Clipper Nation - I can't believe we arent discussing this possibility more. I think the clippers should make a hard run at Paul Pierce, the 2008 finals mvp (which came at the expense of the black mambiath, btw) and self proclaimed best player in world. Throw 3 year 55 million deal at him and see if he bites....imagine this starting 5: Bdizzle, AirGordo, Truth, Blake, and Kaman...thats not too shabby...what do you say, guys!?

lets not. we have 2 sides to our team. the old vets and the new youngins. we need to add to the young part of our team, that should be our first priority. and pierce won't leave. he won a ring with the celtics. he'll finish his career there.

While I don't think he is leaving Boston, the thought of his veteran leadership leading the way is a bit intriguing.

PP is not going anywhere, Doc Rivers just anounced he's coming bac to coach the C's. He said "I wants one more shot with this group". Meaning that team will be the same next year. Why would he leave, they almost won it all last year.

Just trying to restructure and get more years and maybe open up a bit more money for more talent.

P2 won't leave Boston for LA esp. since Doc is returning for another season.

clipper joe seems to get there is more to adding pierce than just his stats. he would be a HUGE pickup...he is a local guy and would probably feel slightly reborn to be back in LA. He also would be a great model for the younger players - he has actually won in this league and I think he could bea big influence. Further, I completely understand the idea of going with a youth Movement...but who knows if we will have all our young players by the time they fully blossom anyway. I think we need to try and maximize these next few years before baron is washed up...and I think picking up Pierce gives the clips a great chance at moving up the west

it would be worth signing him if the money is right.. the guy is nowhere near worth a max contract

^yeah i dont think pierce is not worth max...especially after his playoff performance. But if he was wiling to take like 10 mil i would take him. That way we could still bring back like craig smith and also use the rest to pick up some guys to fill in the roster, maybe some great locker room vets to work with our young players.

Expect Byron Scott to be named the Head Coach of the Cavs they are in contract neg. now. Its rumors about Lebron tryin to get Ray Allen to come to the Cavs too. So if Ray Ray leaves who knows what Pierce will start thinking, I think they needed Eddie Houses' three point shooting when Allen went cold in the finals.

I don't really see Pierce as a viable option. I like him as a player, but given his age, I wouldn't want to tie up a lot of money in him for more than a couple years. I don't think he's going to go for that . . . we're talking about a guy that called himself the best player in the NBA after the 2008 finals. I just don't think the Clippers and Pierce could come to a mutually agreeable arrangement.

Hey everyone this is my first post to this site... love the talk about everything that's going on... I'm just excited about the moves the clips are doing so far so good I hope all turns out for the best I thought pierce to the clips made perfect sense but after thinking about it the clippers are headed towards a youth movement new coach new draft picks grade A with all the free agents out there the clips are are ready to throw it down...
