and Casell takes over the team... Only adds another million or so to DTS's payroll. Dunleavy is not sitting at home... If Sam isn't the man, there are lots of other first-time coaches available you can give a shot to who won't break the bank... Hell, if DTS is paying Zach 16-million, what's another mill between friends?

I would actually like Mchale. He was pretty good before Jefferson went down. And he seemed to be a favorite among the players. It's not like he did a bad job.

POSTED: June 24 -- 10:24 p.m. ET

Andy Katz: A source with knowledge of the situation said the Clippers wanted to move Chris Kaman but weren't able to do so as of Wednesday. There was nothing imminent for draft night.

The source said that the Clippers will continue to try to move one of three players -- Kaman, Marcus Camby or Zach Randolph -- by the time training camp opens. The source said the only 100 percent certainty is that expected top pick Blake Griffin will be in training camp.

Clipshow-Mchale did a decent job last year but he will probably want a GM/head coach gig. I doubt he would want to back up Dun. Who would? Well other then Hughes.

SamMays said it right. Dunleavy can be fired as coach and then become an overpaid GM for the last two years of his contract. He has been OK as a GM. Then we hire an underpaid coach for two year with the promise that if he works out, he gets a big raise when Dunleavy's contract expires. There are a lot of great potential coaches out there if you think outside the box.

The only danger with hiring a new coach is the team he's going to inherit. Baron has not exactly been coach friendly through his career... He's gonna do what he wants unless a coach can really sell him on something and, so far in his career, the only thing Baron's ever been sold on is, "You can do what you want whenever you want."

Zach is gonna do what he does and nothing more... Kaman is, well, Kaman... I think our three highest paid guys are coach's nightmares... Not good for Dunleavy or whoever follows him.

Kaman has been poor since EB's departure.

Kaman never deserved the enormous contract he signed a few years back.

Kaman should be traded away for a 2nd round pick and two quality players.

For a big Kaman is among the top 10 and worth the contract if he could stay healthy... If healthy, I think he's a better value than Zach and anyone is much better than the Baron who showed up last year.

Kaman is an asset, he's just been hurt. I can't blame him for that... All the other stuff, the lack of concentration, the missed layups, etc. are part of who he is and we knew that... When right, he's a guy you can throw it into and he can get his own shot and demands a double team. Not too many of those guys around... Of course, if he were a better passer out of the double teams, it would help... He's also developed a pretty reliable shot from about 17 feet... And is the closest we have to being able to play a big straight up... Camby is more a weakside help guy, too thin to body with other bigs and keep them from where they want to go.

Vince Carter is very close to being traded to the Magic for Alston, Lee, and Batie. I wish we would have offered Camby and Thornton.

We shouldn't be thinking about adding anyone over 25, unless Zach or Baron is involved and going out.

I'm not sure why the Magic got Vince Carter because now he has just become a jump shooter, and very rarely attacks the basket. Plus we all know how great Vince Carter is on defense. I guess the Magic are now just going to try to out score every team. With Rashard Lewis, Jameer Nelson, Vince Carter and Hedo Turkoglu as the outside defenders Dwight Howard is going to have his hands full and will most likely lead the league in fouls.

I take a sign and trade Randolph for Turkuglu: Magic= Nelson, Cater, Lewis, Randolph, Howard Clippers = Davis, Gordon, Turkuglu, Griffin, Kaman

yeah kim hughes doesnt seem as anal about coaching as dunleavy is. i think unlike dunleavy, highes will try many different systems and see which one better fits our team.

Sources say Toronto is preparing an offer of five years and $60 million for Brian Skinner. Meanwhile, Dwight Howard, the star of Orlando - reportedly made a call to Skinner on Tuesday night to express his desire for him to sign with the Magic. Skinner opted out of his contract with The Clippers , foregoing $1.3 million this season.

Also

According to several league sources, the Cavs have been been in contact with Los Angeles Clippers free agent center Brian Skinner. It even included a face-to-face pitch from LeBron James on Tuesday night in Los Angeles as both were in Southern California for various events

No wonder he opted out.

Cavs are going to be dangerous next year!

your facts are to hard to believe post a legit link

The magic can't afford to give Hedu Turkuglu 35 million........there is def. no way they would offer skinner 50 mill.

It looks like Ben Gordon to the Pistons is done. 5 years 55 million.

This move may very well kill us. The Pistons signing Gordon and most likely Villanueva most likely means that Prince will be staying. The Bulls will now also surely keep Hinrich now as well. This one deal could kill us.

How about trading Camby for Hamilton. Pistons need a center.

Do we really need Hamilton who's contract has 4 more years at 12.65 million a year. It might be all about a three team deal. It would be great for Gordon to learn from RIP, but there's no need for that contract.

Hamilton would be a good fit here, but only if Zach's contract is gone... Not likely.

Hamilton would pout and sit on the bench......he will not play second fiddle to Eric Gordon.

The Clippers need to pick up quality bench guys.......we have our starters in place and bringing in disgruntled players that are used to staring will only divide our team chemistry more.

Our core of: Baron, Gordon, Thornton, Griffin, Jordan, Taylor, Novak, Randolph, Kaman or Camby - needs to be built around - meaning bring in quality team guys with leadership who don't demand the ball yet can hit a shot when needed.

Hamilton would back up Gordon and Thornton and get plenty of minutes... He's a great player and a great teammate... He would probably start over Thornton if Blake rebounds well enough.

The Rockets, Clippers, Raptors and Blazers are also showing interest in Ariza. Portland and Toronto could each offer more than the mid-level exception.

If the Lakers dont get him I think he would come over here. He's from LA, his son lives in LA, him & Baron both own part of the Conga Room across from Staples Center, and him and Baron are both from UCLA. I think there's a good chance.

I also agree that if Ariza doesn't come here he should go to Cleveland. I would love the see the Lakers underpay offers to both Ariza and Odom and lose both.
