There you go, another quality PG is available. And we can offer him a one year deal with part of our MLE if we don't wanna affect our 2010 cap room. WIN-WIN.

Yes please.

Please please please sign Watson. He'd be the perfect off-the-bench distributor we sorely need. He even plays defense. Not as good or young as Sessions, but for the MLE for a year?

Yes please.

nice find illastrate, i would definitely be glad to get Earl Watson

he had a nice 08/09 seaseon with OKC:

MPG: 9.5

RPG: 2.7

APG: 5.8

PPG: 6.6

I like him as a backup plan. I'm guessing that if Sessions signed our contract, our cap would be locked down for 7 days until Milwaukee decided, in which time I would expect Iverson to sign somewhere. If Milwaukee matches, get Watson.

those are actually really solid numbers for only 10 min...if you double that

MPG: 19

RPG: 5.4

APG: 11.6

PPG: 13.2

not that i am saying that will be what he averages but it just shows you the numbers he could put up if he had more playing time. I like him.

Dude, it's actually 26.1 mpg. I don't think it's humanly possible to avg nearly 6 asts in 10 mins lol

There are only 2 players we realistically have a chance in signing. Iverson because he wants to be in a big market. And now with the news of Earl Watson being waived, we have a good chance in signing him as well since he played college ball at UCLA and is a hometown kid. Wasn't he also a teammate of Baron while he was there? I just don't think we have a chance at Sessions because the Bucks are in love with him. Personally, I'd be fine with Iverson or Watson as a backup PG. They are clear upgrades over Mike Taylor who still needs to work on his game.

If we don't end up with A.I , Watson would be a great pickup.

We should get him for around 3 million.

He isn't solid like sessions or hinrich , but he beats Jason Hart and Mike Taylor

Wow. That would be a very nice pick up for us if we could get him. Illastrate are you a scout or something? You should send Dun your application. If this guy is not on Dun's radar then somethings wrong. Watson would totally help our team and would come at a decent price. I don't think he has mental problems either. Its a win win with him.

ye I was quite surprised too, but did not think so much about - really just skimmed it and thought it was nice stats, sorry about that mistake

Smile

my source must have been quite bad then, but anyway, the stats are quite solid imo

Watson should be our absolute last resort if A.I. or Sessions don't pan out.

haha, seriously:)

I think he would be a serviceable backup but behind AI and way behind Sessions in terms of priority.

Watson and Ridnour are both decent backups... Neither is someone to get excited about, but both could be an asset in a backup role... I'd prefer either to Iverson and neither to Sessions, who is someone we could get excited about.

i agree that Sessions qould be amazing, but don't you think he would like a starting role? I do not know, but I would personally prefer a Earl Watson over AI

^^^I have faith that Baron will either blow the job due to lack of hustle or lack of on court intelligence, or get injured... Failing those, I think my belief that a pass-first point guard would make this team more successful will be borne out. Sessions may start on the bench, but I think we'll find the team would play a lot better with him on the floor than with Baron...

In any event, Sessions is good enough so that Baron couldn't go to camp without competing for the role of starter... That's probably why Baron would probably rather have AI come in... AI plays the same kind of shoot-first game that he does, except that AI has never actually been a PG despite his stature. Baron would get to play PG without any real competition...

And this is something that hasn't been brought up much regarding AI... He's not a PG. He could back of Gordon, but not Baron... Another reason why he'd be a poor choice... Another of many...

Yeah, Sessions shined as the starting PG after Ridnour went down and became the star after the Redd injury. He could fulfill his sky high potential as a starter elsewhere. If he signs and lands here, that would be terrific.

We can scratch Watson off the list. He's signing with the Pacers. It's looking more and more likely we'll sign Iverson or give an offer sheet to Sessions. I'm down with that.

^^ good catch, BB!

At this point, if we can get Sessions below the MLE, I would prefer him over AI. But if Sessions requires the full MLE for several years, I would take AI for a year and see what the market has to offer next season. It looks like it will be a buyers market next off season. Either way, I would be happy with either....Just get it DONE!

The more we talk about needing a back up pg, the more I miss this guy. We wouldnt have this problem if we kept him. And he's back and at the right time...if only he was on our team.

Livingston would be perfect for this team. Pass first pg with D. Also he can defend both guard postions.

Damn, Indy acted fast. Our FO is so dyslexic, it takes them an hour to spell f-a-s-t.

It's either Sessions or we move on. And yes, I think he is worth the full MLE.

Well there goes our backup plan. Now that the randolph trade is official hopefuly we can put together an offer for sessions.

Sessions has the potential to be a star, a guy we keep for the next seven years... Iverson is one and done at best and is a high-risk, low reward player at this point in his career... Even if he plays well, he gives us another 20 minutes of a Baron Davis style, shoot-first PG... Not what we need.

Sessions can definitely blow up. A player just doesn't score 44 pts and drops 24 asts by accident. Plus can you trust Baron to stay healthy like...ever? He's probably gonna miss at least 20 games again, so Sessions could step in easily. I hope we sign that offer sheet before somebody else does.

Watson would be an interesting addition and could provide much more defense than BD or Mike Taylor...Offensively he's limited but he has a good package to be a back up PG.

Anyways he wouldn't deserve the whole mid level exception...more than 3mil$ for Watson would be overprize him.

Mike Taylor can be fun to watch, but he's a 9th or 10th man... Not a regular part of the rotation. He's too mistake prone and too out of control to lead a team... I'm sure he's thrilled to have earned a spot on the team... To earn a spot in the regular rotation, he'll have to earn that too and he's not there yet.
