I've just arrived to Barcelona from Madrid where I've been living the Championship live...I've been only 2 days but it has been intensive despite the poor level that some teams have shown...Many NBA dissapointings, only Gasol has shown a better level than his average NBA level. To see Gasol playing live is a pleasure: the way he moves, the way he pass, the way Spain plays...Other teams with great players on the paper have been awful: starting for Turkey (Hedo(he doesn't pass any ball), Okur, Ilyasova) and carrying on with teams like Italy(disaster Bargnani-he DOESN'T KNOW to PLAY INSIDE!!!!neither with Euro players, he just shooted from the 3 point line with null percentage), Germany (awful level, even Dirk doesn't seem Dirk), France (incredible Ronnie Turiaf- he did everything on the court except playing basketball: it means he was looking the cheerleaders during the timeouts, all the time joking with everybody--men!play basketball or go to the clown's factory)
To sum up, maybe Spain doesn't win the tournament, you can have a bad game and go home, but the team has played by far better has been Spain and really deserves the gold.
More things around my tour...Let's see if you know who I met??!!!The unknown here in Spain Jim Goldstein!!!Everybody was looking me crazy when I took a photo with me and a strange men wearing a hat. I supose I was one of the few persons to know him...I saw some NBA scouters, the ones from Portland and Dallas, Bill Russell who was awarded as member of the FIBA Hall of Fame...Nice trip
