The Los Angeles Clippers have had a lot of players come and go...
We had a wide range of talent on this team over the pass decade..
We had high flying acrobatic dunkers in Darius Miles and Chris Wilcox
We had great 3 point assassins in Q Richardson and Eric Piatkowski
We had wonderful floor leaders in Andre Miller and Sam Cassell
We had amazing scorers in Lamar Odom and Elton Brand and Corey Maggette
MY QUESTION IS..
WHICH CLIPPER TEAM WAS YOUR FAVORITE SINCE 2000????
I have a hard time choosing between the 2001/2002 clippers and the 2006 clippers
the 2006 clippers had the winning record and a playoff berth but the 2002 clippers were as exciting to watch as fireworks!
The 2001/2002 Clippers consisted of exciting young players such as Elton Brand, Corey Maggette, Lamar Odom, Quenton Richardson, Eric Piatkowski, Andre Miller, and Chris Wilcox. These years were the "headband bagging years". I enjoyed watching every game because it was so excting, whether the team won or lost. My favorite play of the two years was when Sean Rooks threw a pass across court in which lamar odom caught and flicked behind his head towards the rim to Daruis Miles, who threw down a windmill slam that would have woken up rip wan wrinkle. Their record in 2002, however was a dismal 27-55
The 2006 Clippers was comprised of Veterans and young talent that included Elton Brand, Corey Maggette, Sam Cassell, Cuttino Mobley, Shaun Livingston, and Chris Kaman. Though this team was not as high flying and exciting, winning was all that mattered to them. This team made history by making the playoffs and succeeding as they did that year. One game away from the Western Confernce Finals, the clippers were one miss away from reaching that plateau. However, the run they accomplished was admirable to say that LEAST. Their record was a very respectable 47-35
So clippernation, What kind of fan are you?
A fan who enjoys winning in old fashion style or A fan who loves the exciting plays that the nba offers regardless of the score at the end of the night.

The head banging years with Q Rich and D Miles were the best. I remember the last game of the season in 01/02, at home, the team and the fans celebrated like we had just won the championship. There was a lot of love happening at the end of that year. It was special.

Yea but nothing compares to the achievements of the 2005-2006 season. I will take that over "special" any day of the week.

Believe it or not, I was sitting in county jail for an unpaid speeding ticket during that game. I was due to be released that day but got out at midnight. I was sooo mad I missed that game! Word to the wise, pay ALL tickets! |

The Odom/Richardson/Miles days were exciting...but I'd take our 05-06 team any day. Winning trumps all. Especially for a franchise who's success hasnt been that thrilling.

It's like who is better Harlem Globetrotters or San Antonio? Not the best comparison but as far as excitement and achievements go, I think it fits into context.

I'm gonna have to go with 2005-06, but it'd be a tough call with the 91-92 Clippers. They were down 0-2 to Utah, and on the brink of elimination they came back and won two home games at the Anaheim Pond during the LA Riots. That was incredible- Doc River was the point guard. They could've won game 5 after leading midway through the 4th quarter of game 5 in Salt Lake, but Stockton & Malone did their thing and the rest was history. The 92-93 Clippers were very memorable too- they took it to game 5 in Houston. The Clippers came back from a 19 point deficit to actually take a one point lead after a Ron Harper steal & a layup with less than a minute to go. But Vernon "Mad Max" Maxwell sank a dagger 3 pointer in the next possession and the Clippers couldn't respond after that. So the great thing about the 2005-06 team was that they actually made it into the 2nd round (and almost made it into the conference finals), but for me the teams from 1991-92 and 1992-93 were more memorable.
