Trevor Ariza has never been loyal anywhere he goes......he left UCLA after a year and wasn't even good........now he gets on the lakers and thinks he is aweosme....Q Richardson has better stats and can offer more than Ariza.
And Comparing Ariza to Thornton is nuts ... Al Thorntons hustle is better, his talents are better and his athleticism is way better ...... If Thornton played with Kobe he would be just as unselfish as Ariza so that justification doesn't work........i would offer some Money to Linas Klezia, Marquis Daniels, Anthony Parker or Matt Barnes
I wouldn't go that far. Let's not get ahead of ourselves, do you know that Al Thornton was the least efficient player last year? Yes, dead last. Not a typo. I mean, I agree with you that we shouldn't bring Ariza in at that price, but you're overhyping Al way too much. Sterling didn't call him the most selfish player in the league for no reason. As much as I disagree with how Sterling went about it, I swear he basically took the words right out of my mouth. I, along with everyone else, had been thinking that for awhile. I was starting to hear nicknames for him like "the black hole". But we're fine as is, no need to sign Ariza for $6 million and let's give Al another chance to redeem himself after a fairly disappointing sophomore campaign.
**CORRECTION** to seanb and everyone else who noticed: sorry about my misstates stat above. It was one of those things you read, and forget where you read it. He was not the least efficient player in the NBA, that was misjudged. What I had read, now recalling, that according to some formula on ESPN, he was the least valuable player or something along those lines of the NBA. Either way, I think we get the point. But in reality, I'm willing to forget it because I know he is extremely talented and hopefully will bounce back. Again, my bad for the misstated stat. |

| b_diddy, while i agree that al is a human blackhole and vastly overrated on topbuzz, i think you need to check your stats to make sure that is official. People who have went to or are in college understand you would have to site your sources. "get some facts, and come back and see me". |

| ^^ While I agree that Al sometimes holds the ball too long at times, he isn't a black hole or isn't overrated here, at CTB. You have to understand that rating a player here or any other message board, is purely subjective. It all depends on who you ask. I think both sides can make the case for or against him but again, it is purely subjective. You say potato, I say potato. |

| clip joe we are agreeing to disagree. but its hard to give much merit to als numbers (17 ppg) bc he was on such a terrible team. lets see if he can be a contributor on a winning team. with z bo gone, it will not hurt as much to have him chucking it up, i will give u that |

| Ariza IMHO just made ahuge mistake going to the Rockets. Yao is out indefinitely and T-mac is trying to comeback from microfracture surjery in the final year of his deal. Battier is all they have left, superstar wise. This team is gonna struggle for sure. With both superstars down, they should be a lottery team next year. |

Yup! But, he is going to a team that has a solid young core of Brooks & Scola. From a selfish standpoint, he is going to play a bigger part of that team. I think that is what he really wanted. Say goodbye to rings for a while but say hello to better opportunities for himself. |

I honestly don't know why Ariza and his agent were balking at the full MLE from the Lakers when they accepted the same exact thing from the Rockets a day later!! hahaha it makes no sense! But who cares, it just makes the rich richer and the poor poorer and gives us our window in 4-5 years.
And to seanb and clip joe, i fixed my post up higher about that efficiency "stat". Sorry about misunderstanding.. |

| Toche' CJ. Good point. Now Ariza becomes the man for that team. |

"gives us our window in 4 too 5 years"...... incredible, I think were the only fans in this world who would say something like that,
