This is a good article that talks of a Clipper curse. While I don't believe in curses, it does chronicle the bad luck the team has had with some of it's star players. Now we can add Brand to the list.

Yeah history is not on our side. There's a quote that goes something like this "People always root for the underdog, but rarely follow them." That's why I'm proud to be a Clippers fan. You know what?? We choose to follow the underdog. We'll always be the underdogs in this least we didnt play it safe when choosing our favorite team. Even those of you in Southern California could have chosen the Lakers...but something inside you wanted to live outside the norm and took pride in cheering for LA's "other" NBA team. This Elton Brand thing could mean disaster, it could mean blessing...but just like Benoit, I dont believe in curses either. Obstacles can be overcome, just look at the RedSox who overcame being three games down in the series to win eight straight en route to their first World Series in practically forever.

Thanks for the article, Benoit...that's quite the list of misfortunes for this team.

Thanks for those words Jlemmen43. Nice words of wisdom and encouragement. Maybe it is a blessing. This would give the other players a chance to shine and see what they are made of. It sounds farfetched and corny but at this point I have nothing else to hold on to.
