Sports 53 minutes ago The Los Angeles Clippers have brought back former interim coach Kim Hughes to work for the franchise a week after firing him, an NBA source told Yahoo! Sports. The Clippers announced April 17 that Hughes was relieved of his duties as coach and that the franchise was beginning its search for a replacement. This week, the Clippers asked Hughes to return to help with the draft and take part in player development. Hughes was back working out players in the team’s practice facility Wednesday. He remains under....

He seems like a good guy, so I have no problem with him remaining with the organization in some capacity. I'm just not sure exactly what his job is as of right now. I guess they're probably just calling him a "special consultant" or something like that.

I also have no problem with that but I wonder if the players do. As long as he's not the coach, I don't see how it could hurt. Coincidence that he was asked back just after the Dun fiasco became public? Hmmmm....

"Excuse me Your Excellency Mr. Donald Sir Esquire aaahhh I think we have a problem. We've fired every employee that that has any basketball knowledge whatsoever. In the NBA, we have what's called a draft where you have to pick the best college basketball player that you want to join your team. They also have this thing called free agency. I'm told we have something called cap space? Not sure what that is but I think we're expected to "make some moves" to use the parlance of our times."

"Andy, you're out of the element."

"Mr. Sir His Greatness, that's what I'm worried about."

"I will now bestow some brilliance on you. Prepare yourself...You will first stop paying Mike Dunleavy on his guaranteed contract. With the extra money, you will rehire that tall guy Jim, Tim....Oh yah that Kim fellow. He will handle these things they call draft and free agency. "

"but Your Excellency, won't that make us look like complete buffoons to hire a guy we just fired last week?"

"Silence!"

^^ Hughes is technically still an employee, he was just asked to come back and "earn" the remainder of his contract. I don't know what's worse though...Bringing back a fired employee or making an ex-employee come back and work off the little change left on the contract.

I wonder if this Dun mess has repelled any respectable coach from coming here and are using Hughes as a plan B? Hmmmmmmmmm...

^^^ How can it not? What a fiasco.

I feel bad for Hughes, being fired and then being told to come back and work off the rest of your contract... What a cheapskate low-life Sterling is...

This franchise has sucked since he's owned it... As much as I want to blame Baron and others wanted to blame Dunleavy, the real problem, the one that has made this franchise a laughing stock for 25+ years, is DTS... No one player or coach could do so much damage for so long.

Def good news to my eyes! lol but im definitely liking that he is able to stay on and work with kaman, DJ and even griffin. He seems to have alot of insight on how to be a good big in teh league and i like his straight forwardness. glad to have him back but i hope that this is just till he either gets another coaching job then if not they will offer him a new deal to be just player development

DTS, what a humanitarian to make the guy work for every dollar even though he was fired. He's embarrassing as an owner.

He better go rush out and donate some money to an organization to deflect the bad press.

I'm cool with this move as long as he never coaches this team again.
