As you probably know, at the end of THIS year, both EB and Cory can opt out of their current contracts. Does this scare any of you. If both decide to leave, we are back to square one, we are the Clips of Old (yuck!!!). We hear tons of Kobe talk on sports radio about him opting out, but what about our stars? This scares me to death. I don't want to be in the draft lottery every year, but it seems we're heading down that path once again. Any thought?

I don't think it's time to worry yet Dano- as the season progresses we may well have to start worrying, but at this point lets see how the guys do and how the attitude is through the All-Star break first.

Yeah I'm not worried, cuz if we have a lot of success this year, 1 or both will stay probably. If we have a crappy year, they probably wont stay, and we'll drop down quite a bit anyways. I'm still a Clippers fan, even if they end up sucking this year or next year.

Exactly- that's the essence of being us, the Clipper fans- through the thick and thin, through the thick and thin Smile

not too worried. well a lil. maggette i think is going to leave for sure but eb im not sure yet we have to see how the season goes cause he said his young and he wants to win a ring. i think he deserves one. if he stays and we try to build something then he mite have that opportunity. but if elton leaves (lets hope not) the clippers will forsure get some1 as good as him. maybe even better? lets see. but lets hope he stays

Not really worried at all to be honest. The Clippers always go through something each and every season and this year is no different. Before we got Sam Cassell...we were going through rough times, the problem was no real LEADERSHIP. But when the Clips traded for him, everything changed and there was an immediate difference; the leadership role that's been missing was found. After an amazing season two seasons ago, the Clippers went through another blow by Sam Cassell being hurt, Livingston getting hurt and could be a career ending injury (hoping not!), the issues with Dunleavy and Maggette, Kaman hurt and not playing to his big money contract potential...and what I believe the biggest factor to the demise of the Clippers season was the lack of passion to play through rough times and relying upon others to finish the job. Now this season, it's another test that will either make or break the Clippers for good. Sam is in his last year, Livingston's another story, EB's injury...everything is basically up in air to what the season would be. I believe everyone will come together, play hard, and put everything on the line. Sam's gonna have control once again, Al Thornton's presence will definitely be felt by opponents, Maggette's gonna prove that he's got All-Star potential, Tim Thomas needs to prove that he's all what the Clippers thought he was when they signed him during the offseason a year ago; he will finally play the same way, maybe even better when he was with the Suns, and finally Kaman; he's gonna have a break out year...it might take some time, but he'll break through a major improvement this year. He'll be as dominant as he was before...(two seasons ago, playoffs against the Suns) and when everyone finally finds that "it" factor, they'll be good as silver (not gold b/c we've gotta compete against the suns in our division) and become even better when EB comes back! He'll come back with FORCE and INTENT!

Yep nice post Clips84- no matter what happens I just hope the guys play the right way- play hard, hustle, play defense, and share the ball. I would stand up and clap even after a loss if they played with passion and smarts.
