Ralph didn't really offer his personal opinion, but here's what he said: The drama for the Los Angeles Clippers at the NBA Draft boiled down to picks number six and seven, just ahead of their own selection at number eight in the first round of the draft. The Clippers hopes were happily realized when Golden State grabbed Baylor center Ekpe Udoh at number six and then Detroit cooperated with the selection of big man Greg Monroe of Georgetown at number seven. The decks were cleared for the Clips to get their man: Six-foot-8 inch Wake Forest sophomore Al-Farouq Aminu. He can play both....

David, along with the unreported June 1 workout, and Aminu halting team workouts, and working out just up the road at Cal Lutheran, it looks like Aminu was their man all along. Aminu wanted to be a Clipper even if it meant he gave up on being draft higher, which easily could have happened, especially to Golden State at 6.

all of that adds up to a whole lot of non clipperness in the draft selection which of course is a good thing.

Sounds like the FO finally did their homework and i am very excited for this upcoming season!

Aminu wanted to be a Clipper? Sweet. I'll take that attitude.

Two real good selling points about Aminu is that he led his division in rebounds, and is known as a good defensive player. Even though his offensive game is similar to Al Thornton he is a much better rebounder and defender.

He said on draft night he thought that the clippers have great players and ppl that know basketball very well. And that having no coach right now didnt bother him. (Like that would bother anyone just being drafted). I just dont get y ESPN tries to bad mouth the clips any chance they get. I bet if we picked up george or hayward or babbitt, they would have been like they this is a mistake, they guy cant defend and can shoot but is horrid. Not to mention the first thing they ask him they basically say, the clippers are completely disorganized and suck so is that daunting? and I liked aminu's response....."No....I really dont think so."
