Guillermo Diaz is signed up until 09-10. I know this isn't an official site but this site tends to know everyones contract numbers on point. I have been a clipper fan since manning and larry brown days. I wanted to share this information with everyone check it out and let me know what you guys think.

I think is at least surprising...Sincerely I only saw the summerleague stats, it means I didn't watch the games, but I didn't read impressed comments from the people who really watched the games...Everybody thought he couldn't get a spot for our team and now it seems he has signed for 3 years.wow

Wow 3 years for an unproven player!!!! I know the money isn't much but the contract sounds a bit extreme.

Can he be dropped to the D league without it effecting that spot on the team??? Please let me know...

Man o man, I don't like this....

Hey ClipperJoe - sorry to say: A D League player still occupies a spot on the roster. In other words, of the 15 spots you get, you can choose to send up to 2 players to the D league. So if LAC has 15, and two are injured (EB, Shaun), they only have room for one more inactive player. That's a bit tight. So you would think they'd be careful about signing players they don't need.

In terms of the 3 year deal, that is probably true (Zarrel's source is generally accurate). But I'm sure that at only 1 or 2 years are guaranteed.

Thanks for the info. ether! Damn, it looks like our chances of signing JJ are slim to none. I've liked what the front office has done in terms of acquiring players to fill the voids but I must say I am disappointed about the Diaz deal. I hope it works out with Daiz but I won't hold my breath.

Yeah ClipperJoe - I agree with you on JJ. And unless the other thread on Shaun is true, LAC looks pretty slim at true PGs. I don't think Diaz will have enough PG skills (sort of like Ewing, but more SG and less PG). So just Sam and Knight. I'm not sure where they'll get adequate PG play if those two can't put together 48 minutes. Most of the Clipps need to have the ball delivered to them (except Corey and Cat).

I haven't been impressed with Diaz playing at the Pro level. He is athletic, but not very B-Ball savey. Very streaky and seems to be out of position. What about defense? I like JJ better.
