Thu Mar 18, 2010 8:51 am EDT Blazers canning GM Pritchard? By Mark J. Miller The Portland Trail Blazers fired team vice president Tom Penn this week and the word is that owner Paul Allen may be sending general manager Kevin Pritchard out the door soon as well, according to the Oregonian. Penn, Pritchard's right-hand man, supposedly got canned because the team is convinced that he used a non-existent offer from the Minnesota Timberwolves to get a raise and promotion nearly a year ago. "I'm not guessing on this, there's no speculation here, the resentment over the Minnesota thing is real," said the Oregonian's....

It would be a great opportunity for the Clippers to revamp their front office (ditto the GM from the Nuggets who has yet to be extended).

Question: It's up to Sterling (or his right-hand man Roeser) to call up candidates, correct?

If so, are these offers made openly while Olshey is still the designated GM?

If these open offers are rebuffed, are we stuck with an inexperienced (possibly disgruntled) GM?

These guys build through the draft, and they are very aggressive when it comes to the draft. They sound like perfect candidates to me.

After having Baylor and Dunleavy for 26 years im ready to jump on board with this guy. He and that other dude helped rebuild the Blazers. I see potential.

If we could pick up Pritchard and unload Baron Davis... the transformation would basically be in full throttle. This would be the most promising the Clippers have ever been by far, especially if we get a big ticket FA.

We should hire Pritchard if he is available. Can't blame him for the injuries on the Blazers. He has put together a great team up there.

^seriously if oden wasnt glass then they would be dominating at the Center position....I mean when healthy he seems to dominate the position and even can make Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol quiver in their boots...its a shame he got hurt....hopefully he comes back and maybe needs to wear bubble wrap around those knees lol I just hope Griffin doesnt end up bein that way. Granted his injury is WAAAAAAAY less serious than all of Oden's...

These guys defintely know how to pick talent and Penn is retarded cuz they almost got turkoglu and look at the production he has put up this season...LOL....

Actually, they traded their pick (Randy Foye) for the T-Wolves' pick (Brandon Roy)

And they traded their pick (Tyrus Thomas) for the Bulls' pick (LaMarcus Aldridge).

Those guys would be great for us. I can't fault them for picking Oden over Durant. Durant is incredible, but they already had their franchise ball-handler in Roy, wouldn't make sense to go for Durant.

which shows how shrewd they are. They couldnt draft those guys and still they pulled off great deals to pick them up.

I think Pritchard would fit in great here.

I saw the same story in the Times NBA section yesterday...in the Times' piece, it was mentioned that Pritchard (for whatever reason) isn't the most well-liked GM in the Association. Not that it matters too much, but I'm for new blood and a new vision in this organization. As long as Donald and Andy Roeser don't meddle in, those guys should have as much free reign as possible.

Good point. Those deals may have been more mistakes on the part of the Wolves and Bulls than anything else.

After reading the article from Hoopsworld.com, I'd guess he's done at the end of the season and will be looking for work. He has Dunleavy'd himself in Portland.

Absolutely. We can probably get him to sign on with team provided we include one of the Kardashian sisters as part of the incentive package
